Namasté Excellent review of the new Dualsports-Bikes in the world market. Mainpoint all three were produced in India, great. These are the bikes we’re waiting for the last 20 years here in Europe. Your comparison shows us that you’re an expert, thank you so much. We are waiting for more … Cheers from germany and take care.
Booked the scrambler 400x. As most of my ride is in the city and mild off reading once in a while. Looks awesome. Cheaper in price atleast 50K comparing to others. Also the ease of having alloy wheels. Great riding stance. High usable torque.
i agree for city use its the best value for money.. and it looks like a 5-6 lac motorcycle. Premium looks ans build . I am a big fan of Triumph build quality.. and a Triumph 900 tiger owner myself.
Ultimately, we should buy the bike we like. In today's product line up, even the worst bike on the market is way better than what was available a decade ago. No bike will be 100% perfect and one needs to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the bike and this review is very helpful to understand that
Couldnt agree more on ADV 390 analysis... That bazaar and khat khat sound... Fortunately my wife owns an tvs iqube 😅. So I can live with my 390 on the highways.
Great review, as someone who is almost ready to throw down a deposit on one, without a test ride you have answered the questions I have, thank you. Cheers from Downunder. 👍
I just had a such a blast laughing when you talked about that khat khat khat...darrrrrrr sound on 390!! 😂 I immediately could co-relate with it because i just rode that bike for 15 min and was so disappointed with that engine sound and stalling in the middle of the road that i just gave up that option! Also, i would buy Himalayan any day provided it came with at least 10% better design elements. Right now they just don't exist and the bike looks too ugly to be carrying everywhere! So the only option that was left for me was 400x and that's what i booked! 😊
Loveeed this video..! Clears out so many doubts. I am a new rider. I love long relaxed leisure rides. Scrambler 400X, that is it for me..! Thanks man..! ❤
I am getting my Scrambler 400x this Wednesday (USA rider) 6 feet (182.8 cm), 205 lb (93 kg). Very good bike after test riding. Perfect power for what I want and lighter than my Africa Twin CRF1000 and more powerful than my Yamaha WR250R. I wish I could test the Himmy 450 but not in USA yet - but I love the look of the Triumph, the sound, the controls :)
Without a doubt the best comparison video I’ve seen regarding the Himalayan. I am really looking forward to your take on the Scram 450. It seems to me that the Triumph would be better served in that side-by-side comparison. The 400X appears to be more road oriented with off-road abilities which, to me, is where the current Scram 411 resides. Liked, subscribed and waiting.
@Twenty3Rides Нey Jasveen, do you peg this bike in the 0-400cc beginner category, or the 400-800cc intermediate advanced/category. I wanted to see if l'Il want an upgrade over Himalayan within a couple of years or is this an end game bike for an average Indian tourer (28M, been riding for a decade- will have a track bike in future- sceptical of buying 400X since it feels like a beginner bike)
Great job👍...Himalayan is best..Except one fact that they are not providing alloy wheel tubeless tyres. That is the only reason I am still confused between Triumph and Himalayan
Great review Jasveen.. I would suggest you to create a short video summary as well... we can go through the summary ( the comparisons) and then dig deeper.
Had the KTM 390 Adventure, found it a great bike, was great on gas at under 80 km but above 90 Km drank a lot more gas. The mane reason I got rid of it was the service having to take it back three time for most things. Just got tired of weighting around the shop for hours at a time. If you lived close to the shop where you could drop it off and walk home might be a different story. I am hopping for the Himalayan 450 to come to Prince Edward Island Canada, I will be first in line, as long as I can pick the color, love the black, hate the white., other colors not bad.
Really great review. Please make sure to do a comparison between the Him 450 and the CFMoto 450MT when it comes out, and please include how they rate in the twisties. Thanks.
How about when you include on road handling? It seems like the Triumph, with its 23 degree rake and 19” front tire would outshine the heavier Himalayan with its 21” front tire in the corners and especially the switchbacks. But, the 452 is the most versatile, but not as engaging on the road where I’ll do most of my riding. Great reviews, I saw your reviews on both the triumph and the RE.
My thoughts as well as I will have similar usage pattern. However, I am not a tall guy and at 835mm seat height, 400x is not my cup of tea and smaller speed 400 does not check the boxes. So Himalayan 452 seems to be the only solution for me.

