Since I read the source material and currently up to date with the info, I'll provide the info that's missing and the whole context of this issue, sorry if my grammar is off or if the way that I write this is not perfect, also this is a spoiler warning for those who haven't read the novels. Later on, its learned that Seika is half demon. They did a game of thrones on seika (Jon snow) Seika's Biological father (Gilbert) meets Seika's mother while exploring the demon realm, When he was born, the priestess of the Demon identified Seika as the new demon King and wanted to take baby seika away from his parents to raise him as a tool of War, his parents escaped with seika but Gilbert got killed to ensure seika and his mother could escape. The mother went to the Blaise house and told him that seika was the child of his brother Gilbert and that he was killed. After she left seika with Blaise she went away to ensure that no one could track seika since the demon will not stop searching for her no matter what until found. Blaise was told nothing about seika, only that he was Gilberts child and the woman that brought seika hid her identity and race telling nothing about seika being a half demon or that he was a demon king for fear that the brother might kill the baby. Blaise in turn raised Seika as his bastard child but still kept close watch of him since he didn't know why Gilbert was killed.

They picked a fight with someone they should not have messed with. He wiped the floor with them to the point it was not even considered a fight, and as a FLEX he revived them (no one died). What makes this even more terrifying is that this is the Demon King protecting his friend the Hero. What an amusing twist on the Hero and Demon King story.
"What an amusing twist on the Hero and Demon King story" That's quite interesting, because in the LN, just as Seika leaves for the academy, his father mentions that before his magic was examined (or more accurately, before Haruyoshi's consciousness took over); Seika would frequently go on uncontrollable rampages, wielding magic that seemingly couldn't have been his own, as dictated by his apparent lack of magical power... had Haruyoshi not reincarnated into Seika Lamprouge's body, Seika likely would have ended up massacring the Lamprouge family, as well as everyone else in the immediate area and would later on lead the demons in a bloody war against humanity... But Haruyoshi, being an Exorcist (and the strongest one at that) with an indomitable spirit; was able to completely suppress these demonic powers, perhaps this suppression occurred mere moments before Seika's power was measured (as a Demon Lord would likely have immense magical prowess), and thus he seemingly had no magical power, but unbeknownst to everyone else; he possessed immense spiritual power and wisdom from his past life as Haruyoshi... Seika later laments the fact that he reincarnated as this world's Demon Lord, but also admits that it was wishful thinking to believe that "The Strongest Exorcist" would be able to live a quite life after reincarnating, he also summised that this was the reason why he reincarnated in a different world... there was literally no one in his old world whose body was strong enough to house his powerful soul

