    I like the look of the eibachs. Eibachs quality is top notch. I'm currently looking into lowering my car along with other suspension mods. If I don't end up getting coilovers I will definitely go with eibach.

    Just for looks I would say Whiteline. I did purchase a set of eibach springs, but had to sell them. Because of the aggressive wheel-tire combo I have, I can't lower my car without going widebody (not on my to-do list).
    Thanks Edge autosport for making informative videos like this, it really helps out the ST and RD community

    I'm surprised you didn't review the Mountune or Steeda springs. I was considering Mountune, but ended up getting the Steeda ones. Haven't installed them yet since I just got them, but I've heard good things about them in forums.
    Mountune comes with a full kit or springs only while steeda sells them separate from the bilseins on their site. Both companies say 1" drop in front and 1.4" for the rear.

    @dham99 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have had the H&R springs on for years now..drop was perfect for the stance, with upgraded rear sway bar (26mm), the car is amazing in the twisties and on track. I got rub with 245/40/18s, swapped in some 255/35/18's and it added a slight gap back, and almost zero rub except for high speed/large dips. But my stance is spot on, car handles great, and its proven itself on the track a few times...still on stock struts. (i have other mods obviously, but just mentioning the springs and rear bar)

    • @drzflyest4

    • @dham99
      @dham99 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drzflyest4 what'd you replace them with? I think mine are starting to show a loss in performance, it could be a bushing or something for the springs, but it could also be a strut by the sounds of it..a light 'clunking' over small bumps at low speeds.

    Giveaway! Nice. My Favorite was the Swift Spec-R.
    I bought them because they were the "hardest" (Front: 4.5 kg/mm, 251 lbs/in Rear: 5.0 kg/mm, 279 lbs/in) springs that I could find. I was very surprised that no one really talks about performance with Focus Springs vs. looks. I don't even think Eibach lists their spring rates. I even checked their website. @13:19 he says 2.2 kg/mm ? that can't be right since stock is harder. Maybe it is really squishy??
    Anyway, I got the swift for daily and autocross and they did VERY well for my first year in autocross. Not disappointed at all. They also hold up very well at high speeds over 130mph.
    Thanks for the video!

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, glad you liked it! We got some conflicting reports on spring rates and drops, that's why we figured we'd try them all out! We thought that sounded soft also, but the design has a lot to do with the feel as well, so perhaps that's by design? Way to get out there and track the car!

    I dont really want to email without giving you guys my business, but i had a question. My 2015 ST1 At 73k miles blew early January (23). Had been tuned by stratified for 6 months roughly, never had an issue, and one day on my way home i did a pretty hard pull as it was 28 degrees out and dry for once so i wanted to enjoy the car. On deceleration the car sputtered and sputtered and eventually just killed. I turned it back on cruised at 35mph with 1000’s of misfires the the AP was picking up and it sounded like a killer STI so i kind of instantly new it was done. Dealer said the head and block were basically melted/burnt. Warranty was voided (obviously) and had to pay $7300 out of pocket (but i have a fresh 0 mile motor). It’s really hard for me to believe the tune was the route cause of the issue and now that i have it back i’m hesitant to get another one, but i want more out of the car.
