Just bought one of these for my rifle. Box came with no instructions! You sir are my hero for showing me how to install correctly and setup. Thank you!
I've used harmonic barrel tuners for years and I have a few observations. 1st. and foremost is that most shooters lack the patience to repeatedly test and dial in a critical point of adjustment. 2nd. They really do come into their own for long range shooting. You need the larger pattern to dial in minuscule differences in adjustment. 3rd. once you wring it out you're still only as consistent as your ammo. Well Done ! 😎👍
Thank you so much for your input Marc 🙂 As for my experience with the tuner I have reached a quite similar conclusion. My own barrel tuner will find its way back to my gun soon. I just have to find the time and motivation to shoot those 100+ slugs to get it dialed in 😂 And speaking of ammo - I have an exciting video on the subject in pipeline 😃
Hi. That was a fantastic video, I think that there a few important points that need to be added to one of your next videos. For all the private tuners out there, it's important that the extreme spread (ft/s) is respectable and kept under 7 fps, the bigger the spread the bigger the groups, so to start off with the barrel tuner you need to of achieved a stable gun setting, and this is where the tuner will prove its worth, as previously we tuned using speed and then optimised the air consumption. Where with the tuner we achieve the desired speed and tune the spread then dial in the accuracy with the tuner. Hope this can be spoken about in your next video. Thanks Rob. Oh yes I saw a question from a UK 🇬🇧 shooter asking about 12flbs guns and if it would help. The answer is yes yes yes. Logic is the ever barrel oscillates even 12flbs.
Hi Robert 🙂 Thank you so much for adding usefull information. I really appreciate it 🤗 I actually had a picture of a string that I shot with my spread and std div. that I wanted in the video. And I only remebered it when you wrote it 😃 I will be sure to mention it in one of my next videos! Best regards and thanks for watching - and the super input 🤗
Great review! So glad you showed it on a shorter barrel FX! All of the other reviews I have done and others on the FX Team have been on the longer 700mm barrels. One point to make sure to emphasize is the need for the initial velocity tune to get the velocities tight. Then start the harmonic tuning process just like to demonstrated. Very well done!
Hi Chris Thanks for commenting - and Im really happy that you liked my review. I have seen quite a few videos where you talk about the barrel tuner, so it came natural to me to test it out. Actually I was planning to talk about the basic tune of the gun and the spread/std div and the importance of this, but I simply forgot to talk about it. Thank your for your involvement in the production of the barrel tuner - and for sharing my video 🙂 Best regards Peter P
Received my barrel tuner and carbon sleeve today. Installed the carbon sleeve and discovered my Impact only had 2 rubber rings supporting the 500mm inner barrel, when most YT videos said there should be 3. Unfortunately, the weather hasn't allowed me to do a full tune yet but, I managed a short test and I've already seen a vast improvement in my groupings. Can't wait to do the tune properly and will use your method shown here. Thank you, again!
Totally loving the content and the channel, only recently discovered you but already a fan. I love the fact that we have similar caliber restrictions so what you're doing is really applicable to me. Keep up the good work
With the NSA .22 slug 23 grain .218@ 940 fps the best I have grouped at 105 yards is .625 inches , this was before installing the carbon fiber liner . I will need to test it with the heavier NSA 31.2 grain .218 @ 940 fps . I like the idea of an adjustable harmonic balancer but can’t imagine grouping better than what I have shot . Thanks for the video ! 👍
Shouldn’t you re-zero first after installing the tuner? Because i installed a new, approximately the size of the barrel tuner longer,, moderator on my M3 and it made a difference of about 2”, so i had to re-zero it.
