The insurance company sent me the valuation for my truck today, it doesn’t look good.

I like the video and I agree i would not want them to judge a vehicle in one state compared to one from a different state as prices change. and 64,000 is way to low considering they sell online for around 140 to 160,000. can we get an exact list of what you have spec wise in your truck so we can help to make a fair comparison to it please.

Call Dan from benchmark auto he is the arbitrator we hired to settle our claim after progressive and the same farmed out appraiser low balled us on our truck after it burnt down. The insurance companies know they are crooks and they are just trying to pay out the least amount. I'm dead serious call Dan they have a office in California and New York. So sad to see how many people they are doing this too.

I'm not sure if you looked into this yet, but you can invoke the "Independent Appraiser" clause that's generally included in most vehicle insurance policies. This way you get a second opinion by someone who *doesn't* work for the company that owes you money.

If you pay insurance premiums based on the area that you live in, then they should also base the value of the vehicle on the market around your area.

Dauminique, congratulations on your plaque for 100,000 subscribers. It is beautiful and I am sure you will cherish i forever. I hope Bobby is OK from the accident. Your truck is so beautiful that we all know it needs to be fixed. Insurance companies are only looking out for their bottom line and don't really care for your individual situation. Hang in there and hopefully things will eventually work out. Take care and please let us know how everything works out. We need you and that truck working again.

That’s another reason why only experienced drivers should ever be involved with valuations on semis or any heavy duty trucks!!! Most of them have probably never been in, or around trucks, let alone drove one!!! I hope you get it fixed!!! With the way most insurance companies are for covering stuff, I don’t understand why we even pay insurance premiums or why we required to have it as far as covering losses on our part! That was total BS! Congratulations on the plaque! No doubt, you earned it!

So happy for you! You worked so hard to get to this point. Now on to 200k.
Insurance companies are such experts at cheating people out of their money. They tell you your vehicle is totaled, give you a fraction of what it's true value is, then want to come get it so they can auction it off and get all the settlement money back. It is your vehicle, how did they get rightful ownership of it? Then they have the audacity to tell you that you can buy your vehicle back. What good is insurance to protect your investment? No good!

I am Norweigan and drive box truck with trailer, but my other dump truck drive my nephew. Originally is from 2004 and it on 5 axles, carry 28 tonnes plus trailer. What is huge change compare to you is value. These old trucks in Europe are very cheap, sometimes scrap metal price. 4 years ago i have replace engine, because original one was euro 3 and nobody will load me with these emission and also toll is 3x more expensive than euro6. So i replaced engine for euro 6 and added value extra 10 percent by insurance company. Basically if i sell wheels, engine, body, cab, axles and other bids, i can have almost 10x more than insurance quote for value of my truck. I fitted brand new engine 700hp and by insurance is value for truck less than engine price. Crazy world

Also, I would rather have an 18-speed then a sorry auto in a truck any day. Most autos are used by seat and steering wheel holders anyway. Too many don't know how to drive a stick anymore. This is from an 'old' trucker who came off the road in the 90's. Good luck with the insurance ripoffs.

I have found that you should always supply an adjuster upfront, with a full file of all your repair receipts / upgrades / accessory equipment as well, if possible the build / spec sheet for your truck based off the VIN number from Kenworth...if you don't, they are just left to guess and fill in the blanks...which leads to the situation your in now ...knowledge is power. Good luck, and keep up the excellent content.

