I feel your pain . We sold a W900L 2 years ago. A lot of tire kickers and plenty of low ballers. Took a while but finally a guy from Michigan flew down an picked her up. I think the truck from Kentucky could've been a coal dumper. 😮
I worked for a friend from Canada in setting up a US based log building yard in Norther West Virginia. I saw a lot of those truck and the boxes are designed so they can haul coal as well as rock. We had a company hauling in rock into our yard and it was unbelievable how they would overload the trucks. A truck like those you were presented could hav been used to haul about 15 yards of crushed rock per load. They were often ridden hard and put away wet. I would not buy one of their trucks on a bet. You would also have to check the frames because no truck of that age with a steel frame is going to survive the amount of salt that they use in that region. I sold my 1988 Peterbilt 377 with a 444 Cummins and an RTO14618 in it. It was in far better shape than either of those. I was the third owner, but everyone had taken care of the truck and it was clean. It also had polished Alcoas all aroundl
Congratulations on reaching 100,000. Stand your ground with insurance company. They’re trying to low ball you hoping you’ll be stupid and take it. They will change their tune when you start complaining Otherwise take what they give you and fix it and don’t do business with them anymore
I am sorry for all you are going through on this. Insurance companies can be very trying to say the least. Wishing you the best in all of this as we look forward to seeing you back on the road. Enjoy your channel very much and I am not even a trucker. Just an old retired man living in Florida. Best of Luck
I live about 15 miles from the red truck. The truck is labeled plow up/down and plow tilt. In Pa. the state and local governments contract trucks to plow snow. Many may have had sudden stoppage when the plow blade catches something on our fine roads. If it plowed it spreed salt.
Fixing a truck you know, gives peace of mind in the long term. = Try and get insurance to pony up a good percentage of repair costs and get rid of them. = LESS DOWN TIME I hope for you.
Daum, i can see your hurt in your eyes the pain of having your baby in it's position and the tears you're holding back, from your lively hood being disrupted, it's gonna work out you are a great hearted soul, so the universe will return favor for the work you done,Congrats 100K!
You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. Congrats on your accomplishments. A modern lady that is a role model to girls and boys everywhere. You are great. Hopefully Bobby will take you out to dinner to commemorate the occasion. Congrats !!!
Congratulations on the 100K subscribers! Sometimes dealing with insurance companies on the repair side really is a pain. Good luck with this & hope you get a valuation that is at it's real worth.
Congrats on the 100k Dauminique. You're right. they act like they want to total your truck. for them it'd be a quick settlement, then they'd sale it at auction and get money back. Also, I would rather have an 18-speed then a sorry auto in a truck any day. Most autos are used by seat and steering wheel holders anyway. Too many don't know how to drive a stick anymore. This is from an 'old' trucker who came off the road in the 90's. Good luck with the insurance ripoffs.
Congrats on the 100,000 subscribers. Insurance companies love taking your money and want it right now but when its time to pay they seem to take their sweet time about it . Good luck hope your back on the road soon
Congrats on the 100K! Stick by your guns and make them fix your truck. You can look around for PNW truck comps to send to Progressive. Lots of T-800's went thru your favorite auction house, try to get some sold prices and descriptions from them. It will be interesting to hear the numbers the Body Shop comes up with. When you get it back running, I'd get away from Progressive, but it'll be hard because you'll have a near total claim on your record. Keep on Trucking' !
Dauminique, congratulations on reaching 100,000 subscribers! I’ve been following you pretty much from the beginning. I’ve enjoyed seeing you move forward with your career and your business. Hope you get your truck back on the road soon. I don’t know how many trucks Progressive insures. It sounds like whoever did the valuation doesn’t know much about commercial trucks.