Hello good review.! 👍. Does it only fit on fx airguns, or can we put it on any brand? Example my hatsan BT65 elite 4.5mm .177?. Also, since my suppressor is in 22 caliber, I should put the 22 adapter in it so that the .177 pellets don't touch it. Thanks in advance
Thanks buddy 🙂 The tuner fitts any gun with a 1/2 UNF thread and it comes with inserts in 22, 25 and 30 cal. You can also check out a video I did on the harmonic barrel tuner from Eagle Vision that will fit many different threads and had specific inserts for more calibers 👍
Hey mate thabk you for you amazing video. I have purchased a 700mm mk3 impact and I will start shooting with it in about a month or so. I want to get the vest results I can out of it so I got a heavy slug liner waiting to be fitted as well. Do you think it would be better to buy the tuber with carbon fibre sleeve or would it be just as good by itself ?
Ohh I wish that I was the one waiting to shoot a new gun - and especially the M3! It is such a nice gun. There are a few places the make wrong turns in the setup of the gun and that is when it can be a challenge. My best results had come after I went back to stock configuration (almost) I think that the barrel tuner that I tested is the way to go. My theory is that with the full carbon version you will have it on there all the time. And I know that the setting of the tuner can be wrong - so in this way it is just another variable to take into consideration while tuning the gun. So what is velocity and what is the tuner? My suggestion is to tune the gun in the original setup and make it as accurate as possible. Then you know the basic tune is perfect. Then add the tuner and tune it like Im doing in this video. I hope that my explanaition makes sense 😃
Excellent video! I'm looking for the barrel tuner only, not shrouded one...So is the barrel tuner a universal item, is there one available for my LCS SK-19 .30 cal...i have the 1/2 thread already set up for my DonnyFL Emperor moderator where can i get one.

Great information and review. When you mention the three inserts, do you mean that one of those inserts is for .177 and .22 combined (i.e. this particular one can be used for either calibre) and the other two are for specifically .25 and .30. Also, is it easy to fit the inserts? Cheers👍
Thanks 🙂 Yes the small insert is for both 177 and 22, and the bigger ones are for the specific calibers 🙂 The insert is very easy to install. Thanks for your comment Best regards Peter P
Thank you for posting. Once you found the best setting, can you remove the tuner from the barrel for storage and later reinstall and expect to retain your best tune? The Impact comes with a very nice and much appreciated storage case but with a 700 mm barrel, it just barely fits in this case with the moderator removed. Hence the reason for my question.
From my own expence, yes. But since we are deling in one revolution devided into 36 settings you have to be sure that the shroud remains in the same place. Not loosening are tightening it when removing and reinstalling the barrel tuner. Just a little turn will switch the balance slightly. Your 0 will not be far away, but off cause better to be sure not to move the rotation of the shroud.
Hi Jerry Yes I have the carbon fiber barrel sleeve installed. After installing it the groups tightend up at all velocities. I can only imagine the it will be a plus for your 700 mm 😎
I have no experience with the 22 cal but my impression is that it will work on any barrel that has vibrations - so I think that you will find it usefull. But keep in mind: Find the right tune without it first and then do the test like I did. In that way you will find its true potential- As for now Im still searching for the sright tune with my M3, so I dont have it installed, since I just find it to interfer. But when the tune is in place I will use it again 🤓 Thanks for your comment and a merry christmas for you Roy Best regards Peter P

Hi good video.. I’m in uk I was wondering if you think the harmonic tuner will make a difference to a sub 12 ft pound rifle… we can only have 12 ft pound legally without a firearms certificate.
Hi Andy🙂 I have no experience with the sub 12,but my guess is that you can use it. Any gun will vibrate when fireing and this defenately have an effect 🙂 Best regards Peter P
I have my regulator pressure set at 135bar on my FX 177 dreamline, I'm using the FX chronograph and getting avg velocity of 933fps with the 13.43 jsb slugs, groups are over 1" at 60yds I believe because the extreme velocity spread is 16fps, the hammer spring is all the way in and backed out about 3/4 of a turn. Question to anyone who has been down this road already, where should I set the regulator pressure and hammer spring? The barrel tuners are not available in the US yet so I want to get the gun tuned for slugs before they get here in feb or mar 2022
Im not an expert on the Dreamline, so I dont know to wich extend the settings can be compared to the settings on the Impact. The 135 bar sounds like alot. Just watch out that you dont overpower the gun since it will have the opposite effect. Are u using the Huma dual hole transferport? It is essentiel when shooting slugs in the 177.

