Subbed straight after after watching your epic journey from John O’Groats to Land's End! Your videos and content is great, no background music just the sound of your footsteps on loose gravel. Keep it up Liam 👍👌
I love bara brith, i make a mean one myself. Your supposed to slice it and butter it! Bara brith means speckled bread in Welsh. Great camp Liam. I love the breacons
Traditionally, Bara Brith is sliced and buttered and eaten it with a cup of tea. Over on the Carmarthen Fans (pronounced Vans) above Abercrave towards Llyn y Fan Fach and Llandeusant is good for wild camping.
The effort you put into your content alongside your editing skills you’d swear you’d been film making for years …you where made to do this Liam 💯 fav content creator by far … can’t wait to watch you grow and see where it leads you 😊
Another brilliant video Liam! Not overly edited, no stupid music or cringeworthy scripted nonsense, just raw and natural, brilliant! If you get chance in-between the national park videos could you do a kit video please? What you take, what you'd like to upgrade/buy next and how you find these amazing places?
Good lad Liam. I`ve wild-camped Lynn Fan Fawr and Lynn Fan Fach a few times, love it, and it`s a lot quieter than Pen Y Fan and the like a bit further east. Just a tip Liam, get yourself a Platypus water carrier or similar, plastic bottles tend to crease and split.
I went up there Friday night but stayed at Llyn y fan Fawr. Absolutely love your filmmaking. I cannot believe you filmed yourself walking halfway down and had to retrieve the camera!
Thousands of Welsh grannies almost choked on their dentures when you said it was JUST Bara Brith 😁 Was really lucky as a kid and younger adult to have lived close enough to North Wales to enjoy spots like that. Lake District in one direction, Snowdonia in the other. Peak District if we got bored and the Yorkshire Dales were always boss too. Now that I live in Norway it doesn't take much to find something picturesque. Still miss the cakes and Kendal Mint Cake though.
Me and my boyfriend did this walk on March 5th and yeah, some stunning views from the top and down the bottom between the two lakes. Bit gutted we left before sunset because it would have been spectacular!
Your camerawork is absolutely awesome liam! Especially the end of the video where your so far away, these videos have an unreal amount of effort put into them and I enjoy every one of them!! Keep up the good work friend
Great video to watch...and the guy you saw walking towards you in and around the 8th minute ...uh, was ME! Shame I didn't hear your offer of some of that Welsh rarebit...looked yummy! Best of luck with your progress.
I use the same stove and pot combination. I made a wind shield from a foil baking tin. Just cut a square out of the bottom and roll it up. It will then naturally hug itself around the canister and pot. In my pack it goes wrapped tightly around my long handle spoon.
Indeed, there is nothing like a nice slice of buttered bara brith with a mug of strong tea and a bit of Cheddar cheese. I laughed when I saw Liam taking a bite of the whole tea bread and making a face!❤️
I live a couple mins away from Glamorgan Brewery. Not a fan of most of their stuff, including their Pale Ale (IPA’s are my favourite drink) but for xmas they do a seasonal red beer called ‘Santa’s Little Belter’ and I can tell you, it is an absolute betler. They do an offer of £25 for two 5l kegs of it. Highly recommend. Glad you enjoyed the Brecons. I’m only half hour away, so it’s one of my regular camping spots. There and Snowdon can only be beaten by the mountains of Scotland for me.
Absolutely inspirational Liam Legend, Subbed you after just watching your journey from John O Groats to Lands end, brilliant footage felt all your emotions especially around the poor Lamb and when you was struggling with the loneliness and boredom, and end of journey I was tearful for you, Absolutely brilliant you truly are inspiring to watch, will follow your journey ongoing and learn from you as I venture to camping and back packing to get fitter, to improve my singing 💛⛺️🏕🐕💛🙏
You can't eat Bara Brith like that 😂😂😂 You need to slice it up, but some nice butter on it and have it with a cup of tea. Enjoyed the video, keep them coming 👍
nice to see you in my locale :-) when I was able that was my regular walk. further along the ridge line there are some old plane wrecks from the 40s to see bara-brith - best eaten with lashings of salty Welsh butter
@@stuartfreeman9357 Hi Stuart. It's just off the main Swansea to Brecon (A4067) road. There's a road signposted Trecastle just after the Dan yr Ogof Caves complex and the ridge is over to the left
Love your videos Liam. I'm in to same thing. I live a short drive from there. Beautiful place. I feel super lucky living in Wales. One place I wish you would do a video on os the Gower Peninsula. I grew up across the estuary in the town of Llanelli and the Gower is absolutely beautiful. One of my favourite places in the UK. Every year I do a walk from Mumbles to Gowerton. But this Spring I'm going to start in Gowerton and do a walk passed Mumbles to Swansea. 55 miles roughly without detours. Some amazing wild camping spots on this stunning Peninsula
Thank you for sharing. I find fruitcake with butter/butter like spread plus a big cup of tea, is best, and if you can toast the fruit cake first even better :)
So yesterday I climbed Pen y Fan from the main road loop in the reverse direction suggested by hikers in the lay-by where you can find a coffee and snack outlet. It was busy but the company was welcome.
The Beacons are a stunning place... definitely one of my favourite areas. You should check out the area around the Elan Valley also- not too far away from here... Glad you seem to have your stove woes sorted. P.S Brith is pronounced "Breeth" :)
bit late to the party, currently watching your back catalog. Bara brith is a fruit bread with the dried fruit having been soaked in nice strong welsh tea. best way to eat is "in my opinion" slice it and smother in it in Welsh slightly salted butter 🙂
Good effort with the Rarebit - hard to make with your equipment & given it was your first attempt at it, but I would have done it slightly differently. Never seen anyone eat Bara Brith like you have though 😂 You're supposed to cut a slice, spread some butter on it then have it with a cup of tea. Great to see you using local ingredients though, the Glamorgan Brewing company have a fantastic selection - I'd recommend Cwrw Gorslas if you want to try others from them Great vid.mate - keep it up!
Seen a lot of people try and fail to make Welsh rarebit properly, but this looked very decent - missing a dollop of mustard but that's forgivable considering you're in the middle of Brecon Beacons.
I see you've upgraded your Peregrine 11s to the Banana 12s. Good man. I love the peregrines for walking and trail running. Great videos, keep up the good work. Looking forward to when you get down here to Dartmoor although there are too many good and varied places to camp so intrigued to see where you end up. At least it will be legal (assuming you pick a spot that IS permitted)
Good video again pal. I look forward to watchin your new vids. When you show your new gear, it be great if you told us the price and where you got it. If you camp up in scotland you gotta to take some scotch whisky and haggis with you. All the best from lancashire.
Feels mad seeing you drinking the Glamorgan ale, grew up in a town literally a 20 minute walk from Llantrisant yet I've never seen the ale in my life! Solid video mate! Recently moved up to the lakes and with the beacons being my 'local' mountains from back home, really had my home sickness cured!
Next time you are down in wales mate, give bara brith another try but this time spread some butter on it and it’s to be enjoyed with a nice cup of tea👍
Hi Liam, I'm enjoying going through your back catalogue of videos. You're inspiring me to get out. I have all the kit I need (although some upgrades might be good - your mug/cooking pot for example!) Anyway, I've got a question... where did you park for this one? And/or where and how do you look for parking spots? - do you plan that sort of thing in advance? Cheers.
I saw the Chinese character “兄弟捷登” on your stove. So surprising! It's a Chinese brand but I don't know much about it. I am a Chinese BTW, also a beginner in hiking and camping. Most of my outdoor stuff were bought from Decathlon lol. Maybe I should discover other brands someday.
Liam vrs the world part 8 🖒 lovely place, reminded me of my solo from herberts quarry to llyn y fan fach (your pronunciation was pretty bad mate 😂) I ended up in the stone shelter by the lake side the wind was so bad! Looking forward to yourcnext adventure pal 🖒
Hi Liam - This looks beautiful. Could you tell me where you started from please as I will be going to the Brecons in March. This looks ideal for camping. Thanks mate.
So close to 100k subs. You fully deserve this, your raw footage, no music, no effects, no bs. You'll be at 1 mil before you know it, keep it up mate!
he got them 100k easily 😀
Subbed straight after after watching your epic journey from John O’Groats to Land's End! Your videos and content is great, no background music just the sound of your footsteps on loose gravel. Keep it up Liam 👍👌
That was the one which got me hooked too!

