There's a simpler way to beating slaking, just have 1 pokemon that knows protect/detect so it takes no damage the turn slaking attacks then on the turn it's resting you just attack it. Since you're never using protect 2 turns in a row it'll always work. You can even use a similar strategy with dig or other 2 turn moves if your pokemon faster.
So it turns out that Zangoose actually CAN learn shadow ball. I probably had my eyes closed while looking at its moveset. Even so I still believe Slaking is the better choice because Zangoose has weak defenses, which would make it difficult to take out Phoebe's pokemon since it would not be able to handle strong neutral attacks the same way Slaking can. Edit: After reading Joren's comment I checked Exploud's moveset again, and it turns out he can also learn shadow ball. I promise when I was making the video that I actually checked Exploud's moveset and saw no option for shadow ball before stating it in the video haha. @@jorendeschepper481 You're right! I didn't think to check Exploud's preevolution move set since most pokemon that are not stone evolutions are not restricted in terms of what moves they can learn, especially when it comes to tms. Thanks for the info!

Your Gardevoir is so cute as a boy. I love that cute and elegant appearance. It makes me happy seeing Gardevoir as a male. Don't get mad if you sweep with a male Gardevoir and they call you names similar to gay but offensive because of it. They were just dazzled by Gardevoir's elegant appearance. Just be grateful it exists. Gardevoir is pretty much Fish Eye's fairy design in monster form. The only difference is that Gardevoir has shorter hair.
I found the hardest gym to be Wattson personally. I wonder if Tate and Liza will be harder on my second time around which I’m currently doing. I did have the most trouble with Brawly there. But that’s cause I grinded to be very over leveled, but I still almost lost. So like Wattson is still the hardest for me.
The team I use is Swampert, Gardevoir, Exploud, Manetric, Breloom and Crobat. I don't know if this is the best team to use but these six are my favourite.
I personally love this team. A great balance between power and fun. If you don't mind I'll add your team to my list of competitors for an upcoming series.
The ACTUAL best team is a single overlevelled Swampert, HM slaves, and Rayquaza for endgame. The way experience and stats work (especially pre-gen 5 and in gen 5 once you get the Lucky Egg), it's not only easier but more profitable to put all your experience on a single Pokemon rather than train up multiple. There are very few grass types and you have a type advantage vs Tate and Liza, so you don't even suffer for your lack of diversity. Pokemon is not a well designed franchise.
I do not consider the hm pokemon as members of the team if they only function as hm slaves. Swampert and Rayquaza would not stand a chance by themselves against the elite 4 if they are at the same level as the members of my chosen team. I determine the best team based on their ability to work together to overcome the big obstacles in the game at the most underleveled form possible. My reasoning is based on this scenario: a comparison between a 5th grader and a college student who can both solve algebraic problems. It should be obvious which person has the superior ability.
Goated emerald team the first time I played when i was 8 years old Blaziken Exploud Aggron Swellow Gardivor Raquazza Having no water type was a crime I know
I use mudkip and swellow until I could catch trapinch to get a flygon then went to the cave to get bagon as final member and then a legendary like Groudon or rayquaza
If you want an ice type or seperate poison type you can always let gardevior deal with the waters with thunderbolt. That's how I dealt with wallace myself but again not sure how it would work with the leveling constraints. Also altaria doesn't need calm minds to tank. Also why tank I am certain swampert can one shot most of of the pschycic pokemon. Lunatone solrock and claydol are fodder. Only xatu so instead find a way to get xatu. What ice type though thats up to you.
I want to try to beat this. Are you avoiding as many trainer battles as possible to get the lowest xp or are you playing through the game normally and having all the xp split across the entire party to keep the levels low?

I get where you're coming from. My reason for paralyzing Slaking is that there is a chance Slaking will be fully paralyzed on a non truant turn, and when this happens, more free chip damage for my pokemon. Also, without paralysis, Slaking outspeeds the entire team. As for facade, considering how underleveled the team is when I challenge Norman, the added status damage has a negligible effect since most of the members will be taken down in one shot anyway by his move because of the large difference in stats. (reccomended swampert cuz it can solo) Moveset Linoone Level 55 Substitute (remove this when Wallace, Change wth Sunny day when wallace) Belly Drum Return Shadow Ball (Change to Protecc when wallace) level 55 Swampert moveset is anything

@@DFuegoH Fewer pokemon is always better because you get to a higher level with less XP. If you want to beat the game efficiently, raising a full team of 6 is a complete waste of time.

That's definitely an interesting approach, but I'm not sure Linoone is bulky enough to handle a strong neutral attack by a pokemon 10 levels higher than him/her while setting up, especially at half health. However, feel free to make a full team surrounding Linoone. I'll be happy to include it as a contest entry in my upcoming series that allows viewers to compete for the title of best team in each pokemon game.

So as linoone outspds and go for sub- belly drum sweep , with sitrus berry keeping it healthy Edit : The Champion is different story tho and i think linoone can still solo it with return, protect ,belly drum, sunny day holding sitrus berry . Wallace goes for either water spout / rain dance . So you first goes for sunny day . If he rain dance ,u go for sunny day again. He'll definitely go for rain dance again . So u belly drum in that turn and protect-return-protect-return (protect to stall out the rain before swift swim ludicolo comes in) RIP WALLACE
Recently building teams without Swampert as a starter and using Blaziken as a Starter instead and later for Septile: Blaziken Gardevoir Tentacruel (?) Aggron Crobat and Craydilly Even though Craydilly is kinda dumb decision to pick but let's see after I complete my Dex.
I'll test Linoone's viability in one of my upcoming videos. I didn't choose him/her for my team because I think that Linoone would struggle under my standards for what creates a best team. @@DFuegoH I caught stuff as soon as it was available, made sure to always rotate party members for Trainer/Gym Battles to keep the team evenly levelled across the board. Explore everywhere as soon as possible.

@@DFuegoH I’ve got my teams saved with movesets that I aim to use for each game. Some are Egg Moves however, I have all of the hardware to trade and such.
The best team in emerald its obviously Linoone and any starter. (reccomended swampert cuz it can solo)

@@DFuegoH Fewer pokemon is always better because you get to a higher level with less XP. If you want to beat the game efficiently, raising a full team of 6 is a complete waste of time.

That's definitely an interesting approach, but I'm not sure Linoone is bulky enough to handle a strong neutral attack by a pokemon 10 levels higher than him/her while setting up, especially at half health. However, feel free to make a full team surrounding Linoone. I'll be happy to include it as a contest entry in my upcoming series that allows viewers to compete for the title of best team in each pokemon game.
@@DFuegoHThe elite 4 always go for status move (sand attck,confuse ray, etc.) and they'll keep doing it until they pull off 1 . So as linoone outspds and go for sub- belly drum sweep , with sitrus berry keeping it healthy
Edit : The Champion is different story tho and i think linoone can still solo it with return, protect ,belly drum, sunny day holding sitrus berry .
Wallace goes for either water spout / rain dance . So you first goes for sunny day . If he rain dance ,u go for sunny day again. He'll definitely go for rain dance again . So u belly drum in that turn and protect-return-protect-return (protect to stall out the rain before swift swim ludicolo comes in)

Haven't heard of substitute, belly drum linoone huh. It does get belly drum at level 53 to be fair.
I'll test Linoone's viability in one of my upcoming videos. I didn't choose him/her for my team because I think that Linoone would struggle under my standards for what creates a best team. I'll elaborate on those standards once I begin my series that allows for viewers to compete with each other and myself for the title of best team in each pokemon game.