Hi Curt Hehe.. The box is one that I found in the closet after 30 years - Gamo Match - remember those? 😀 I just thought that it would be kinda funny to use the box for my 13,43 gr KO's 😀
Great video, the first I've seen with the stand alone tuner, thanks for pushing the envelope of performance. I'll be looking at one for my rapid and m3 when available in the uk.
Interesting and congratulations on the new toy. Could you not be tempted to investigate what happens when shooting speed changes. Should the barrel tuner then be set again or? As usual, good and informative video by the way.
Thanks buddy 🤗 I think that the gun will have a "vibration signature" and no matter what you change this signature will change. So different speed will need a new setting on the barrel tuner. But also things like a new silencer, new rail, change of scope an so on. And for sure the way we hold the gun and pull the tigger 🙂 Best regards and thanks for watching mate 🙂
It looks like that is the situation in many places. I dont know any places that has it available. So only one thing to do... Check several places every day - thats what I do looking for new liners at the moment 😀
I'm a Norwegian hunter. Had the tuner on order and cancelled. Adding a weight on the end of the barrel for bench rest target and competition is a good idea but not for hunting. I like the way you conducted your testing !! Sub-MOA group at 100m, that's great !! Has this group size (at 100 meters) proven to be repeatable with this same tuner setting? What's the weight of this stand-alone FX Barrel Tuner? I'm wondering if my Dream Tac barrel would like it or not (might be too heavy for the Dreamline, as the mount point of the barrel is definitely not as strong as on an Impact). Thanks for the time you spent on that, and for sharing with the community 🙂
I have only tried the 100 m once with the barrel tuner, so I hope that it will perform like this again 😀 I have a video in my head - "Hunting for the sub inch group" so hopefully I can give you an answer soon 🙂 As for the fit on a Dream Tac - I only have my experience on the Impact, but from the looks of the gun I would say yes. I have tested both JSB KO 13,43 and 10,03 and NSA 15 and 12,5 gr. I have some videos here on my channel that you can check out 🙂
Best regards
Peter P
@@VikingAirgunner Sounds just like my stock of pellets, lol.
@@MrRockstar1968 😂😂
Hi good video.. I’m in uk I was wondering if you think the harmonic tuner will make a difference to a sub 12 ft pound rifle… we can only have 12 ft pound legally without a firearms certificate.
Hi Andy🙂
I have no experience with the sub 12,but my guess is that you can use it. Any gun will vibrate when fireing and this defenately have an effect 🙂
Best regards
Peter P
@@VikingAirgunner thank you.
@@andydowden8117 Hi Andy, John Whiscombe used a barrel tuner ( HOTS) on his 12ftlb FT rifles in the 90's
@@VikingAirgunner Not sure those are available in the US but I'm looking, thank you
@@kevink552 They can be ordered from Huma-Air 🙂
Fantastic informative video, just bought one will let you know 👌
Hi,good video i fitted the same unit to my M3 .22 used your results and agree that the 3.31 setting is really good for me at 25 and 50 metres. interesting to watch.
Thanks Alan
Great that you have good results 😎
Thanks for the interesting video, could you tell how much the tuner itself weighs?
Thanks buddy 🙂
The tuner weighs 192 g/6.77 ounces 🙂
Thank you very much for the information.
Good morning friend, l´m watching this video in Brasil, if possible give me the link where l can buy it, l really liked it. thank you very much in advance.
great video just curious if the tuner is plastic steel or aluminum
Thanks Lee 🙂
The tuner is made from steel and weighs 192 gram.

@@VikingAirgunner thanks and you are welcome
Hi .Good video...what is your ammo for 100 meters and the Fps ?
