Thanks for watching. I also saw a video last night about a replaceable evap filter that gets completely full of dust and can cause this same issue- so if banging it doesn't work maybe check out that!
Thanks for the video. I've been racking my brain for months. On my 2014 Ram. I literally had some elderly lady think I was stealing fuel because I was trickling it into my tank. Threatened to call the sheriff... I hope this works...
The other thing I found helped until I got it working properly again, is it would fill properly if I had the nozzle in the tank almost completely upside down. Worth a try in the interim! Sounds like you ran into a crazy Karen! How the heck would you be stealing gas lol.
Thanks for this information, I have two 2021 1500 classics and one of them is definitely giving us a fit trying to get gas into it. Perhaps everybody having this trouble should report it to the national highway transportation safety. Maybe enough of us reporting it will force ram to come up with a fix.
I hope that this works. Out of the blue I’m having the same issue. It’s been nothing but headaches with this 2021 Ram 1500 Limited. Thanks for the video. I will update when I try this fix
Same BS with my 2017 tradesman....wait until you change spark plugs on the V6.....nothing simple anymore. The rear 2 on a hemi was bad enough...now you have a project at hand with this newer junk. Nothing simple anymore and 2x the cost. Thanks for the video....will give this a shot, no wire to use, will see if I can find something flexible though.
Interesting. My 2018 been doing the same thing hit or miss each time. I used a bottle of Seagram before each fill up which worked for a while. Not working anymore. I’ll try this method
A bottle of Seagram? IS that autocorrect for SeaFoam? I've never thought of pouring booze down there! lol. Yeah I'm not sure if it's the stuffing the wire down or if it was the beating around the tank that fixed it. I've also read if you hold the gas nozzle upside down to fill it sometimes helps... I'm not sure how or why but it's worth a shot!
Good luck! Mine reoccurred a few weeks later so I gave it the same treatment again and so far so good. When I was having the problem I did find i could fill the tank if i put the nozzle into the truck upside down... not sure why that helped but it seemed to work. Hope you can get yours working!
The roller over valve at the end of the filler neck isn't what is pictured (the blue port). From my understanding there is a ball check valve at that location (the blue port) which your banging may have jostled loose alleviating your problem by allowing venting and releasing the back pressure on the rollover valve at the filler neck. The roll over valve at the bottom of the filler neck is spring loaded and can get stuck as well which using a piece of wire to wire to dislodge would fix, for a while. Cause? Poor design and ETHENOL.
Thanks for taking the time to post this. I am certain you have helped hundreds of us Ram owners.

Same here I realized that when it shuts off don’t keep clicking the handle, that’s what made mine do it
Yup, when it shuts off, it's done! Guessing that's what caused mine too.

Good luck! Maybe be careful with the wire piece, one guy said he got it stuck after putting in, not sure if he was joking or not!

Thank you for posting this. I'm definitely going to try it.
Thanks for this! I have the same 2019 classic. I'm going to try this!
I have the same exact truck and this issue. Going to try this for sure
Did this help you out, and are you still having that same problem?
I like you better every video Bill great job
Ram express 2018 same issue 1600$ with labor included is what I was told
$1600 would be a deal compared to the $3k+ I've heard. Were they replacing the tank for that or some other components?

@@billstractorcorner ha ha. Yes autocorrect for Seafoam
@@mpbclutch33 haha, gets me every time too! Glad I'm not the only one!

You could be (and probably are) absolutely right - i just spoke based on forum reading, I'm by no means an expert.
Sounds like it should be a recall if it is a safety feature that does not work.
Agreed!