The Empire: We will arrest Seika's friend. Just because we can. Seika: I will wipe the royal palace off the map. Just because I can. Also they deliberately use the term "Devil King" (or Maou in Japanese) incorrectly in this anime. It's supposed to be some Great Evil. But in this anime Devil King is simply a powerful person. And whet's even more laughable Saika simply protects those dear to him. He doesn't really want to conquer the world. He doesn't want to rule. He just minds his own business. Simply stay away from those dear to him and you won't be harmed. I'd take this kind of Devil King over any other any day. Seika was very cruel and manipulative in the beginning of the anime. But he changed. He's a better person now. If humanity forces him to act - humanity deserves to be destroyed. Simple as that.
I think Seika's manipulations were simply a means to secure a peaceful life by the Hero's side, as to not draw attention to himself... once he realised that wasn't going to work, he stopped going out of his way to hide his powers and manipulating others for his own selfish gains, outside of simply using powers that are more convenient to explain
There is a cycle in that world of a demon king who periodically appears and a hero is born to stop him. This time around seika is the demon king and the demon squad leader is horrified to learn he has sided with the humans and befriended the hero.
Problem is the nobles are also the politicians who govern humanity and are set in their ways how things are to proceed, and if they decide on a course of action regardless of how that decision affects the outcome of that choice, then damn the consequences the will of the nobility is to be followed and not questioned. Stupid decisions will lead to an end of an Empire and the noble political system is doomed to collapse if they get their way and kill the hero to prevent another war with the demon king/ villain.
Okay somebody who's read the source mats, what's the plan here? The princess was quite literally at seika's house, why not talk to him then? Why possibly sacrifice all those lives to talk to seika? Why frame amu? In what world would assassinating the child hero not rally the humans to fight?
She made a major miscalculation. you see she spent so much time with her visions of him that to her there where friends already and forgot that to him he didn't know her. and her being so familiar with him came off as her trying to manipulate him and as a major red flag. had she made an effort to actually befriend him instead of trying to manipulate him this would have gone very differently. but she gave him no reason to trust her and then was surprised when he didn't. and he wouldn't have because trusting blindly got him murdered in his past life. he's not keen on history repeating itself.
IIRC, the princess didn't have the hero arrested on trumped up charges, some other members of the government did. Both humans and demons in general like the status quo, which includes only low level violence, not the massive conflicts associated with the appearance of the demon king and hero. Both's population and technological/magical levels have grown to the point that the inability of a demon king or hero to be in multiple places at once suggests to them that, based on the strength of previous cycles, neither would be a decisive, or even significant, factor in which side won the war. The ones who had the hero arrested plan to disspose of the hero with the hopes of breaking the cycle of violence. The princess has somehow managed to stall or prevent the death those others had in mind, and is working to secure her release. Whether she has enough influence to do so is a different question, of course. Unfortunately for those others and their subordinates guarding this fortress, they miscalculated by not fully investigating who actually killed those demons, and therefore didn't understand what they had upset by threatening her. Atlazuko already explained the miscalculation the princess made.
@@spudgamer6049 Also the Hero and Demon King are symbols, calls to war, essentially, as they had been in the past. The idea on both sides was to kill the hero so no call to arms could happen. The demons invading the area that got wiped tried to end the hero before she could be the hero. Then the human side tried it. Both ended with the same result. Yes, it is a cycle, cycle that both sides don't want. They have the numbers and tech to do the same damage as the hero and the demon king, but they didn't figure out that the demon king this cycle was more OP than they could have ever imagined. It's funny. Both sides are attempting to break the cycle, not knowing that the cycle is now askew on its own.
I love that people seem to think there is some deeper relationship between Seika and Amu when she is literally just the lightning rod to keep everyone's attention off of Seika. Now maybe somewhere down the line the story takes it that way, but I can really only see him looking at it from the standpoint of a close friend that will keep people from relying on him for his powers.
There was more to it revealed early on; she looks almost exactly like his former star pupil who was like a daughter to him. She is his lightning rod, yes, but she also reminds him of someone he cares about even after she was manipulated to killing his former self.

One thing that was lost in translation here was how the princess called him "Seika-sama". Japanese are pretty sensitive to which honorifics to use, I'm pretty sure the others in the scene noticed too. It happens at between 2:20 and 2:22, but was cut out in the edit. Even the English subtitles didn't catch it.

This episode was a little... Cringe worth as it seems like his character got lost consistency, but if you think about it more, maybe he got his betrayal trauma reawakened and maybe his pride got hurt? Making him became quite reckless here... Not that he needed to worry though with his strength.
Iirc he promise himself in this new life to not life like his previous one To actually treasures his companions, rely on them, and protect them as much as he can so that he not ended up the same way like before

And he also figured this out as well. But i don't think it was shown well in the anime adaptation. It's why he doesn't really hold it against the person who betrayed him. But still wasn't something he would forgive. Plus i always wondered how it was done. Because he was the strongest in his old life. The only thing i can think of, she knew some weakness of his. And combined that with a sneak attack, he couldn't really react.

The switch up in character on this episode was crazy, bros been talking about being normal and playing it safe, and just a couple eps before the closest person to him almost gets turned into a sex slave for some spoiled prince and bro does nothing about it just yells at them. Now out of no where he decides to drop all that hard work to be normal and go to war with another country, killing 100s simply cause they arrested his friend💀. It just felt extremely forced and rushed in the last episode to the point where i was cringing at how retarded he is and wondering if i was even watching the same mc i've seen the last 13 episodes🤦♂️