I know in my state, you can buy it back from insurance company for 10% of what they totaled it for, but then you have to pay for repairs out of your pocket
When you look up what is in your area take a screen shot of what is close as you can find to yours more than 1 is helpful. Then call or visit your local dealer and bring a picture of your truck and a list of what it has for equipment and ask for them to do a written estimate for the vehicle value in your area it was on their lot. If you can get 2-3 estimates from local dealers it would hold muck more credence to your claim. If you want to keep your truck, get a damage estimate the damage from a local body company or independent appraiser. Then ask your insurance company for what you can but your vehicle back from them for. At that point you can make an educated guess as to what is in your best interest at that point. If you have the sticker of your truck that shows all the upgrades that were on your vehicle, like factory packages that were on your make sure that those upgrades were accounted for and the condition of your truck prior to the accident. If they are saying the condition is good but yours was excellent like (no rust or dents or new parts that was in the truck new tires and so on) make sure you get the money you put in for repairs, that all counts. you do not need to settle for less if you can provide them with a valid reason to give you more. I just went through it with my insurance company with my insurance company who was trying to low ball me on my personal truck, a 2018 Silverado with 35,700 miles they came in at $29.400 and when i was done my check was for $36.000 and i was able to replace it with no $$ out of pocket, by getting them up 20% more. In your line of work time loss insurance and Gap insurance is worth paying for, gap insurance will pay the difference between what you owe and what the insurance will give you if you have inequity, if you have to refinance a previous balance to refinance. BTW congrats on 100K.
I used to run a rehab shop for big trucks, at times we would make an offer to the insurance company, take the cash, and we would work out a deal with the owner to correct the truck. Also insurance companies today have no clue about trucks, the repairs, the build. Most trucks today are built with automatic transmission or autoshift. transmission . The days of 13 or 18 spd transmission are about done. Good luck in your business, good luck with your insurance company.
Congratulations on the 100 k subscribers. For reasons too complicated to mentioned here .y carrier dropped me, I spent a year with Progressive, the only option I had available at the time. Fortunately I didn't have a claim that year, and was able to find another carrier when renewal time rolled around. Maybe they've changed some things since then I think they're blood suckers. Good luck with it all. You've got a nice rig I'd fight like hell to keep it on the road. Good luck.
A guess on the orange (actually "amber") light on the dump body. Previous owner possibly had a contract for snow plowing services on state or fedreal roadways.
They did the same to me. Cow took mine out. But,,, a perfectly running all mechanical maintained, flawless work truck. I replaced the box with a rust free box,, but a white box on a black truck. 3,500. It cost 14,500 to replace it.
I feel your pain. My father owned an excavation company and had a number of dump trucks. Had a very similar experience when he had an accident that wasn’t even his fault. Someone ran into him when the truck was legally parked at a job site. He built all his trucks custom for what he did as most independent contractors do. They had comps of landscaper trucks, and box vans because it was the same “model” of truck - it was comical. They wanted to total the truck and give him penny’s basically. So his lawyer got the claim withdrawn - he just fixed it him self because it would be tens of thousands cheaper and it was less hassle - he took it to his mechanic and told him to fix it right and he would write the check. Had the truck back in short order, had to get creative finding parts but no insurance company have to submit too for approval. Plus after it’s fixed, they raise your rates after the claim. He then switched insurance companies and would find the cheapest rate possible, he would shop every 6-months to a year - never put a claim in again. All he cared about was having the legal document to run the trucks. The get you coming, going, right and left. The insurance business is to make money off the money your business makes - remember that.
Hi Dauminique. I am glad to see your video and congratulations on the 100,000 subscribers. Before I saw the video, as a guess I would have said $90-100K. $61,000 is too low to say the least. I second getting an independent appraiser so you have some info to counter the ins. company. You are on the right track by keeping & fixing your truck. You do a great job keeping it maintained & looking good. I wish I was able to be more help but keep after the ins. company and keep a smile as much as you can.
This it’s where they get you. We had a truck just get engine rebuilt by dealer and progressive said it already had an engine in it so that don’t add no value but the bill was 40k . They know replacement cost in the past 3 years have skyrocketed. For a good triaxle around in Alabama there at least 150k for about 250k miles about 50k markup in 3 years
Gratz on 100,000 subs award & A year ago i lost a home to a fire & the insurance company was quick to settle as total loss but they sure dont give you fair or a break on prices. I once got cheated by my insurance company of 40yrs for a theft loss purely because i lost my proof on the pc i had due to a total wipe by a virus. After yrs in storage i couldnt find my paper copies of the items that were stolen & they actually sent investigator on me . Cost me good amount of money & at a bad time but learned my lesson on choosing the right insurance company. Wish you luck getting things done & getting back in shape get the dumptruck back to work.
