@coltonwilliams4153 maybe not a lot, but the possibility exists and is higher than none. So any defensive structure should still have some form of a plan for an attack route that's not entirely impossible.
But for the sake of the anime, it's a comical scene.

He did first allowed Amyu to be arrested and inquired of the head mistress as to how effective the alternatives would be so he did indeed first investigated non-violent means. Plus he told the soldiers that if they stood aside, he would let them live.

He could simply throw a large enough boulder into the castle and then go to the underground cells. He "refrained" himself because of his brother and the princess that - as of yet - wasn't his enemy to begin with.
The world no longer has any need for the Hero or the Demon Lord and seeks to deny them, so of course the Hero and Demon Lord wind up becoming friends and teammates instead.
A nightmare the world would not be able to survive at all if it decided the two need to die no matter the cost... which will inevitably send the world back into the age of heroes and demon kings/lords.
The ironic part is that the reason why they don't need them is because now they have professional armies... But it still doesn't change the fact that both the hero and the demon lord are living mass destruction weapons. It was foolish of them to think they could've "got rid of" them that easily.

Fiona played a very dangerous game. If she provoked Seika a bit more, then they were all doomed at the wrath of demon king. But since she is divine priestess, she knew that she shouldn't push him beyond the edge. She was in fact jealous of Amyu, but didn't show that.
Yep she herself said it,that she used her power a bunch of times when little to make a encounter with seika happen
So from what I understand is that the princess was trying to get close to Seika because of one reason or another (probably because he’s the demon king), but couldn’t because Amyu was around so she tried to get rid of her, but only caused him to distrust her even further to the point where he couldn’t take her word on protecting Amyu at all?
@@hunterrhoades1813 maybe she just didn't realise how paranoid to those in power Seika is. He wouldn't trust her anyway, regardless of what she says or do. He did what he did after just because he understands that he overreacted and wanted to mitigate aftereffects. If not than original author or producers destroyed his character without a reason.

I love that the sickle weasle has to be the most boosted Mythical creature. Sure its said to be faster then the eye can see but it can only give you tiny cuts you barely feel. Now its this light speed Boulder chopping monster.

Most likely they tries to get more information and just stall him. I guess mobile magic defense is a new concept to them. So they tries to overwhelm his spell, or get more time to regroup and rally knights.

He’s got a point. In a world with magic and monsters, having a fortress without any defense from airborne enemies is bad design.
Presumably in a land where magic exists, a castle should have magic circles that would create a defensive barrier against aerial attacks which low level mages could feed mana into or mana from magic crystals could power. Then again, technically, this was a palace not a military base so proper defenses might not have been part of the design.

This is what I like about saika he is not a hero but an anti hero he will mind his own business but come after him or his loved ones and he won't hesitate to massacre you one more thing if I didn't know any better it felt like the princess wanted amyu to die it's just a feeling of course.
@Richard Barton you have a point, I mean in the episode the princess got to amyu faster than seika because of her future reading, and while it's most likely to have a talk with Seika, it felt weird not freeing her when she got there before Seika
The princess didn’t want Amyu to die because she knew that would set Seika over the edge with no way to talk him down. Amyu was still in the cell because the princess, for all her political influence, had to work slowly to get Amyu free through the official channels. Seika’s refusal to leave Amyu there wasn’t so much that he didn’t trust the princess’ intentions, just her ability to protect Amyu from some guard that might slip poison into Amyu’s food, or something like that. If the princess’ future sight couldn’t prevent this situation in the first place, how could Seika trust it to prevent an assassination before Amyu could be officially released?
@@coltonwilliams4153 Seika is well-familiar with the politics and in-fighting at high levels of the government that cannot stand people with more respect and prestige than them who they cannot influence or control: which is why the government in his old homeworld had killed him for being a powerful Exorcist that only fought for the everyday people.

Empire would have ruined Seika's plans if Amyu was killed besides she was close to him as she was a reincarnation herself from his world, his favorite pupil.

