100% agree. Loved Pablo Honey when it came out. Was like a straight up rock album. Then The Bends came out and blew me away with its totally different vibe. Especially all the B sides from that album.
Radiohead is one of the greatest bands ever. Thom Yorke's lyrics and vocals with Jonny Greenwood's guitar and the entire band's compositions are just so good.
My fav Radiohead song, though "Karma Police" is a close second. Meanwhile, please look up Travis, a Scottish band. Fran Healey's vocals are so unique and the songs are poetry. 😉 (Look up Travis's Storytellers episode to get that joke.) I think Amber would absolutely adore "Turn" and "Flowers in the Window".
Such a great time to be a teenager in the UK when this album came out. Music at this time was so amazing. The scene in London was fantastic and I feel so blessed that I was part of the inner circle of it all. Seeing all these amazing bands and meeting and hanging out with so many cool people. I never see anyone on here reacting to Street Spirit (Fade Out) from the same album, which I find surprising because it's a hauntingly beautiful song with an equally stunning video. Give it a go, why don't you.
For some reason that song always reminds me of the Bunyip song from Dot and the Kangaroo...I think just the starting notes, maybe just me but that terrified me as a child so I think Street Spirit has an even bigger impact!
I read an article where Thom Yorke said he saw Jeff Buckley in concert and it completely changed the way he approached his vocals. So yeah.. Check out Jeff Buckley.
I love the church organ music in this. Such a simple affecting song. Their albums The Bends and OK Computer are just incredible. Music you would want in your top 10 if you were isolated on an island.
I think you have already heard that it’s: If I could be who you wanted….not if I could be who I wanted to be. Makes it even more heartbreaking. Love Radiohead and this song.
Thanks Jay and Amber to reacting to my favourite band. If you want more haunting beauty "Street Spirit (Fade out) " should be next on your list. If you want their rock side "Just" will show you their versatility and both have videos as deep as the songs. "Paranoid Android" has beauty and rock and all 3 songs will blow your minds in different ways. You've only scratched the surface of a deep, deep rabbit hole.
I agree with both of those choices. "Just" would be a great one for J&A to experience a little more of a rock vibe in Radiohead's sound (and I think Jay, in particular, would really love the guitar), and "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" is just beautiful and haunting (as well as being a personal favorite).
Thanks for getting back to Radiohead Jay and Amber. Such an important band at an important time, much like their influence, The Smiths. I would highly highly recommend you do "Nude" or " Weird Fishes" off of 'In Rainbows" to really hear their genius. Keep up the absolutely great reviews! Cheers

World Party was great and Ship Of Fools was fantastic but let's face it, Jay and Amber are really effin dumb and they only care about views and likes. No way they would react to this
Oh wow, I missed that about Wallinger. How sad. I'll have to dig out Goodbye Jumbo and give it another blast as a tribute. I love "Ship Of Fools", "Put The Message In The Box" and my personal favourite, "Way Down Now" - if Jay and Amber were to review any of those it would be great!
Another great British band from the same era well-worth checking out is SUEDE (often called The London Suede in the USA). Start with "The Wild Ones" if you liked this song. Brett Anderson is one of the best singers, period!