I've worked on setting scope of work for property claims, but it seem similar to the adjuster working on your truck claim. With your truck being part of your TH-cam income I would set the cost of the truck with something exactly like you had. The cleanliness, style, and equipment is what brought your viewers so you will need to maintain that value.
best advice for you to get the best valuation for your truck is to look up trucks that match your trucks specs perfectly including the pictures and milage of those trucks and get 3 to 5 different prices and be ready to send them to the insurance company, my mom cars got totalled a few months back and it was a limited editon all wheel drive van and the first valution they sent her was for the non limited edition with no awd, i found 3 diffierent ones on auto trader that matched hers exactly other than colour and milage but was still close to the milage and she emailed it to the insurance company and they wound up giving her 3000 more than she orginally paid for it used from a dealer
Hello Dauminique, the orange rotating light beacon on the side of that truck is likely because it's a public works truck ,dedicated to working on county roads, so needs a higher visibility profile.
Congrats on receiving your award. You definitely deserved it. I hope you can get your truck repaired and back on the road. I agree with everything you said about your agent and the information they have submitted to you. I could see their using out of area comps if they could not find anything near by but you know that is not the case. Stick to your guns. You are pretty sharp, trust your instincts.
the light.. in some states [minnesota for example] you have to have a certain size flashing yellow visible front and rear that you can turn on when entering the highway or leaving the highway.. or mndot bans you from the job site till you have it..
If I remember correctly when I got my business auto insurance they used the replacement cost as the value. So a 1995 1 ton work truck with 200,000 miles had like $20,000 value when I paid $5,000 for it.
Congratulations on the 100K award. Remember that insurance companies and especially adjusters do not work for you. Their primary goal is to get you to settle for a smaller amount. I'm not sure if this will work with truck insurance, but I have had larger sized boats in the PNW but I was able to get insurance for an "agreed value" and maybe had pay a bit higher premium, but felt it was worth it. You may need to hire an attorney to help you get the results you want. Good luck.
Went thru the same crap with Progressive on a rollback with Progressive a year ago where offered me several thousand less than replacement cost, and less than the value I had been paying premium on for several years. I held firm, even when they threatened to implement the "appraisal clause". When I agreed, they called back and agreed to pay my stated value.
I am Norweigan and drive box truck with trailer, but my other dump truck drive my nephew. Originally is from 2004 and it on 5 axles, carry 28 tonnes plus trailer. What is huge change compare to you is value. These old trucks in Europe are very cheap, sometimes scrap metal price. 4 years ago i have replace engine, because original one was euro 3 and nobody will load me with these emission and also toll is 3x more expensive than euro6. So i replaced engine for euro 6 and added value extra 10 percent by insurance company. Basically if i sell wheels, engine, body, cab, axles and other bids, i can have almost 10x more than insurance quote for value of my truck. I fitted brand new engine 700hp and by insurance is value for truck less than engine price. Crazy world
Yeah. I looked at the crash video and now I see why you say those trucks they compared with look like junk. Yours looked great. That is a big difference in sales prices people really go for something that looks good they will pay a lot more for the visuals. Good luck.
Don't take the first offer from them the insurance and don't let them push you around let it be on your Terms not theirs they are going to low ball you big time and might low ball you on the Second one to you could be fighting them for a while try and get closer to the value you want look at how clean your truck is and how great your truck is all the options the low mileage put it right in there face don't back down I'm sorry you are losing time at work with it but you deserve to get the most out of It either way fixing it or Totaling it out and look at the buy back to see what that is also look at you tube video on insurance claims do your research hope this helps love your video's Congratulations on the 100,000 Subscribers keep up the great work hope it all goes your way
I have Progressive too and the premium raised up this year. I have no accident no DWI no DUI or nothing on my record price $20 more a year a big truck a lot more I’m so sorry about your accident and I didn’t know you was one. I hope you was OK. Your insurance is really gonna go through the roof.
Take the money, and get that 2002 with the Detroit and Allison. That’s a win! 🎉🎉🎉 have you driven something with an Allison? That tag axle probably wasn’t meant to be there, and was added after, just my opinion. Hopefully you get yours repaired.
