In general, it's even funny that Kane first told about "improved 57 more immersive AI", then broke the whole reality for Gummigoo, so that at the end, when he had hope for a better life - to kill him. It seems like a set of coincidences, and also a cunning plan to torture the heroes. Brilliant.

What surprises me is that we saw Pomni make a friend, even though she was depressed she managed to cheer up Gummigoo and invite him to the circus and get excited. But when Caine saw him, he eliminated him, giving a sad scene to a character who had a lot of dialogue and was eliminated. And at Kaufmo's funeral, Pomni realizes that her fear and anxiety do not exist and that she does not have to suffer alone since she knows that there are people who care about her. Precisely Jax was the only character in the circus who did not care and who only loved her. violence. and when she talks about Kaufmo's funeral, she did not mind going with her circus companions. And what surprises me the most is that this show has been out for a year and it is still amazing.
To be fair Gummigoo was teleported back to his dimension. We do see him in episode 4.
I noticed that at the end( 24:05 ) when Pomni was falling down the abstraction pit, everyone grabbed onto her EXCEPT Jax. Probably because he's the only one Pomni doesn't see as a potential friend since he's so antagonistic.

it's a defense mechanism, protecting from the feeling of low self-worth or powerlessness (with btw is what all these characters do in their own way. kind of the whole point of this show and I like that)

19:12 Kinger was very coherent in this scene. I am now just realizing this was because he had the bucket on his head, so he was technically in darkness. The fact that Ragatha does not seem surprised has me believe that she knows he is saner when in darkness or at least realizes he has sane moments. This also makes me wonder what, if they could get Kinger a blindfold or something, when they need him for more serious conversations.
I think that when kinger is in the dark,he can remember and think clearly but when he is out he thinks about bugs

Gooseworx wasn't lying when she said this episode would be about depression.
Gummigoo having a existential crisis, learning his entire reality is fake.. the same reality Pomni was put through. It was so bittersweet how she was able to empathize with his suffering and help him find the good in his dilemma.
Sure, in his case the whole world is fake. However, the emotions you harbor, the bond you share between those you love, THOSE feelings are real. Pomni helping him in that sense was such a sisignificant development, especially how she was just like him.

- The AI being "57x more immersive" means Caine inadvertently allowed Gummigoo to comprehend his true nature but he could also erase his existence with zero effort. That's so darkly comedic, it's great.
- Jax not being as funny and just more violent and manipulative seems like a deliberate effort by Gooseworx to establish how awful Jax is, as she's stated that he is the Digital Circus member that deserves to be trapped within the simulation the most.

- Jax is the only circus member who isn't seen grabbing Pomni's hand. It's not really surprising considering his actions towards her in this episode, so it's no wonder why Pomni wouldn't think he has her back.
- It's hard to make out due to his lack of arms, but Kinger is among those grabbing Pomni's hand too, as you can vaguely see his white glove. I like that in spite of his ineptness, Pomni still believes he has her best interest in mind, especially considering he's made two (albeit failed) attempts to rescue her during the chase scene.
- Although Ragatha, Gangle, Kinger, and Zooble ALL grab onto Pomni's hand, It's Ragatha's hand who Pomni grabs onto. I think it's fitting because Ragatha has been extremely supportive of Pomni ever since she's arrived. Doing her best to make her feel welcome, checking up on her in the morning to see if she's okay, and expressing concern when she's put in danger. By the end of this episode, I think Pomni realizes she's taken Ragatha's kindness for granted, so I'm glad we have some implication that Pomni trusts her the most.
Damn this was actually a really good analysis and an amazing detail in the show

Gummigoo is a year old now
I hate how Gummigoo just perished so quickly, but at least it was quick and he didn’t know what was coming for him! You know it’s good writing when the show isn’t consistently relying on shock horror as humor. You can tell some of the lines are foreshadowing for what’s to come, such as Ragatha saying Caine does like to reuse NPCs. This won’t be the last time we’ll be seeing him, but hopefully he’ll be okay next time.
Comedy, but also drama, and a sense of adventure, I'm sure looking forward to more episodes.
I'm definitely enjoying the existential horror being ever present.
tbh I don't think it'll be him in his next few appearances. I think it works like the Ayanami Rei clones in Evangelion: they're all copies of the same template and each copy has its own separate memories

There's something subtle that I feel it's worth noting. In the ending first episode, together with the intense music, it was zooming out form the dinner table, to the whole circus area, to the grounds, then out of the void to the screen it feels like a cry to "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!".
But then in this ending it zoomed out from the funeral, to the circus area then stops at the tent. Clarifying that Pomni is adjusting to her surroundings and realising the support given by the people she's with.

happy one year anniversary, episode two.
I think this episode is very important because it shows just how genuinely kind hearted and caring Pomni is as a person, and how she’s willing to help comfort people. She is such an empathetic person and this episode captured it perfectly imo. Episode one also showed us that she is empathetic from the very start, but this episode definitely showed more of that.
this was a very important episode for Pomni. The character development for her at the end is very good one and it’s definitely going to help her grow as a stronger person as the series goes on. It also showed us that there is more sides to her than just the anxious one of the group. The sass she had in this episode was fucking beautiful 💀

24:08 I think that is the most genuine smile that Pomni has ever given in this show. Before then her smiles were just out of being stress or nervous about the crazy stuff that is happening around her. However, at this moment at a place where she used to believe that she was alone in this madness comes to realize that despite everything that's happened she realizes that these people genuinely care for each other and honor those they have lost. She finally knows now that they do care for her and won't leave her behind to be abstracted. Because when you're in a place that feels like a prison there is always people who share your struggles and can support you. Pomni now can ease up knowing she is not alone on her journey.

Gummigoo gave me an interesting thought. I know he's an NPC, but think about what Caine said at the end there. "If i loose track of who's an AI and who's a human".

The fact that this show went from a short pilot to a huge organization with plushes, toys, keychains, clothes, etc. absolutely shocks me. And the fact that all of this popularity came from one episode is even crazier.
It's actually genius. Deep philosophical/ethical concepts (if you pay close attention) , likeable characters, and a mysterious backstory. All blended into fun, kid-friendly themes of technology / a wacky circus. Easy for both adults and children to follow along.

20:54 I don’t think most people understood this but he was disappointed and mad because the adventure wasn’t distracting enough for him, usually (from experience) if theres something that someone is trying to avoid, they usually distract themselves with something for a long time and cover it up to avoid thinking about it, so if that distraction ends or wasn’t long enough, it can get frustrating and remind you of your problems all over again. I may be wrong but i feel him :(

The funeral at the end is a lovely touch, I think a lot of shows these days like to do the cynical "haha nothing matters and this character is gone" bit without also having those sweet, somber moments of grieving to complete that line of thought. Death is inevitable and it can be sudden and cruel, but what we do after in their memory can be tasteful and sweet and loving.