What? Where are you? Here in WA we're talking pretty much even trade of '12 Tiger 800ABS and that's a lot less than $8,700 I'll tell you that much. More like $6K
Yeah, I getting those numbers too, although the dealership didn't jack the cost of the cost of the base bike up. Freight was a little cheaper too. But, I have never bought a bike brand new before, so I figured that every new bike gets slapped with delivery and set up. I'm still going forward with my purchase, with an April delivery.
great video. people are always comparing random bikes, as the name suggests scram will always be bad at proper offroad and highway. if you want a scam style bike get the scrambler 400x or wait from RE scram 450 or compare it with 411 scram and yezdi scram. Although 390 adv is sold as adv it is duke in heart. A better competitor might have been Tiger 400

I owned scrambler 400x on 4th of November it’s a more than week now and i am satisfied a lot because my need is all in one bike office to home every day weekends short ride and 1 or 2 long ride in a year so for that i am more than happy even after himalayan launch.. because it’s heavier and may be tubless tyre model is expensive and a very big bike compare to scram400x so for my type of rider i must say scrambler 400x is the perfect choice.
Among this 3 which is best for touring with pillion, rate is pillion comfort, luggage, pulling power. I am not looking at high speed nor hardcore off roading
Speed 400x vs scrambler 400x, if one majorly uses it in city, do a Delhi Jaipur trip on Saturday -sunday and maybe once in their lifetime will go to ladakh. What will you suggest. And will you still suggest Himalayan if looks and feel are a big criteria to choose from?
Steering!! It might sound silly to many but I wish to know your take. I find G310GS to be more lighter to steer vs speed and scram 400x. How does Himalayan compare among these 4?
There is a solid reason why he did not include the Vstrom 250 sx. The Vstrom 250sx is not even close to any of these three motorcycles. The Vstrom 250sx produce only 26 horsepower and 22 nm of torque, whereas the other three make 40 and more hp and 37 and more nm of torque. Not only that the suspension travel of the Vstrom 250sx is just 120mm, which is very less compared to the other three and very little for an adventure motorcycle. The R15, which is basically a sport bike has a better suspension travel of 130mm than the Vstrom 250sx. Instead of providing switchable ABS to the Vstrom 250sx, Suzuki gave Bluetooth connectivity, which is nothing but a marketing gimmick. The Vstrom 250sx does not deserve to be termed an adventure motorcycle because it just a Gixxer 250 with upright seating position. That's it.
Very informative video! Do you think the new himalayan will have issues like thr old one in the lot of bikes. I am planning to get one। But not sure if I should pre-book now or wait for 3-4 months given the RE history with issues.
I think this one is very good.. no major issues so far. But that being said.. If you want to play very safe.. Waiting and watching for 3-4 months will help eliminate any risk..
hi nice one. is there permanent way to change the himalayan tyres to "Tubeless". We are told, it may take months or year for company to get licensed / patented one. So meanwhile can't wait. Anyway out?
I must really appreciate you in making this video. I own adv 390 2022 alloy wheel model. I am planning to install SW variant adjustable suspension for front & rear. Don't know how much it would Cost for the upgrade. As the rear is stiff my back hurts while sitting & riding 😢. Does the SW variant adjustable suspension make any significant difference. Really appreciate you if you can throw some light over😊👍
Yes it makes a huge difference. Also you can look at zedling suspension for adv 390.. Working well for many. Be leas concerned about alloy/spokes.. Invest in suspension upgrade first..
Great review! Thanks for helping me decide between the Triumph and the Royal Enfield. As a new rider at age 65, (last time I was on a motorcycle was grad school) I was going to buy the 2023 Himalayan. After this review, I'm going to buy the 2024 Himalayan 452. It will be my job commuter bike (with pannier cases) and my get-away ride for the weekends. Can't wait!
Thanks for the great analysis. Couple of questions - 1. I believe the speeds you're talking about are all speedo-indicated. Doesn't the scrambler have huge speedometer error? Does that mean that comfortable speeds on the bike would be even lower? 2. How is the rear suspension on the scrambler? I am planning to get its monoshock fitted on my Duke 250 (if its a direct fit). 3. How is the himalayan in the city compared to the scrambler? Is the long wheelbase a problem in making sharp turns? And does the weight feel a hindrance in reversing the bike up a mild slope after parking it? I feel speed 400 is better than scrambler if the scrambler can't do much beyond city.
Hello, one doubt, how smooth is the engine ? On a scale of 1 to 10 as compared with CB350RS for reference. Coming from a Honda fan, this will be my 1st RE. Didn't like the vibrations of earlier RE engines. Thank you.
