Rock Stars Who Suffered The Most Tragic Deaths

  • The phrase "Live fast, die young, and leave a good-looking corpse" became reality for many rock stars. From overdoses to suicide to horrible accidents, the following rock stars died tragic deaths.
On the morning of February 3, 1959, early rock 'n' roll icons Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson, known as "The Big Bopper," died in a plane crash while touring together through the Midwest. The event became known as "The Day the Music Died" and saw the first premature deaths of young and popular musicians in the early history of the genre.
The crash also had a large impact on one of their contemporaries, according to Magic. Eddie Cochran was a part of the first wave of rock 'n' roll stars, along with the three musicians who passed. His songs "Summertime Blues" and "Twenty Flight Rock" became early classics in the genre and very popular among his teenage fan base. His appearance in films such as The Girl Can't Help It and Go Johnny Go helped his popularity grow.
But according to John Collis' biography, Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran, after the deaths of Holly, Valens, and Richardson, Cochran became obsessed with his own death, believing it was around the corner.
While touring in the United Kingdom in 1960 with fellow musician Gene Vincent, Cochran's premonition came true. Following a performance on Saturday, April 16, Vincent, Cochran, and others were involved in a single-car accident. Cochran died the next day, Easter Sunday, at the age of 21. He was the only one killed in the crash.

If not for Buddy, there be no elvis, Jerry Lee, Beatles, Nirvana etc. It takes the right sounds, words, look, talent at the exact time. Imagine if Nirvana would put out Nevermind Today. It would be good still but never have tge effect it did in August of 1991. Idk what it is, the wall coming down, freedom in the air Idk but it was the last truly mysterious, magical, and explosive outpouring of talent out of the north west and in America. After that we got Creed, Nickelback and Limp Bizkit. Smdh. Yes some songs was catchy but we went back to chasing that dollar. Grunge didn't care about that dollar. They truly cared about great music that captures the heart and soul. Now we got Tom Mcdonald who's doing well independently, Jelly roll lmfao music from a pastry. The Web ruined music. It was so satisfying to wait a month for the new issue of rolling stone etc to hear the latest news about our favorite bands. Or hearing about new music waiting months to hear a song. Now it's lost that. Now it's instant satisfaction. So much loses its value to the senses when we don't have to wait for it.

I just wanted to point out that this video did something that a lot of other videos or reports fail to do. When talking about Dimebag Darrell of Pantera/ damageplan, he mentioned the other three people who were tragically killed, a fan , a crew member and a security number for the club, called them by name. I point this out because, a lot of times they'll only mention the famous people and not give the names of the people who also killed. I just thought it was very respectful and worthy of making note. Good video with nice detail thank you

Jeff Buckley is one of the most tragic for me. With only one legendary album under his belt, to go out swimming while singing Led Zeppelin and accidentally drown is tragic. He is a legendary figure, I wonder how his career would have panned out if not for his death.

    • @nelliesilvers1210
      @nelliesilvers1210 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I must admit, my opinion at first (because of his song Grace and its lyrics) was that he drowned himself. It's easy to do if you truly want to go and he suffered depression pretty strongly. Certain lyrics like
"And I hear them drown my name, so easy to know and forget with this kiss
      I'm not afraid to go
      But it goes so slow"
I honestly thought his drowning was intentional. I'm definitely not a conspiracy theorist and came to the conclusion by my own doing. I do believe it really was just a drunken mishap though. Either way is tragic but the mishap just makes it more so, IMO. Grace and The Last Goodbye are two of my most favourite songs and will be at my funeral for sure.

Bon Scott didn't die the way it's always been put forth, when him and the guy he was with got to where they were going he was alive, awake and well, they went to an apartment and were hanging out with several people and Scott left, when he did he told them "I'm gonna go get some heroin", what exactly transpired after that no one knows for sure because the guy whose car he was found in and gave the story that everyone knows mysteriously dissapeared two days later, there's not even any proof that the guy even really existed in the first place and was probably someone else that gave a fake name to everyone when it happened.
Pete Way, the notorious wildman bassist from UFO that was even too wild to be in Ozzy Osbournes' band and coincidentally just died days ago, came foreward years after Scotts' death and said he was one of the people that was at the apartment Scott had come to after he was at the bar.
Scott was living with his ex girlfriend who was a heroin addict, I'm pretty sure the girl he was involved with at the time was a heroin user, and had been hanging out the last few weeks with members of UFO who were notorious heroin users at the time and it's likely he'd recently started using, so other people close to him like the other members of AC/DC wouldn't have known it.
If you read into his death and some of the statements made by people who saw him that night, like witnesses who say he wasn't that drunk when he left the bar, there's a lot of fishy things about the official narrative of his death.

Selena was 24 years old, just becoming an international pop star, when she was killed by a "friend". Im not sure what could be more tragic than that. The other tragic one that comes to mind is Terry Kath

Very sad. When John was home he was a loving, protective, responsible husband and father. He loathed being away from his family and would go overboard with the plonk after rehearsing etc. Alcohol is insidious.

He was good but Ian Paice is the GOVERNOR. He just wasnt a wild man like Moon and Bonham. So doesnt get the same notoriety. But no better drummer ever picked up a pair of sticks.