When you look up what is in your area take a screen shot of what is close as you can find to yours more than 1 is helpful. Then call or visit your local dealer and bring a picture of your truck and a list of what it has for equipment and ask for them to do a written estimate for the vehicle value in your area it was on their lot. If you can get 2-3 estimates from local dealers it would hold muck more credence to your claim. If you want to keep your truck, get a damage estimate the damage from a local body company or independent appraiser. Then ask your insurance company for what you can but your vehicle back from them for. At that point you can make an educated guess as to what is in your best interest at that point. If you have the sticker of your truck that shows all the upgrades that were on your vehicle, like factory packages that were on your make sure that those upgrades were accounted for and the condition of your truck prior to the accident. If they are saying the condition is good but yours was excellent like (no rust or dents or new parts that was in the truck new tires and so on) make sure you get the money you put in for repairs, that all counts. you do not need to settle for less if you can provide them with a valid reason to give you more. I just went through it with my insurance company with my insurance company who was trying to low ball me on my personal truck, a 2018 Silverado with 35,700 miles they came in at $29.400 and when i was done my check was for $36.000 and i was able to replace it with no $$ out of pocket, by getting them up 20% more. In your line of work time loss insurance and Gap insurance is worth paying for, gap insurance will pay the difference between what you owe and what the insurance will give you if you have inequity, if you have to refinance a previous balance to refinance. BTW congrats on 100K.

Congrats on the 100K! Stick by your guns and make them fix your truck. You can look around for PNW truck comps to send to Progressive. Lots of T-800's went thru your favorite auction house, try to get some sold prices and descriptions from them.
It will be interesting to hear the numbers the Body Shop comes up with. When you get it back running, I'd get away from Progressive, but it'll be hard because you'll have a near total claim on your record. Keep on Trucking' !

Congratulations on the 100K award. Remember that insurance companies and especially adjusters do not work for you. Their primary goal is to get you to settle for a smaller amount. I'm not sure if this will work with truck insurance, but I have had larger sized boats in the PNW but I was able to get insurance for an "agreed value" and maybe had pay a bit higher premium, but felt it was worth it.

You really need to consider getting a Public Adjuster to fight the Insurance company. Public Adjusters work for you to fight the Insurance companies when they give you lowball offers such as these. You are correct, in that, they don't understand your specific market and that the bridge requirements make a Big, Big, difference in the value of your truck in your location. They need to find a truck in your area that is comparable to your truck, not ones that are 3,000 miles away.
If they are going to fix your truck, then you could forego the adjuster, however, if the want to try to total the truck, then you need to get a Public Adjuster to fight for you!
    Good Luck!!!

I started looking at the cost of truck body panels. I was shocked that the prices for new factory panels was so low in price. you will really have to look at the repair estimate invoice. Body shop will over price like crazy if insurance is being used for repairs bill.

here a dump truck with 500k km on it are rare, usually they are exported before get that much use on them. normal is getting a new truck with a service contract. big companies trade at 3 years old often.

I used to run a rehab shop for big trucks, at times we would make an offer to the insurance company, take the cash, and we would work out a deal with the owner to correct the truck.
Also insurance companies today have no clue about trucks, the repairs, the build.
Most trucks today are built with automatic transmission or autoshift.
    transmission .
The days of 13 or 18 spd transmission are about done.
Good luck in your business, good luck with your insurance company.

Don't know about Washington? in Oregon they have to repair it or replace it, your truck can be fixed, we do chassis/frame work from 1/2 tons all the way up to the class 8 trucks and top of the line diesel motor coaches, the cab damage is what concerns me?, we don't do the body work.

I would wait until the adjuster has provided the quote or everything needed for the repairs. I have not watched anything on the repairs needed as of yet. As for UNK this is the code for unknown. Meaning the do not the manufacture of the item. The damage that I looked at when it was getting pulled out was not that bad, but again, I am not looking at the truck and identifing what is needed to make the repairs.

They did the same to me. Cow took mine out. But,,, a perfectly running all mechanical maintained, flawless work truck. I replaced the box with a rust free box,, but a white box on a black truck. 3,500. It cost 14,500 to replace it.

The insurance company has to take state laws in pricing your truck out because spec out for your state. My truck I used to drive was spec out for Ontario Canada. I couldn't cross the board into Michigan because the tug on pup was too long. I couldn't go to Quebec Canada. The left axles had to be steer axles. It's never fun dealing with insurance companies. Good luck

I've worked on setting scope of work for property claims, but it seem similar to the adjuster working on your truck claim. With your truck being part of your TH-cam income I would set the cost of the truck with something exactly like you had. The cleanliness, style, and equipment is what brought your viewers so you will need to maintain that value.