@@Twenty3Rides 😅😅 thats what I thought. I have booked already, its just that most of the reviews told its refined, but I wanted to understand "refined" a little bit more, lol. Anyway thanks.
From the moment I saw the bike, I wanted to get a scarmbler, but I can't decide between the Himalayan and the scarmbler because they both look nice. I just want to know which bike is best for touring (not sure how much time I would spend off-road) and would be durable and less expensive to maintain.
For touring get Him 450. Wind blast will kill you on Scram 400x. And any windshield you put will not be enough and look shitty.. moreover Him 450 will ride smoothly at 120-130kmph..
@@RidewithJP for me Touring means spending 12-13 hrs on saddle doing triple digit speeds.. All day. 1. Scrambler doesn’t feel at home doing 110kmph plus.. Feels viby - Not much but compared to other 2 2. getting a windshield installed on it will be a challenge and even if you do it will look pathetic and wouldnt serve the purpose to protect you from windblast. That’s why i feel Him 450 and adv390 will be much better in touring .
Do you think the upcoming Ktm 390 adventure R (you might have seen the leak image with panniers which looks like crf rally) could become more promising in this segment?
hi...can you tell ...Which would be most fun to ride specially on mountains and tarmac. 2. Does Himalayan have floaty feeling on tarmac like old 411? or new himalayan is tight bike to ride on roads
See .. GS 310 is a good machine with spot on Riding geometry, but the feel of a 40bhp engine is something else.. GS310 feels stressed after 100.. In my opinion and the suspension feels over soft. That being said its still a good machine.. himalayan seat is also very comfortable.. test ride it . Is it worth upgrading to Himalayan from GS310.. Maybe / maybe not depending on what you want to do with a machine
@@Twenty3Rides for context, everyday riding comfort is of utmost importance. High speeds/power are not really an ask here. Enough power for quick runs/take over I am fine by. I don’t want to feel the potholes and uneven surfaces when riding. 310 has the softest settings of all and I just love it. Does/can 450 behave similar? I am to decide between the two. Of course I will test ride but i think it will be long wait.
I have been riding a GS310 for 1 year and have test ridden and reviewed the Himalayan 450 BMW G310GS RIDER RIDES THE ROYAL ENFIELD HIMALAYAN 450: FIRST IMPRESSIONS th-cam.com/video/1A_YR51TOj0/w-d-xo.html I don’t see a reason to switch to the Himalayan now. Also comfort in any situation on the GS is unbeatable .. just don’t go xtreme 😊

I want to use it for daily commuting, for office 🏢 use 2. Want to use for long rides, like from Hyderabad to Ladakh and any of the states in India 🇮🇳 Hope I’ll get an answer 💯🫶
Hey, for the usage you mentioned. Just go with Himalayan. Very long rides on Scrambler 400x would be as comfortable as on himalyan. Also, himalayan handles city traffic very well. Thats what i feel. But test ride both bikes properly
I am to upgrade from Thunder Bird 500 & was confused between 390 adv & Himalayan 450. Now will be going for Himalayan 450, hope that its reliable & not like older Royal Enfields.
Hi Sir, whats you height? and do you feel comfortable while riding it in crowding high traffic area? and is it good for people with height of 5'6 or 5'8
I was looking at the 390 but the lack of torque, footpegs cantered forward like a road bike, weak suspension makes it less interesting. On the plus side the hp and low weight are nice

That's it.
Thanks for helping me here
Great work mate. Loved hearing your thoughts and agree with all of them.
Cheers Brother..!
Hi bro, watching your videos since a long time. Which mic do you use ? And any specific setting
As of now using the Rode Wirless Go 2 mic.. If you now want to invest money on a setup. Go for DJI wireless mic system..
@@Twenty3Rides thankyou!
Absolutely honest and valuable reference video.
Thanks bro.. Do subscribe as well 😝
Sherpa 452 is one of the admirable engine from RE
How do you know ? I don't trust new himalayan engines after what happened with 411 launch.
Great review!
Thanks.
I will buy this Himalayan 🔥👍👌
hi nice one. is there permanent way to change the himalayan tyres to "Tubeless". We are told, it may take months or year for company to get licensed / patented one. So meanwhile can't wait. Anyway out?
Outex rim sealing is the way to go..
