Great video. For a tourer, Jasveen's boot is great. It will do fine in most road crash scenarios. If you are trying anything stupid, always wear an enduro boot. Safety trumps comfort, always. Waterproof shoes should be avoided if you have to cross a water crossing - Ladakh type areas. Water will always enter the boot if the foot is submerged and a waterproof boot will take 3-4 days to dry. Waterproof boots only for rains.

The TCXs are no longer being imported into India thanks to the ISI requirement; for that matter no foreign brand is being imported into India since mid 2023. I think the larger conversation needed is availability of imported boots or which of the Indian manufacturers gives the closest amount of safety/protection. If there is no availability itself, the conversation of which category of boot is probably moot. Thanks anyway.

Guys, the premise of this video is flawed. Why can't a guy who can afford 50k boots buy a Royal Enfield? I have seen guys riding BMW GSs who wear 10k boots. The decision to buy boots is based on 1. Safety, 2. Comfort, 3. Price, in that order. Safety HAS to be the paramount concern. For touring (which is what 99.9% of the riders do), a good full touring boot is the way to go. Unfortunately, India is predominantly a hot country and wearing knee length touring boots is not always comfortable in summer conditions. There are several mid-length boots available which can work, but it won't protect as much as also won't be as waterproof. A waterproof boot with a Gore-Tex (or similar) lining a must for those rainy rides. As far as advice goes, buy the best you can afford from a recognized brand which has been certified by EN or similar standards as PPE motorcycle gear. P.S I own ankle length, sneaker type to full touring boots from TCX, Alpinestars, Dainese, Leatt etc.

    1) Best middle ground may be the Toucan or Gaerne Dakar (maybe even the Gaerne GX1 if weight matters to u, although it's really an MX boot and not adv). that being said, you can never be too safe and MX boots are the safest. also it's not necessary that touring may not offer hazards similar to trails, especially in the mountains as anytime you go off into a ditch or down a slope, you are in the deep end of shitcreeek. There is only ONE use case where an Adv boot is better is when u need to go take a dump off the side of the road, especially on uneven ground. unless you have really good calf lower body muscles and no beer belly, shitting on raised haunches can be a spot of bother.
    2) waterproof boots are a terrible idea, and u will know it once they take in ice cold water.. its much better to have waterprof and woolen socks instead. with some newspapers and silica gel , it's not very difficult to dry out boots that air out easy
    3) Boots have to be number#2 gear we must spend good money on after the helmets... u just need to bump ur toes into ur coffee table to realize how fragile ur feet can be. no# 3 would be good gloves

I have been contemplating buying Tech 7 for some time but I couldn't figure out how many times there will be a use-case-scenario. Done with three seasons of Ladakh with my current TCX RE boots, they have been one of my top three picks in all my riding gear in terms of usage and protection. However, recently I just hit my passenger footpeg for some reason, so the back of the heel let's say.. mere hosh udh gaye with the pain that followed, I realised they are worn in probably and I am now in a fix whether to pick up tech 7 or TCX touring boots. I guess, i will retain these and also buy a tech 7 pair.