Congrats young lady. I couldn’t really find a truck here in Virginia comparable to yours. They had smaller trans, good engines, prices of what I could see were over $159,000 bucks? Crazy, this is why I never bought one here. Your ins company is trying to er ah yeah!!!! Hang in there, you need to find a comfortable truck. $60,000 really? I’ll buy 2!!!! Good luck!🤗👍

I worked for a Kenworth dealer in the Pacific Northwest for 30; years. Those 2trucks chosen by your adjuster are not compatible at all to your truck. Do not accept their appraisal

Step 1: Ask them what they will sell you the salvage back for (in writing in an email) after a settlement is reached. Step 2: Exercise your right to have them defer to an independent 3rd party appraiser to appraise your specific truck. Step 3: With that number, let them total it, take the payout and then fix your truck. They have to pay off your $44k loan and remit the remainder to you, so if the difference between the settlement amount and the bill to fix it comes up short, reborrow the difference again from the bank to close the gap. Even if they give you $105K in the end, you'd have nearly $60K to fix your truck and you'll also have a paid off truck. But like I said, if you come up short somewhere and have to borrow $10K or $20k to make the ends meet, you still have your truck, fixed and you owe $10K or $20k (or whatever it ends up being) instead of $44k. Good luck.

Take the money, and get that 2002 with the Detroit and Allison. That’s a win! 🎉🎉🎉 have you driven something with an Allison? That tag axle probably wasn’t meant to be there, and was added after, just my opinion. Hopefully you get yours repaired.

Hello Dauminique, the orange rotating light beacon on the side of that truck is likely because it's a public works truck ,dedicated to working on county roads, so needs a higher visibility profile.

If I remember correctly when I got my business auto insurance they used the replacement cost as the value. So a 1995 1 ton work truck with 200,000 miles had like $20,000 value when I paid $5,000 for it.

best advice for you to get the best valuation for your truck is to look up trucks that match your trucks specs perfectly including the pictures and milage of those trucks and get 3 to 5 different prices and be ready to send them to the insurance company, my mom cars got totalled a few months back and it was a limited editon all wheel drive van and the first valution they sent her was for the non limited edition with no awd, i found 3 diffierent ones on auto trader that matched hers exactly other than colour and milage but was still close to the milage and she emailed it to the insurance company and they wound up giving her 3000 more than she orginally paid for it used from a dealer

Went thru the same crap with Progressive on a rollback with Progressive a year ago where offered me several thousand less than replacement cost, and less than the value I had been paying premium on for several years. I held firm, even when they threatened to implement the "appraisal clause". When I agreed, they called back and agreed to pay my stated value.

Gratz on 100,000 subs award & A year ago i lost a home to a fire & the insurance company was quick to settle as total loss but they sure dont give you fair or a break on prices. I once got cheated by my insurance company of 40yrs for a theft loss purely because i lost my proof on the pc i had due to a total wipe by a virus. After yrs in storage i couldnt find my paper copies of the items that were stolen & they actually sent investigator on me . Cost me good amount of money & at a bad time but learned my lesson on choosing the right insurance company. Wish you luck getting things done & getting back in shape get the dumptruck back to work.

I went through this a couple years ago with my western star 4900 quad axle dump. C12, 300k miles, 1 owner beautiful truck. Insurance valued it at $55k I valued it at $75k min. Went around and around with them and they would not budge. Finally ended up settling for $56k & they allowed me to purchase the truck back for $500. The shop I had it at was not willing to fix it (twisted frame) so I ended up selling the truck for about $18k. It was 3-4 month process dealing with it. Good luck

The London truck is 15 miles from here. That thing has been through hell and back, I can promise. The yellow light is used when the truck has a salt spreader in the back. It’s been contracted to the state at some point for winter snow work.