I'm gonna go with himalayan, thanks
@@Twenty3Rides Thanks a lot sir for your timely reply. Really appreciate you☺👍
Superb bro... God bless

Thanks .. 💪
Couple of questions -
How do you rate the electrical wiring quality in himalayan. Electrical side is nightnare on any day
I think its fine .. Nothing pops out and looks odd
What about comparison with the GS310 ?
Hello, one doubt, how smooth is the engine ? On a scale of 1 to 10 as compared with CB350RS for reference. Coming from a Honda fan, this will be my 1st RE. Didn't like the vibrations of earlier RE engines. Thank you.
It’s considerably Smoother than previous Himalayan. but comparing to a Honda - Is maybe asking too much 😀
@@Twenty3Rides 😅😅 thats what I thought.
390 adv
For touring get Him 450. Wind blast will kill you on Scram 400x. And any windshield you put will not be enough and look shitty..
moreover Him 450 will ride smoothly at 120-130kmph..
@@Twenty3Rideswhy do you feel the Scrambler400x can’t tour!
@@RidewithJP for me Touring means spending 12-13 hrs on saddle doing triple digit speeds.. All day.
1. Scrambler doesn’t feel at home doing 110kmph plus.. Feels viby - Not much but compared to other 2
2. getting a windshield installed on it will be a challenge and even if you do it will look pathetic and wouldnt serve the purpose to protect you from windblast.
That’s why i feel Him 450 and adv390 will be much better in touring .
If you can wait another 6 months RE scrambler based on Sherpa 452 is underway
Do you think the upcoming Ktm 390 adventure R (you might have seen the leak image with panniers which looks like crf rally) could become more promising in this segment?
Absolutely.. I am waiting for that one.
hi...can you tell ...Which would be most fun to ride specially on mountains and tarmac. 2. Does Himalayan have floaty feeling on tarmac like old 411? or new himalayan is tight bike to ride on roads
For this .. On road - mountain twisties - Adv 390 or even the Scrambler will be a blast..
Seating!!!
The G310GS gives the most comforting INTO the bike feeling and better grip.
Though the seat on 450 is a bit scooped, is it better than 310?
I have been riding a GS310 for 1 year and have test ridden and reviewed the Himalayan 450

I don’t see a reason to switch to the Himalayan now. Also comfort in any situation on the GS is unbeatable .. just don’t go xtreme 😊
I was planning to upgrade from Himalayan 411 to 450, this video really helps me take decision, full on Informative and great comparison. Thank you
Thanks bro. Stay connect and subscribed
Which u r buying
How is the high speed stability . Is there any wobbling issue in Himalayan ?
Absolutely NOT.. amazing performance
I am a 6'3 rider and ride mostly with pillion, is it right to go with 390 advx
Hi Bro 👊, I’m really in a confusion on two bikes right now, which is, Himalayan 452 and Scrambler 400 x, could you plz suggest which bike I need to purchase based on below ⬇️ points and my height is 5.6.
1. I want to use it for daily commuting, for office 🏢 use
2. Want to use for long rides, like from Hyderabad to Ladakh and any of the states in India 🇮🇳
Hope I’ll get an answer 💯🫶
Hey, for the usage you mentioned. Just go with Himalayan. Very long rides on Scrambler 400x would be as comfortable as on himalyan. Also, himalayan handles city traffic very well. Thats what i feel. But test ride both bikes properly
I am also in the same confusion bro
Currently owning duke250 i feel the suspension stiff now a days its been 3 yrs of riding but only 16k kms
Great Comparison bro.
I am to upgrade from Thunder Bird 500 & was confused between 390 adv & Himalayan 450. Now will be going for Himalayan 450, hope that its reliable & not like older Royal Enfields.
And what about QJ440 alias HDx440?
Hi Sir, whats you height? and do you feel comfortable while riding it in crowding high traffic area? and is it good for people with height of 5'6 or 5'8
I am 5’11. with low seat option you can easily ride it.. No isssues.
I was looking at the 390 but the lack of torque, footpegs cantered forward like a road bike, weak suspension makes it less interesting. On the plus side the hp and low weight are nice
I’ll probably go with the Himalayan 450
I also have similar problems with ADV 390 and hate those rear set footpegs
Which bike would be better ninja 300 or himalayan 450, if you do 80% city and 20% touring and if you want luxury.
does it make sense booking the tube version of the 450?
Yes . I will cover that in the next video..
Where does x440 stand amongst all this ? Or is it a wrong comparison.
