First wild camp of 2024 | Freezing conditions | Brecon Beacons ❄️

- This is my first video on a new channel I have created to share my adventures of myself hiking and wild camping in the Brecon Beacons and around Wales.
In this video I spent the night camped on top of Craig Cerrig-gleisiad where temperatures dropped below zero. It was a great night out and a great start to my wild camping adventures of 2024, also the first of many to come this year. After having continuous rain for the past few months, this was the first dry day we'd seen in a while and I had good weather for the camp - temperatures dropped below zero and I had some unexpected snowfall in the morning.

It's a great drink, I've never even been a fan of stout until I'd tried Northern Monk.

Just watched your video every time i see Brecon it brings back memories of the army and some brutal night's in sennybridge long time ago now but still etched in head.... anyway good video that good luck with the channel
I have those memories too - if I'd been told 30 years ago 'when I was getting beasted around Pen y Fan with a huge pack on my back and sleeping out in freezing conditions' that I'd one day be doing it for enjoyment, I would never have believed it. Great memories, though!

Good going - a cracking spot to camp. Ah, peace away from the crowds - any sensible person would do the same. I was up in the Black Mountains a few days ago camping - minus 5 in Abergavenny and I was up at 500 meters. So, yeah nearly lost my balls. Ha ha! Looked like you were kitted out well mind you. Yes, it's definitely wise to avoid the crowds, the quieter the better. I'm hoping to get up the Black Mountains for a camp soon, I love how remote it is up there. I had a quick look at your trailer last night, it looks a great channel, I've just subbed. I'm sure I saw Lleust Cwmbach bothy there?

@@wildaboutwales Yeah, it is a nice little bothy. Ha, when I was there it was a bothy AGM of all things - it was a part and so I camped out front. The video to that is called: Wild Elan Way P1&2. I hike the Elan from source to the Wye. It's a goddun. Take care maan. Peace.