Hi, I live in the UK and we had this nonsense years ago. Long story short, Insurance coy landed up in court and was challenged to find 'identical ' vehicle for valuation they had placed on claimant's vehicle...couldn't do so! That was the last I heard of this practice!!! 😩
Great job on subscriber's but on another note most states have a department in the government that deals with insurance companies if you think their already angling to low ball you contact the insurance regulatory division in your state once the insurance company gets a message from them they move faster act nicer and stuff gets done your way not theirs on your time line not theirs please don't hesitate to use what your tax dollars pay for good luck I hope you straighten these guys out and get your truck fixed
Don't know about Washington? in Oregon they have to repair it or replace it, your truck can be fixed, we do chassis/frame work from 1/2 tons all the way up to the class 8 trucks and top of the line diesel motor coaches, the cab damage is what concerns me?, we don't do the body work.

If you pay insurance premiums based on the area that you live in, then they should also base the value of the vehicle on the market around your area.
Hire your own appraiser- that’s what I had to do with one of my heavies - they wanted to give me 500k - hired my own appraiser and got 800k

I sold my 1988 Peterbilt 377 with a 444 Cummins and an RTO14618 in it. It was in far better shape than either of those. I was the third owner, but everyone had taken care of the truck and it was clean. It also had polished Alcoas all aroundl
Congrats on the 100K mark. You deserve it. I hope you get your truck back on the road soon. Insurance companies suck dirt.
Congratulations on your award. Ask your dealer what he would sell your truck for today as it was before the accident. Thats the value to start with.
Congratulations on reaching 100,000. Stand your ground with insurance company. They’re trying to low ball you hoping you’ll be stupid and take it. They will change their tune when you start complaining Otherwise take what they give you and fix it and don’t do business with them anymore
Been with you since 300 subs. Lots of changes since then. Congratulations!!! Well deserved!!
They have lost their minds 😂 They should have someone that knows the industry to make appraisal.
Congrats there young lady. Anything is possible if you stick to your goals. Next is 500,000.00
Congratulations on your plaque
I am sorry for all you are going through on this. Insurance companies can be very trying to say the least. Wishing you the best in all of this as we look forward to seeing you back on the road. Enjoy your channel very much and I am not even a trucker. Just an old retired man living in Florida. Best of Luck
Love your channel keep up the great work.
I live about 15 miles from the red truck. The truck is labeled plow up/down and plow tilt. In Pa. the state and local governments contract trucks to plow snow. Many may have had sudden stoppage when the plow blade catches something on our fine roads. If it plowed it spreed salt.
Congratulations, you deserve it keep up the good work love your videos
Fixing a truck you know, gives peace of mind in the long term. = Try and get insurance to pony up a good percentage of repair costs and get rid of them. = LESS DOWN TIME I hope for you.
You can’t compare a east coast truck to a west coast truck two different applications that’s nuts and congrats for your 100k subscribers
So true
Progressive sucks I used them 30 years ago only because of the price they are far far insurance companies out there nowadays
Congrats to Daumuque Best Wishes and Sucess.
UNK is unknown. Congratulations on 100,000 ! Hold onto your guns about the quality of your truck.
CONGRATULATIONS on your award and hope you get your truck back
Daum, i can see your hurt in your eyes the pain of having your
baby in it's position and the tears you're holding back, from your
lively hood being disrupted, it's gonna work out you are a great hearted
soul, so the universe will return favor for the work you done,Congrats 100K!
Insurance companies love taking your money and want it right now but when its time to pay they seem to take their sweet time about it
. Good luck hope your back on the road soon
You really need to go after the Insurance Company. They are in business to save as much money as possible. Send them all the proof you can.
Progressive sucks I used them 30 years ago there are far better companies nowadays
I don't know where you are but vocational trucks pretty much progressive and Berkshire
And yes both of trucks shown had drop axle and spec like we do in Alabama except we use 16 feet metal beds and gross 82500
1. Progressive SUCKS.
2. How in the world did that happen going down a driveway. Too fast and not paying attention I guess.
My dear you have way more patience than I do. You are one hundred percent correct about the quality and specs in the west versus the crap in the east.
JG Murphy and Richie Brothers (local locations) can provide reasonable comps. Progressive hasn’t done that.