@@Miraphes idk of you picked it up but Fiona mentioned when she met Seiko she was trying to save someone from Fallin into the pit and basically that was seika all along because she knew he had a good heart. Kind of a cliff hanger ending
These are the types of protagonists I like in the isekais. Who show no mercy when it comes to killing both the bad guys and the good guys and don't hold back when it comes to using their full power to take out minor and major threats.

One of the best of the Season. We need a Season 2. Seika is one of the better written OP protagonists.
He's also one of the exceedingly rare OP characters who have been betrayed but didn't decide to make it everyone else's problem. At least not usually.

Seika was too kind in this part. He already have ptsd on being betrayed by his own kingdom and now he just spared the very kingdom trying to betray him and the hero he tried to protect and nurture. Should have just left all those dead bodies there as a warning or take out half of the castle to give them a fair lesson to not mess around with him or else the entire kingdom burns to the ground.
Unfortunately that would just lead to the same death he had in his first life, unless were to just never trust anybody ever again. And I doubt that's how he wants to live, he wants to be happy

Before he was trying to fit in to a degree. He still stood out but not in an unnatural way. More like he was just some prodigy, which made him valuable. But now he had decided there was no value to keeping a low profile. So he was making a demonstration. Cross him at your own peril. He would play nice if you did.

Even with recent media, you only have to look at the movies "Per Cemetery" and "Practical Magic" to see it. He said when he didn't revive maybel's brother (which will probably be a point of conflict eventually) he only needs the vessel to be intact. He knew he could revive them, if he chose to do so, since he was all in already, or so he thought. His old habits of playing god that got him killed last time kicked in when he lost his cool.

He always could, but his fox yokai convinced him not to revive the kid he killed in the tournament since at that point he still was pretending to be at most a prodigy level student.
The last three episodes in my eyes saved this anime. At first I didn't care much for it but this scene was Great

@@V.U.4six I thought it was pretty solid all the way through, tbh - I like that he's a no-nonsense guy whose main goal is to not stand out too much (at least, at first), and doesn't care about romance so all the underage girls falling for this middle-aged man doesn't really lead to anything weird for the moment. He is OP, but his specific ayakashi brand of OP-ness is also really unique compared to other isekai guys. Pretty nicely-characterized dude all around.
He reminds me of a more serious Cid from Eminence in Shadow, too, which is a plus since I liked that anime.
Don’t wanna spoil but he keeps breaking his original goal more and more even interfering in things he could easily stay out from. Basically defying the entire premise of him staying undercover. I mean as you can see from this clip he went absolutely nuts. It’s not like people wouldn’t notice an entire army getting wiped out.
I think the energy of being a demon lord is effecting him (spoiler)
It’s later mentions that he no longer needs things from his victims to curse them witch is terrifying

They arrested his friend for something she didn't do and suspects they're using it as an excuse to assassinate her
There are Assassins after his friend, Aymu the Hero, he slaughtered a group of demon assassins in the previous episode and they arrested Aymu for it, blaming her so that they can get her away from the school to assassinate her in prison. Basically nobody wants another Human-Demon war, the Humans don't want it, the Demons don't want it and they're all acting irrationally as births of another Hero and Demon King might cause a war; when in reality if nobody had done anything, the Hero and Demon King wouldn't have gotten involved in anything and neither of them wanted war either. the short of it is everybody believes they can prevent war if the Hero and Demon King die but in trying to do this they are actually creating the conditions for such a war to break out, rather than preventing it.
@@DoomsdayR3sistance What's even worse, with both the Demon King and Hero best friends, both sides of the conflict are just creating the perfect storm to cause their greatest assets to turn against them and destroy *both* nations.

@@RLHvanDijk Well that's the next scene after this one and yes, she can see many possible futures and obviously this was not the one she wanted. Partly it almost seems like she can't predict Seika's power; Seika resurrecting all the dead soldiers seemed like it was even past the Priestess's ability too foresee but she is definitely not trustworthy, she will do what is most likely to set her on to the best future for herself.

