Part 1: Drug (Master) talking to addict.
Part2: Addict finally gets their high. (Soft beautiful moment)
Part3: Addict comes off high and begs for their fix (Aggressive solo)

This was really beautiful to see you two just take the tune in, in its entirety, without feeling any need to break into it. That’s why you’re the best at this!

Wow amber. I’m amazed at the depth of your understanding of the lyrics. You totally get it. A lot of people react to this and even hearing the line “chop your breakfast on a mirror” they miss the meaning entirely. Major Kudos to you and J for reacting to this. Oh and for J. Dunno if you saw but AC/DC is charting on billboard again. People are buying album Highway to Hell like crazy. Rock/metal ALWAYS comes back around.

Believe it or not, this album is officially in the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry as of 2015, which means it was determined by the federal government to be preserved for all time because of its historical significance. It is the first metal album to be given this distinction. When “Master of Puppets” was released, it sold half a million copies with almost no commercial airplay, no music videos, and no mainstream promotion. Its success was 100% an organic product of fans. I personally think it is their best album, followed closely by Kill Em All (their first album) and I love that this received that type of recognition. Every song on the album is thought provoking and the band was only in their mid-20s when it was released to put things into perspective.

Now this is Metallica! They put it all out there on this album, and no one else was achieving this sound in 1986. They blew our minds, built a huge fan base and changed the metal scene! All without ZERO radio play and ZERO MTV airplay. I remember Metallica being featured in all the metal magazines, their albums were selling out in the record stores, and they toured everywhere. It wasn’t until their Black album in 1991 when they started to achieve real commercial success.

Me too, but also besides, the unforgiven (first song), the day that never comes, creeping death, orion, , the call of ktulu, one! I like that metallica, that feel, that structure, dynamics, melodic sense, power, transitions…. Because iron maiden is my favorite band and artists and musicians ever, and i know the big influence!

One of the reasons this song is so good is the way they transition from the soft melodic middle section back into the heavy sound, which then leads double-time into the solo. A lot of 80s thrash songs have a melodic middle section that doesn't really seem connected to the rest of the song, but this one does it right.

Metal is an incredibly vast and deep genre, where masterpieces are hidden deep within obscurity to be heard by very few. There is so much great metal that is extremely obscure and buried. These first four albums by the most famous and well known metal band of all time stand shoulder to shoulder with the absolute peak of the underground. A rare example of the best rising to the top in music.
