I will say I have experience with 2017-2023 Mack Granite, 8speed lo lo and 6speed automatic… the Mack auto is very fast and smooth. Also have experience with 2017-2020 WesternStar automatic .. the Macks are faster and have better turning radius, but the ws is like a Cadillac handles the bumps way better , both are great tri axles.
As always Jay a great video. I took your advice and didn’t purchase the Freightliner Cascadia. I got a 2013 Mach , 15SQFT body, 445 HP, 13 speed manual, and it arrives next week Friday. I’m very happy for your guidance and direction from this channel. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ll be hauling gravel and dirt from a quarry. Blessings to you sir.
Hey Jay I am new CDL driver an new subscriber to your channel I love your videos but for me is more then that I love dump truck industry an I'm learning every day thank you 🤙🤙
Hey Jay, I’ve been watching your videos for a couple weeks now, I’m in school now for my class A cdl but longterm I’m going to open a dump truck business, was hoping I could speak to you I live in Houston as well.
410 gear ratio is nice but, not so good for fuel mileage !! 391/390 and 18 speed trans is an all type of work set up. 16 front and 46 rears. Hard X round edges box with a gross weight of 102k (tri axle trailer) will give you a pay load of 66k . That's with a 550 Cummins for power in a T800 and air suspension . Never had a problem on any job site. Thanks for the vid !
very good video Mancini thanks for the information. I'm preparing for the dump business and I would like to know how to know when the truck is at a good price?
Hey brother I'm in Buffalo ny just got my cdl a and got my first gig driving dump I've done construction all my life but new to the driving. My question is simple should I stay with the company and learn the job, skills to eventually buy my own truck or should I just send it and buy my own truck and get at it and take the chance I have family to take care of and honestly know nothing as far as mechanics
Brother I actually did a video about this, I strongly encourage you learn the biz first. Everything will be easier when you have your own truck, knowledge is power! Thanks for watching!
Hi Jay I have been looking at your videos and find them to be very informative. Recently, I acquired my CDL A class license in New York but I only have experience outside of the US driving tractor trailers. I applied for jobs but companies are only looking for experienced drivers. I would like to gain some experience driving dump trucks with a company so in the near future I can become an owner operator. Can you give me some information as to where and how I can get started. Thanking you in advance and keep up the great work.
Is there money to be made buying a small 5-7 yard single rear axel dump truck ? Is there a market for that kind of truck ? I’m looking into buying my first truck and was considering one of those to get started. Thanks !
What do dump trucks make per hour in the Houston area ? I live in Oregon it depends on what part of the state you live in. In the Portland metro are they pay more compared to souther part of the state
I got my start in driving a cat 797 haul truck working in the mine industry an then started driving over the road as a heavy hauler now I'm wanting to get back to driving a dump truck an I'm thinking about getting a mack granite super dump with a 10 SPDmanual transmission that has two pusher axels on it is the mack granite a good truck to buy .. an what license is good for driving a dump truck I have a class A but I'm not looking to go back to OTR
@@jaymancini awesome thanks for the information brother love yr videos they help me out cause I'm looking to buy a mack granite super dump an with the spec's you talk about help me an know what to look for I'm moving to Texas soon but if I don't buy a truck do you continue to hire drivers

Jay what do you think about Volvo?Volvo VHD ?
My Dad has a 16’ VHD original Dump-truck. Its been amazing so far only issue was the def system. It’s deleted now.

How is a 4.33 ratio for hauling?
How would you build a dump truck to haul as a dump trailer and be legally on the road , how many axles?
If it’s going to be a 18 wheel dump trailer you would hook on the dump body of the trailer to your truck (tractor).

Is a end dump better or just a dump truck
Depends on where you are located and what serves your area best
@@jaymancini Savannah GA area
I’ve only driven a freightliner I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing.
In some cases truck brands (makes) don’t matter, it’s about the specs of the truck meaning the way it’s built.
💪

Dump the air out of the bags before you lift the box, inflate them back up when the load is 1/3 of the way out and you won't have any problems!!
Mack’s are owned by Volvo and Mack is no longer making trucks with manual transmissions !! Automatics aren’t suitable in every situation
Mack Mack! I always see them getting stuck in landfill not good
@@nathanmacdonald6696I have one with a Allison trans and she runs pretty good
@@Topblast8sI’ve driven a bunch of different Mack trucks off road and they are preformed very well as long as they didn’t have tag axles

15 speed. :)
Always buy tri , quad , or super dump . Get 500-600 horse power
Not allowed in Georgia
Did I miss something? He didn't say anything about rear end
Mack the best
Walking Beam is way better then leaf.
Peterbilt or kenworth !!
350hoss, you crazy as fuck, that's a bread truck motor
I just need a cheap truck that can haul 45 tons
Volvo build Mack’s right
Don’t buy a aisin transmission