@@RLHvanDijk it`s pretty obvious what the tone is based on what was on screen. you have knight-style armor soldiers but no intelligence, magic(on a fantasy show), or tactics. they were blank pieces of the set to be removed. I`m tired of stories with op protagonist pretending their OP mc "is in trouble on this fight". the knights based on their reaction know what magic is but can`t use it or were not allowed to use it. they keep shooting arrows while that wasn`t working, they were too spread out when the gate was destroyed, had no formation or tactics, and didn`t stand a chance against a minor Yookai. what was their armor made out of to be cut like that? was it made out of toilet paper?
to compare how about we put it against other OP mc. in "Campfire Cooking in Another World" you are watching the story of 2 friends eating food, exploring a new world, and having fun. is a story about a journey and exploration. it is chill without drama. The Eminence in Shadow is a story of a ridiculous MC suffering from Chuunibyou. he is op and he has 8-grade syndrome. he is lying nonstop about cults and other things to become " the eminence in the shadow" and live his fantasy. except his lies are real, whether a god is putting the ideas in him or something else. the story has us follow pure absurdity. this is an MC that would carry a piano to an underground ruin to get the perfect lighting and visual aesthetics. and if someone walks in, he would lie and say things like "I been waiting for you." you are watching the pure absurdity to have a laugh.

@@JayJayM57 Except you're wrong on numerous fronts, which is evidence that you truly know nothing about the show. The "magic" Seika uses is not actually magic, which is why they don't know how to counter it (throughout the show, enemies that have fought Seika have often questioned what kind of magic Seika uses...with many not recognizing it isn't even magic). Seika didn't give them enough time to even question whether it's magic or not because it's unheard of for there to be anything other than magic. They've never encountered someone like Seika before (and likely never will again). His "magic" stems from his spiritual power which the world he is reborn in has no way to measure or is even aware of. Back at the start of the anime, Seika goes to get his affinities checked and the response from the test is that he has no magical affinity at all (which is correct, he doesn't, he has spiritual affinity). He, however, pretends to use the world's magic to get through the tests which baffles the test administrators since he shouldn't be able to use magic based on his affinity test, yet he can freely do so anyway, which nobody questions (though the headmaster is very aware he is diff than the others). Additionally, the yokai that they face is also from Seika's world, which is yet another type of enemy they have never encountered before, and is significantly more powerful. Their armor is strong and likely magic resistant, but with Seika using spiritual power instead of magic power and a yokai stronger than most of the strongest demons of this world, all of those resistances and everything are moot. Seika and his summonings can slice clean through them without breaking a sweat, because they literally lack the power to do fight back, have no counter to him, and even worse, don't even recognize that they don't. An intruder of just 1 who appears human made them handle the situation like they were trained to do. Physical combat only to minimize destruction and also to take the intruder alive if possible, and if that doesn't work, win with overwhelming numbers since it is just 1 human. Seika also doesn't allow his enemies enough time to fully analyze him. He has previously and also here in this fight (slaughter) ensures they are completely dead with no survivors so that no one can work on countering him in the future. An enemy towards the end of the season has a short opportunity to analyze Seika and his power with a special ability but is eliminated before being able to inform anyone of just who Seika is in this world. He recognized he has no shot of winning but fought anyway so that at least one of his companions could survive and inform the demons of who Seika is but Seika eliminates the runner remotely. And lastly, Seika wants to be an adventurer and not deal with demons, humans, or any of that. He wants to live a quiet life adventuring with the hero of the story.
@@inviso87 Such a long comment only to be wrong. I never said he has magic, I can read the title and see the obvious Shinto Buddhism hints. From the paper doll stairs to his ability to summon a Yokai. When I said magic, I was referring to the soldier's inability to respond and react. The soldiers fail to adapt in 2 basic forms.
- They failed to use a proper response based on their culture.
- They failed to react. If I saw a gust of wind blocking arrows, I will not shoot arrows. If I see fire forming I wouldn't stay in the direct path. Basic reactions the soldiers lack.
Lastly, the whole "they can't handle his power because it is different, is lazy writing." Magic in proper writing is a tool, there are different types, and some are better, but there's no "best one" that makes for boring material. And why would his Yokai be stronger than any demon? That's not a particularly strong Yokai. That Yokai is born in an area of Japan with strong wind. Wind is so fast it can cut you, so they create the myth of a weasel that rides the wind and cuts people. Fast and hard to see are its quality, super powerful is not one of them.