Something you guys will definitely enjoy: "Lover, You Should've Come Over" by Jeff Buckley (specially the live version). When Radiohead was trying to record "Fake Plastic Trees" in 1994 they were having a hard time with it so they took a break and attended a Jeff Buckley gig in London. Jeff Buckley's vocals left Thom Yorke so stunned that he went back to the studio, recorded a take of the song with nothing but an acoustic guitar and wept afterwards. The band then overdubbed their parts on top of it and that's the version you've just heard.
My favorite Radiohead song - I'm not sure how I missed it the first time around, being a subscriber, but I'm thrilled to watch you enjoy it as I did back in college!
"It's going to be emotional" - This is a song I listened to over and over after a tough life event. Thom York is the voice that could carry me to the next world...
I think you guys, especially you Jordan, are ready for the luscious, sophisticated "House of Cards" from the In Rainbows album. I already know Amber will love it.
Managed to see Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead’s new band - The Smile - live in London last weekend. They are both musical geniuses and have been producing incredible music for nearly forty years!
I've been really going through it lately, 50 years old and feeling pretty defeated at times. As I get older I sometimes wonder how I got here, when as a kid I had all these hopes and dreams. Radiohead is so "perfectly imperfect", and they remind me to embrace the journey. It's brutal that we can relate to such pain and loneliness, but the comedy is that we are actually together in our loneliness. Thank-you for your reaction! I needed this today. Rob, you had an exhale at the end of the song; It's subtle, but emphasizes the emotional connection you had with the song and I really appreciated seeing a genuine reaction. I'm not sure if you've ever listened to Exit Music For a Film, my all time favorite song of any genre, but I have subscribed and will check some more of your reactions out. Thank-you again, you both are definitely the type of people I could see myself having a beer around a fire with, just listening to each other's playlists and talking about life. Cheers
Imagine hearing this album for the first time on CD back when it was released. Incredible. Their last real "rock" album. OK Computer kind of changed everything for them. Their musical maturity over their careers is pretty amazing. Please play more of their songs on your channel. 🙏 🍻
"BURN THE WITCH," "EVERYTHING IN ITS RIGHT PLACE," and "KNIVES OUT" are your next RADIOHEAD Brilliant journeys... and if you're feeling very adventurous, "THE NATIONAL ANTHEM"... which is AMAAAAAAAZING!!! Can't go wrong!
One of my favorites. I’d love for you to react to Paranoid Android…the first song that showed me this was truly a unique band. And Weird Fishes/Arpeggi is their best song in my opinion…it’s the closest I get to having a Pink Floyd experience listening to Radiohead
YES!!!!!!! Finally getting to my fave Radiohead song! I love this one so much. The whole "Bends" album is flawless, but this one (and "Black Star") just kill me. So happy you got to hear this tune!
Hoping someday y'all will check out SUBTERRANEAN HOMESICK ALIEN by Radiohead - it's very "Pink Floydian" to me - a head trip in headphones for sure!! Also "Exit Music (From A Film)" is such an amazing track - it's featured as the uncredited song played during the end credits of WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO + JULIET film - which y'all gotta watch - Radiohead has another great song on the soundtrack, alongside Garbage, and Butthole Surfers!! Keep smiling y'all!!

Don’t think you’ve done Street Spirit (Fade Out) yet. That is an absolute MUST listen! Xxx
God I love Radiohead!!!
Radiohead is undoubtedly the most influential band of the 90s.
Such a great tune and Thom Yorke has such an amazing voice!
I think you guys, especially you Jordan, are ready for the luscious, sophisticated "House of Cards" from the In Rainbows album. I already know Amber will love it.
One of my all time favourite RH songs..just beautiful
Cheers
One of the most important bands to come from the 90s. Thank you for getting around to this beautiful song.
I love the singer's soothing voice, and his lower case eyes...
Imagine hearing this album for the first time on CD back when it was released. Incredible. Their last real "rock" album. OK Computer kind of changed everything for them. Their musical maturity over their careers is pretty amazing. Please play more of their songs on your channel. 🙏 🍻
Ok Computer is bad ass.
Incredible band! The sounds are so incredible and York's vocals are stunning.
You really should react to one of Radiohead's inspirations - Jeff Buckley (Start with Grace)
The 'live at 2 meter sessies' is actually even more angelic and emotional!
You probably won’t see this but you guys should react to Billy Joel - New York State of mind live at the old whistle test. You’ll love it
Or live with Tony Bennett 😢
Radio heads are one of my all-time favorite Rock bands.
So glad you're continuing your Radiohead journey! This one is near the top of my favorite songs by them! 🎉
God i love this tune. Thom Yorke is an amazing writer. The 90s really has the best music other than the 60s!
The 70’s is the best. Great mix of genres.
@@jamesdamiano8894 1965-1978 is tops followed by the 90s just my opinion but the early 60s stuff was important but sounds pretty dated now.
@@jameshannagan4256 of course it’s all subjective. I love all decades of music. My formultive years being born in the 60’s but basically growing up in the 70’s makes me partial to that decade. I wasn’t trying to start an argument or saying you didn’t know what you were talking about. Just giving my opinion also.
@@jamesdamiano8894 I'm with you for the most part i'm almost 60 so I kind of got the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and forward. I pretty much was in agreement with you but the first 5 years of the 60s were pretty bad that was my point. I think Radiohead is up there with bands like Pink Floyd, Zepplin and the Beatles they are the last great band of the band era the music industry has changed so much and bands are kind of history.
@@jameshannagan4256 yeah at least in the 60’s through the 80’s and maybe some 90’s you had consistently good bands and music. Now a days I can’t think of any overall good new bands. Just the holdovers from previous times. You might occasionally get a decent song but that’s about it.
This is such a beautiful song... I have no other words.
Oh my God I’ve cried to this song so many times after my husband died. So relatable to the loss of her mind. Of course I’ve come a long way from those days. This song is deep, dark but beautifully crafted. ♥️
This is their best track imo
Thank you so much for playing this, it took me back to places and emotions that mean a lot.
If you are going to play another Radiohead song then Street Spirit (Fade Out) would be so appreciated x
