Love your videos.. I'm a Rhonda valley ",girl"....in my 70 s now. Lived in the u.s. for fifty years....married over here. Never expected to live anywhere but Wales....my beloved home country. Does me a world of good to hear you talking....and seeing my home country. I live on the west coast...near the Canadian border.....keep the videos coming. 👍💖🙏
Hello, thank you for watching and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I'm from just over the mountain, Aberdare boy born & bred, living in Penderyn now. All the best, Ryan.
just collecting up the bits i need to do my first wild camp, the whisky i have already, got a few good bottles tucked away, my favourite dram is the Talisker 18 but its pricey so usually settle foor the 10 year old, i cant wait till the time i have all the bits i need to get out there for the night
That will be a cool watch, it's good to see somebody doing their first wild camp - hope it goes well for you. Funnily enough, I picked up a bottle of Talisker 10 yesterday. I haven't been fortunate enough to try the 18.
@@wildaboutwales maybe I should keep a dram in my bag on the chance we bump into each other. Would be my pleasure for you to have it. It's a very nice tipple
Ryan.. like you I only need 5 hours Kip a night . Too wet to go out night riding on my bike ( again).. but I’ve just found your channel and sat down with and my Terrier and a coffee ( or 2) next to the rad and watched all yours vids .. what a lift ..more please.
Hello Alan, thanks for watching and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. I'm heading back out into the rain today, so will hopefully have more for you soon. Take it easy, mate!
Toby is a great jumper! His doggy personality infuses each of your videos. You camp the way I always liked to: sticking with a tried and true kit and mixing in food from home with something grilled on the fire.
A real relaxing watch Ryan..... loved the natural sounds of nature n this. Sad as I am I recognised the location within abt 10 seconds as I recognised the birch on the side of the crags, I have photographed them in their winter state when they take on a pink/purple hue..lol. An area I have walked many times and further into the valley there is a flat spot that I reckon would make a great spot for a wild camp - it's off piste and I came across it a few years ago when taking a friend on a circuit of the area. I am not a whisky drinker - hardly drink at all these days - but love to see people apprciating a good sprit and you could tell you was enjoying that. cracking timelapse of the night sky... atb Alan
Thank you, Alan! It really is a special place, I love it here in the Spring and Summer - it's great to hear the Peregrine Falcons up in the cliffs. Yes, theres a few nice spots there to camp, it's a little gem of a place.
It's hard to believe i hiked and camped this fine lands 50yrs ago..... I don't have the mobility now, so watching you Ryan brings so much joy. Thank you.
Thank you, Jack! It was certainly a lot quieter back then, it's a busy place this day and age. Im very lucky to have it all on the doorstep. I just realised you're across the pond, I'll be posting plenty of Welsh Landscape from here on for you. Thanks for watching!
Enjoy your videos, I'm a Carmarthen man but my wife is from Abercynon so I fondly recognize your accent from the area . Like you I enjoy getting out wild camping but my poison is a spiced rum which I enjoyed in the middle of nowhere with the rain pouring down in a mist .It soothes the soul. Keep up the great content.
Thanks, mate, glad you're enjoying the videos! I'm an Aberdare boy born & bred, so you're correct with the accent. It's most definitely good for the soul, great minds and that. ATB, Ryan.
Toby was fine, it's a fleece lined coat he's wearing, he's digging and running around most of the time and I kept him in his sleeping bag when he got cold. I've bought him a full body fleece since, so he's nice and warm 🙂
I often start bawling when I get to the top of a hill or round a corner to an amazing view but that's the first time that's happened watching drone footage on a TH-cam channel!! Bendigedig! One to add to my list and not too far away. I'll be checking out Sarn Helen too as it starts in Carmarthen you say. Diolch and iechyd da😊🏴 P.S....just looked quickly at Sarn Helen map and it only starts on my flippin' doorstep almost!! Could be a 'before I'm 60' challenge!!
Thats my first time posting any drone footage, I know it needs perfecting as I'm new to it, so I really appreciate that! Thanks! That's handy to have Sarn Helen nearby to you, I dont think the entire route can be walked as some of it has been lost in time, but it meanders along the Snowdonia Way in N.W which I guess you could walk if sections are missing. It does run through some beautiful parts of Wales though and would make for a great adventure. ATB, Ryan.
@@wildaboutwales I've experienced a lot over time so I'm happy to pass it on Ryan it's for me human nature, just like what you are doing now for the up and coming wild camping 🙏🍻
Yes, I worked as a tree surgeon for years, and I learnt to have a lot of respect for trees, just one large branch could cause you serious damage or worse. Thank you for reminding me, I could use this as advice in a video on my next woodland camp 🙂
This was a cracking spot ryan, your first video was randomly recommended to me. I've never heard of this area in wales, hopefully i can get there this year. All the best mate take care. Looking forward to whatever you make in the future.
Hey Ryan, another cracking video. Such a beautiful location you found, but then again it's hard not to find a beautiful location in Wales. I haven't been to Wales in a long time and your videos remind me what I'm missing out on not being there. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks so much! Yes, I'm lucky to be living within the fringes of the Beacons, it's really not too hard to find a good camping spot. I had another great camp last night, video will be up on the weekend...all the best, Ryan.
Good .content Ryan. A favourite place of mine. One time when i went some years ago there were a number of short stakes in the ground just beyong where you camped. Apparantly it was the film location for lorna doone.
Thanks, mate! It's probably my favourite spot in the BBNP, it's pretty special. I'd heard not so long ago that a few films had been filmed there, but had no idea what ones. I'll have to give that a watch...thanks!

Vaccuum sealer looks like the way to go for good, mostly inexpensive hearty meals!! Thank you for giving us this video!! Always enjoy them!
Thank you, glad you're enjoying the content. Yes, they're only cheap to buy and you can take just about any meal out on a camp with you. ATB, Ryan.

Nicely done. There’s a lot of work involved in making these videos but these results show it’s worthwhile, some beautiful footage