Thank you Marc 🙂
Im using the 13,43 gr. JSB KnockOuts at 977 fps in this video 🙂
Never see the barrel tuner in any of you recent vids ? What's your long term opinion of it?
Thanks for the vids one of the best FX vloggers on YT just wish you shot .22
Thank you for your comment 🙂
And thank you for a good question. I have been asked about the barrel tensioner quite a few times so since my next video will be about tuning I will make a chapter about the barrel tuner - so thanks for bringing it up 🙂 I will credit you for reminding me in the video 🤗
Great video and information, didn't know that the tuner was available without the shroud.
Thanks man 🙂
I didnt know either, so I was surprised when I saw it 😃
Was that pellets you tossed into a 5/6 MOA hole at 100m?!?
Hi Curt
Hehe..
Thanks man 🤗
Thanks.. very informative.. appreciated
Hi, only one thing. There is missing one shoot withou silencer and harmootuner!!!! Shoot also just empty barrel withou shroud. Just for reference...
Interesting and congratulations on the new toy. Could you not be tempted to investigate what happens when shooting speed changes. Should the barrel tuner then be set again or?
As usual, good and informative video by the way.
Thanks buddy 🤗
I think that the gun will have a "vibration signature" and no matter what you change this signature will change. So different speed will need a new setting on the barrel tuner.
But also things like a new silencer, new rail, change of scope an so on. And for sure the way we hold the gun and pull the tigger 🙂
Best regards and thanks for watching mate 🙂
Great detail. I hadn’t shopped yet, so I didn’t know the unit was small and not part of any longer shroud…
Thanks man 🙂 You can get the barrel tuner both like this one and integrated in a shroud - this one was the only one available when I bought mine 😀
Nice video bro, what is the weight of this please?
Thanks man 🙂
Actually funny that you should ask. I just weighed it today bcs another viewer asked me like 3 weeks ago 😀
It is 192 gram/6,77 ounces 😎
@@VikingAirgunner wow, that's quite a load.. I guess being a bench gun mostly that won't be a problem. thank you for your reply.
Hi where did you buy it
I bought it at Huma but it has all ready been sold out. Krale also has them, but same story there unfortunately 😕
I cant find this one all out of stock .... 😭😭
It looks like that is the situation in many places. I dont know any places that has it available.
So only one thing to do... Check several places every day - thats what I do looking for new liners at the moment 😀
Why u write numbers on the card whats that for.
The numbers on the taget match the setting of the barrel tuner, so I know wich groups belong to wich setting 🙂
What u mean you fine tune with small hasmarks.
@@Capodona1980 The small marks on the barrel tuner are called hashmarks
Amazing
Very nice 👌 👍
This fellow Viking may have to try the tuner.
Please update me with your results fellow viking 🤗
I'm a Norwegian hunter.
Had the tuner on order and cancelled.
Adding a weight on the end of the barrel for bench rest target and competition is a good idea but not for hunting.
My hunting air rifles have been tested for tight groups already. And I'd have to buy 10 of them. I hunt and do pest removal every week when I'm not on the ocean fishing
Cheers from sunny Florida 🌞 ☀️ 😎
Super video go info, fedt med en en dansk airgun youtuber... keep the videos coming 🤟🤟
Tusind tak Mark 🙂
Og tak fordi du kigger med 🙂
I imagine that pairing this with a carbon shroud and a digital gauge for a precise tune, you’d be able to get extremely dialed in. 👌
Ohh yes 😎
I got the M3 after this video was made and the Sekhmet gauge - just need the CF 😀
@@VikingAirgunner I put the cf on my Maverick sniper and the difference was crazy. It about cut the groups in half.
@@nategoodwin3329 And some people dont believe if they work 😂
@@VikingAirgunner it's a pretty basic concept. It won't matter what you add if your tune is crap. Practice also helps. Haha

Hi Chris; Thank you for the vid. I have an FX M4 in 25 Cal. on back order and I will be adding a FX Harmonic Tuner and a Donney and the carbon liner. I am new to pcp air guns but I know that Harmonic Barrel Tuners work on powder burners Thanks for the vid..............🦜
Hi friend, nice presentation and you know I'm trying to have one but the stocks are all out of stock, too bad I would have liked to test😉
Thanks buddy.