Check with Erie insurance. They have been great to work with.
Lol.love ur show.13 speed fuller 78 truck transfer and pup and flat bed equipment oriented.
Good luck.
You are a amazing woman you do your homework and you know what time will I am so proud of you baby you are a special woman God bless you
A guess on the orange (actually "amber") light on the dump body. Previous owner possibly had a contract for snow plowing services on state or fedreal roadways.
❤ Congrats❤
Ins. companys are tough
No comparisons to yours
Wishing you the BEST 👍😎
Congratulations on your channel hopefully your truck will be fixed its a sweet ride
I saw a green t800 over here on the east side of the state. It was on Craigslist. It was setup similar to yours. They were asking 75ish.
This it’s where they get you. We had a truck just get engine rebuilt by dealer and progressive said it already had an engine in it so that don’t add no value but the bill was 40k . They know replacement cost in the past 3 years have skyrocketed. For a good triaxle around in Alabama there at least 150k for about 250k miles about 50k markup in 3 years
thats AWESOME! I sure hope to get that box in the mail one day!!!!
I can tell you from experience an attorney comes in handy dealing with ins co at times.
Good job hope everything is going well for you in 2024
Gratz on 100,000 subs award & A year ago i lost a home to a fire & the insurance company was quick to settle as total loss but they sure dont give you fair or a break on prices.
Awesome, well deserved. I remember the beginning of your channel.
Hello Dauminique, the orange rotating light beacon on the side of that truck is likely because it's a public works truck ,dedicated to working on county roads, so needs a higher visibility profile.
Dang… York Springs, Pa! That’s in my back yard… and that red truck is junk compared to yours!😬
Hang in there and Tnx for the update.👍
Understand they need to value it in the same area . Hope it works out
Congrats on receiving your award. You definitely deserved it. I hope you can get your truck repaired and back on the road. I agree with everything you said about your agent and the information they have submitted to you. I could see their using out of area comps if they could not find anything near by but you know that is not the case. Stick to your guns. You are pretty sharp, trust your instincts.
the light.. in some states [minnesota for example] you have to have a certain size flashing yellow visible front and rear that you can turn on when entering the highway or leaving the highway.. or mndot bans you from the job site till you have it..
ah weird
Congratulations Dauminique
You are my Favorite Gal truck Driver.
Good luck.
I would think you would like a deep reduction 15 speed if hauling heavy and especially in hilly areas.
Don't take the first offer from them the insurance and don't let them push you around let it be on your Terms not theirs they are going to low ball you big time and might low ball you on the Second one to you could be fighting them for a while try and get closer to the value you want look at how clean your truck is and how great your truck is all the options the low mileage put it right in there face don't back down I'm sorry you are losing time at work with it but you deserve to get the most out of It either way fixing it or Totaling it out and look at the buy back to see what that is also look at you tube video on insurance claims do your research hope this helps love your video's Congratulations on the 100,000 Subscribers keep up the great work hope it all goes your way
If you buy a tri axle or 10 wheels in Kentucky Virginia all in that area they need a deep bucket cause alot of them run coal.
I have Progressive too and the premium raised up this year. I have no accident no DWI no DUI or nothing on my record price $20 more a year a big truck a lot more I’m so sorry about your accident and I didn’t know you was one. I hope you was OK. Your insurance is really gonna go through the roof.
Congratulations on 100 K👍👍👍
Take the money, and get that 2002 with the Detroit and Allison. That’s a win! 🎉🎉🎉 have you driven something with an Allison? That tag axle probably wasn’t meant to be there, and was added after, just my opinion. Hopefully you get yours repaired.
I would never buy that clapped out truck 🤣🤣🤣
Congrats on the award . Hopefully you and the insurance company can work things out. 🤞
Don't know about Washington? in Oregon they have to repair it or replace it, your truck can be fixed, we do chassis/frame work from 1/2 tons all the way up to the class 8 trucks and top of the line diesel motor coaches, the cab damage is what concerns me?, we don't do the body work.
Hopefully frame is good the rest can all be repaired lots of bolt on parts. Use more than one adjuster, I agree on the lowball offer that is horrible.
It’s fine
Congratulations oñ your 100,000 subscriptions, hoping you'll be rolling again soon. ❤