An inspiration to the younger generation to get up get out and be with the wild beauty around us all good man 👏👏👏👏
Lovely to see a bit of Wales! I'm about 20mins down the valley from Brecon. Lovely place.

yeah a little further for me Carmarthen... I love this hill, spent the night up there in 2014

Another cracking video, simple but incredibly effective, you have a natural talent, looking forward to the next one 👍
Another awesome video; thank you, Liam, for consciously taking us along with you to enjoy the experience.
Bara brith needs half inch of butter. Food of the Gods 😁
Spectacular, the Beacons are an incredible place, good to see them in the sunshine for once! Great video Liam.

Another great spot Liam. Thanks for taking us along.
Love it! Come for the views, recipes and beer reviews ! Such a pro film made on what looks like a simple set up. Cheers !
Your videos give me happiness, keep up the hard work!! It’s paying off for you.
Wild camped in Brecon Beacons in the early 90s with the Army. Some weird paranormal stuff goes on there!
Great video to watch...and the guy you saw walking towards you in and around the 8th minute ...uh, was ME! Shame I didn't hear your offer of some of that Welsh rarebit...looked yummy! Best of luck with your progress.

What pot and stove is it?
@Andy Roberts Stove = BRS 3000 & Pot is Toaks 650 although I use a 550 as its a bit more compact
Great video once again, coming from a Welsh man, try the bara brith sliced and with real butter, it's a game changer!
Indeed, there is nothing like a nice slice of buttered bara brith with a mug of strong tea and a bit of Cheddar cheese. I laughed when I saw Liam taking a bite of the whole tea bread and making a face!❤️