When the moment of trust comes and amyu is branded a traitor and sent to jail, seika knew she will get killed like he was so that's when he storms the castle and start his rampage. In the original event before Fiona gained influence, amyu was killed before seika saved her which sparked his rage and burned, killed and destroyed everything into the ground. But since fiona gained some influence, she managed to keep amyu save in her cell and was not immediately killed.
Which was a great achievement itself since almost every high-ranking person in the empire wanted to kill the Hero to avoid war with the demons, but the princess failed at another important task, she couldn't get seika's trust. He was extremely pissed because the princess was preaching to him about trusting her to make thing right to avoid major issues but seika took offense into that since seika knew from the beginning that not once has the princess was truthful or honest with him, but instead tried to manipulate him into doing what she wanted and, on her terms, just so she could ask him to stand down when the time came. Seika saw what she was doing to him was the same manipulation that killed him in his previous life, the princess after hearing that there's no way that he can trust her decides to just do damage control instead.
With this the princess manage to change the future, it was not the best outcome that she was hoping for but it just enough to prevent seikas rampage, she failed to earn his trust but avoided destruction of the empire. Which leads to the current outcome, Seika doesn't trust the empire and the princess, so he decides to leave the empire and become fugitives since people still want to kill the Hero to avoid sparking another war. Later on, its learned that Seika is half demon. They did a game of thrones on seika (Jon snow) Seika's Biological father (Gilbert) meets Seika's mother while exploring the demon realm, When he was born, the priestess of the Demon identified Seika as the new demon King and wanted to take baby seika away from his parents to raise him as a tool of War, his parents escaped with seika but Gilbert got killed to ensure seika and his mother could escape. The mother went to the Blaise house and told him that seika was the child of his brother Gilbert and that he was killed.
After she left seika with Blaise she went away to ensure that no one could track seika since the demon will not stop searching for her no matter what until found. Blaise was told nothing about seika, only that he was Gilberts child and the woman that brought seika hid her identity and race telling nothing about seika being a half demon or that he was a demon king for fear that the brother might kill the baby. Blaise in turn raised Seika as his bastard child but still kept close watch of him since he didn't know why Gilbert was killed.

They picked a fight with someone they should not have messed with. He wiped the floor with them to the point it was not even considered a fight, and as a FLEX he revived them (no one died).
What makes this even more terrifying is that this is the Demon King protecting his friend the Hero.

But Haruyoshi, being an Exorcist (and the strongest one at that) with an indomitable spirit; was able to completely suppress these demonic powers, perhaps this suppression occurred mere moments before Seika's power was measured (as a Demon Lord would likely have immense magical prowess), and thus he seemingly had no magical power, but unbeknownst to everyone else; he possessed immense spiritual power and wisdom from his past life as Haruyoshi...
Seika later laments the fact that he reincarnated as this world's Demon Lord, but also admits that it was wishful thinking to believe that "The Strongest Exorcist" would be able to live a quite life after reincarnating, he also summised that this was the reason why he reincarnated in a different world... there was literally no one in his old world whose body was strong enough to house his powerful soul

Also they deliberately use the term "Devil King" (or Maou in Japanese) incorrectly in this anime. It's supposed to be some Great Evil. But in this anime Devil King is simply a powerful person.
And whet's even more laughable Saika simply protects those dear to him. He doesn't really want to conquer the world. He doesn't want to rule. He just minds his own business. Simply stay away from those dear to him and you won't be harmed.
I'd take this kind of Devil King over any other any day.
Seika was very cruel and manipulative in the beginning of the anime. But he changed. He's a better person now. If humanity forces him to act - humanity deserves to be destroyed. Simple as that.
I think Seika's manipulations were simply a means to secure a peaceful life by the Hero's side, as to not draw attention to himself... once he realised that wasn't going to work, he stopped going out of his way to hide his powers and manipulating others for his own selfish gains, outside of simply using powers that are more convenient to explain
There is a cycle in that world of a demon king who periodically appears and a hero is born to stop him. This time around seika is the demon king and the demon squad leader is horrified to learn he has sided with the humans and befriended the hero.
Seikas mom was a demon priestess, he's literally half Demon, Maou is very much correctly used
Problem is the nobles are also the politicians who govern humanity and are set in their ways how things are to proceed, and if they decide on a course of action regardless of how that decision affects the outcome of that choice, then damn the consequences the will of the nobility is to be followed and not questioned.
Stupid decisions will lead to an end of an Empire and the noble political system is doomed to collapse if they get their way and kill the hero to prevent another war with the demon king/ villain.

Okay somebody who's read the source mats, what's the plan here? The princess was quite literally at seika's house, why not talk to him then? Why possibly sacrifice all those lives to talk to seika? Why frame amu? In what world would assassinating the child hero not rally the humans to fight?
She made a major miscalculation. you see she spent so much time with her visions of him that to her there where friends already and forgot that to him he didn't know her. and her being so familiar with him came off as her trying to manipulate him and as a major red flag. had she made an effort to actually befriend him instead of trying to manipulate him this would have gone very differently. but she gave him no reason to trust her and then was surprised when he didn't. and he wouldn't have because trusting blindly got him murdered in his past life. he's not keen on history repeating itself.