Its an interesting item, but it really takes some work to get the right result - but that makes it even more satisfying when good results come 🤗
@@VikingAirgunner Hi friend; I followed your advice and I too at the beginning was not very enthusiastic with this barrel tuner; but you will see in the second video that will be released this week with just a few shots I had a very, very reasonable group at 50m and this is only the first try, to follow as you said you have to see over time and refine the settings
What’s the FPS & Grains?
Im using the 13,43 gr KO and shooting them at 977 fps 🙂
I have both tuners the on two different rifles a Maverick sniper…22 and a mk2.25 both will do 1/4” groups at 50yards. And 1” groups at 100yards. Only trouble is I get poi shift with both rifles/tuners. Interesting! Good reason to keep waisting lead imho 😂 great video.
Those are great groups! 😎
Good info !
I bet it would be much more effective if it’s fitters direct to the barrel minis the shroud.
Agree 🙂
Nice one! I look forward to see you trying it with slugs!!!
Hi Pat 🙂
Im using the 13,43 gr KO 🙂
@@VikingAirgunner Ah good to know. It looked like you had a tin of pellets there. I just got a harmonic tuner and am waiting on my .177 KOs to arrive so I will be testing soon with .25, .22 and .177
Thats will be an interesting test!
The box is one that I found recently. It has been tucked away for like over 30 years. Gamo Match pellets 😃So I thought it would be funny to use it for my Best slugs 😜😂
@@VikingAirgunner Well today I just got my KO .177 slugs as well as some Griffin 16 grain boat tails in .177. As soon as the wind calms down it will be time to play!
@@sambaaxe Nice with the slugs 😎 You are lucky to get your hands on them. Seems difficult to find 😳
When you can add a carbon fiber sleeve for me it made a difference.
I will add the tuner next to see if it improves my groups.
The carbon sleeve made the gun much more stabile. All groups tightend in - even the bad ones! 🙂
The barrel tuner has my recommendations 🤗
Best regards and thanks for watching mate 🙂
These are 110% a gimmick and do not work what so ever. Yes i own one and no they dont work
@@crypto_creep8222 Sorry to hear that mate 🙁
I had some challenges in the beginning, but after going through the various settings like I do in this video, I found the key 🙂 As you can see I did a 25 mm group on 100 m where my pervious Best was a 34 mm group.
Give it another try mate 🤗
@@crypto_creep8222 what are your SD and ES numbers before using the tuner? You really need those dialed in first.

@@VikingAirgunner mange tak for svaret
Nice
I like the way you conducted your testing !! Sub-MOA group at 100m, that's great !! Has this group size (at 100 meters) proven to be repeatable with this same tuner setting? What's the weight of this stand-alone FX Barrel Tuner? I'm wondering if my Dream Tac barrel would like it or not (might be too heavy for the Dreamline, as the mount point of the barrel is definitely not as strong as on an Impact). Thanks for the time you spent on that, and for sharing with the community 🙂
I have only tried the 100 m once with the barrel tuner, so I hope that it will perform like this again 😀 I have a video in my head - "Hunting for the sub inch group" so hopefully I can give you an answer soon 🙂
As for the fit on a Dream Tac - I only have my experience on the Impact, but from the looks of the gun I would say yes. The purpose of the barrel tuner is to reduce vibrations, so yeah - I would believe that it would work on anything that has vibrations 🙂
Best regards
Peter P
@@VikingAirgunner Yes in theory it should work with any rifle. My concern regarding the Dreamline is the weight of this tuner. Do you know how much it weighs? Thanks !
@@stephj765RS I dont have the exact weight, and it is sitting on my gun right now, but I would imagine around 120 gram.
