    FX needs to check if it works for 177 before selling it blindly.surely it may be it works in larger caliber efficiently.

    Thank you Peter. I have to say I found exactly the same, no increase in my .22 with 700mm barrel shooting 29gr slugs with Huma air dual port and slug power kit. In the Power Block itself I found do differences as to why it would actually give more power, I found one extra o ring inside where the barrel slides in but apart from that nothing. Basically a complete waste to time and money if you already have the 720 Plenum. Getting the Power Block is pointless.

      Maybe it requires. 25 or bigger 🤔

    Fantastic vid Peter ! So nice that you say it the way it is. So I guess the best things about the Power Block for a 177 is the enjoyment of installing and testing 😀

    Peter,
    You have accomplished a number of things with your test . Educated those who were thinking of switching over and saving them money .
    Also , you may have spent money you didn’t need to spend , but , gotten experience taking your Impact apart and learning it’s internals .
    Why not leave your Impact with the power plenum intact . It’s not hurting your existing performance .
    Another point , your Impact is ready for any eventual changes in your country , if legislation ever allowed a bigger bore setup . All you need do is change out the barrel and probe .

    Hi, your test is very interesting despite you didn't earn power .
    other topic, On my channel , i have just tested Slug Zan 357 / 125 grains,
    The accuracy is impressive.

    Hey Peter great video I got one for my fx impact m3 22 and it did not do anything for the gun at all it was the same lol but I did install in my fx mk2 25 cal 700mm and it made that gun alot more powerful but I decided to keep the fx mk2 25 shooting 34 gr jsb at 885 fps at 100 bar and I get a ton of shot it's like 125 shot per fill at 55 fpe and the gun is very accurate thanks for sharing bsafe buddy I really enjoy watching your videos in the morning when I'm off from work with cup of coffee ☕️ ty buddy for setting the record straight about this power block

    Hello my friend.
    How are you?
    My name is Joselito, I'm Brazilian and a subscriber to your channel. I need your help to clarify a question.
    I have an FX IMPACT M3 in .22 caliber and I recently bought a Liner Heavy and received it in the 1.18 version in the 700mm size. I haven't seen any information about it or about the difference between the 1.18 and the 1.16 on any website or forum.
    I noticed that the shock of the 1/18 is much greater than that of the 1/16, because the velocity decreases a lot with the 1/18.
    Could you explain to me what the technical difference is between the Liner 1/18 and the 1/16?
    Thank you

      Hi Joselito
      Thank you for following my channel 🙂
      I am no expert in neither 22 cal or in twist rates, but I do know a bit about the basics.
      The 1:16 and 1:18 are the indications of the twist rate. Many places prefered to as TR.
      The number referes to the length in inches that the grooves take to go one full turn. So in the 1:16 it is 16 inches for a full turn. And this shows that a 1:16 is tuning faster than the 1:18 making it capeable of stabilizing the ammo better.
      Slugs are supposed to perform better with faster twist rates.
      I have no experience with this since the only twist rate available in 177 is 1:18.

    On mine m3 22cal sniper it makes the power come in in at a the lower 2reg pressure (80 to 112bar)nsa slug 17.5g 1084 fts 700mm slug barrel.Std hammer do not cut it above 130.

  • @jean-claudelaboy9679
    @jean-claudelaboy9679 ปีที่แล้ว

    The power block is not going to show much of an improvement with the longer 700mm barrel unless you were to add a heavier spring and/or hammer. Now if you tested the power block with a 500mm barrel, vs 500mm with stock block you would see a large improvement.

  • @KnutArneGauteplass
    @KnutArneGauteplass ปีที่แล้ว

    Try less 2reg p . Valve 4 lines + 1.5 turns. Hammer 16. Start from 75 bar and come up 5 bars at the time. Happy testing

    Thank you for the information. I have a MKII in .22, so for me, the Power Block probably won't make much difference. I also have a MK1 that I replaced the original plenum with the Power Plenum. That made a huge difference. Originally shooting .34 grain 25 cal at 930 FPS at 140 bar, after Power Plenum install same performance at 120 bar. Seems to have improved accuracy as well. Don't ask how, I don't know but it made a difference to me.
    Thank you again!

    • @VikingAirgunner
      @VikingAirgunner  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for sharing your experiences 🤗 The new plenum holds 720 cc where the old power plenum held 540 cc, so maybe the extra might give some additional power for the mkll? 🤔

    • @bg3160
      @bg3160 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VikingAirgunner If there is a difference, I think you'd only notice the difference at larger calibers. My MK1 is a .25 cal with max reg pressure of 150 bar. The MKII is a .22, shooting 18 grain JSB's at 930 or so at 110 bar. The MKII, I believe can go up to 180 bar, so for me, adding more to the plenum or adding a power block probably won't make much difference.
      If I moved to slugs, the .25 might benefit from the power block, and since I'd need more air for the .22 as well to push the slugs over 1000 fps, might see a difference there. I think it depends on what you want to shoot.
      I don't think tinkering with my generation of Impacts makes much sense since they both shoot so well. It's a great sport!

    It would have been helpful in your video, if you had compared the power block vs the standard block by measuring the holes, transfer port, lengths etc. with a vernier to see what the difference is.

    • @VikingAirgunner
      @VikingAirgunner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that could be an interesting test - but also very time consuming 😃
      I abandonned the dual hole transfer port since the spread was too bog, so my main focus is on the standard transfer port 🙂