IIRC, the princess didn't have the hero arrested on trumped up charges, some other members of the government did. Both humans and demons in general like the status quo, which includes only low level violence, not the massive conflicts associated with the appearance of the demon king and hero. Both's population and technological/magical levels have grown to the point that the inability of a demon king or hero to be in multiple places at once suggests to them that, based on the strength of previous cycles, neither would be a decisive, or even significant, factor in which side won the war. The ones who had the hero arrested plan to disspose of the hero with the hopes of breaking the cycle of violence. The princess has somehow managed to stall or prevent the death those others had in mind, and is working to secure her release. Whether she has enough influence to do so is a different question, of course. Unfortunately for those others and their subordinates guarding this fortress, they miscalculated by not fully investigating who actually killed those demons, and therefore didn't understand what they had upset by threatening her.

@@spudgamer6049 Also the Hero and Demon King are symbols, calls to war, essentially, as they had been in the past. The idea on both sides was to kill the hero so no call to arms could happen. The demons invading the area that got wiped tried to end the hero before she could be the hero. Then the human side tried it. Both ended with the same result. Yes, it is a cycle, cycle that both sides don't want. They have the numbers and tech to do the same damage as the hero and the demon king, but they didn't figure out that the demon king this cycle was more OP than they could have ever imagined. It's funny. Both sides are attempting to break the cycle, not knowing that the cycle is now askew on its own.
I love that people seem to think there is some deeper relationship between Seika and Amu when she is literally just the lightning rod to keep everyone's attention off of Seika. Now maybe somewhere down the line the story takes it that way, but I can really only see him looking at it from the standpoint of a close friend that will keep people from relying on him for his powers.
There was more to it revealed early on; she looks almost exactly like his former star pupil who was like a daughter to him. She is his lightning rod, yes, but she also reminds him of someone he cares about even after she was manipulated to killing his former self.

One thing that was lost in translation here was how the princess called him "Seika-sama". Japanese are pretty sensitive to which honorifics to use, I'm pretty sure the others in the scene noticed too.

How would anyone trust Princess Fiona. I dont understand how she doesn’t have the introspection to know that shes acting shady af and doesn’t deserve a hint of trust from Seika, Amyu, or anyone really, when she uses her power like that. This episode was a little... Cringe worth as it seems like his character got lost consistency, but if you think about it more, maybe he got his betrayal trauma reawakened and maybe his pride got hurt? Making him became quite reckless here... Not that he needed to worry though with his strength.

@@jack1235ify Well it's possible. But i remember the real reason she betrayed him, had to do with the other students he taught. If she didn't go after him, the other students would have been killed. It's why she was crying when he was dying. Because she knew she did something she would regret for the rest of her life. And wasn't something she would be forgiven for. And he also figured this out as well. But i don't think it was shown well in the anime adaptation. It's why he doesn't really hold it against the person who betrayed him. But still wasn't something he would forgive. Plus i always wondered how it was done. Because he was the strongest in his old life. The only thing i can think of, she knew some weakness of his. And combined that with a sneak attack, he couldn't really react.

The switch up in character on this episode was crazy, bros been talking about being normal and playing it safe, and just a couple eps before the closest person to him almost gets turned into a sex slave for some spoiled prince and bro does nothing about it just yells at them. Now out of no where he decides to drop all that hard work to be normal and go to war with another country, killing 100s simply cause they arrested his friend💀. It just felt extremely forced and rushed in the last episode to the point where i was cringing at how retarded he is and wondering if i was even watching the same mc i've seen the last 13 episodes🤦♂️
You're quick to employ the big word ... If you think it's something "retarded" to be angry when you're told your friend and the person you protect is gonna be unfairly killed... well I don't know what to say.
Plus, let it be said, Ifa was never meant to be a sex slave. The prince literally wants her out of slavery and "set her free" (we do agree that the term "free" doesn't really mean free in this case, but you know). There was no life or dead stakes at that point, unlike here with Amu.
However, I do agree that the way he just screamed at the Prince was a bit cringe, I think he should have been angry as soon as he showed up with a dragon, but it doesn't make the whole show bad or suddently the mc is a bad mc.
And people also can change. Sometimes you have a plan, like trying to look normal, but then it doesn't work or you're in a situation that requires to change your plan and you do. You can have character development
