  • So I have been meaning to film this thing. It’s just a low budget project. I’ve always had a thing for lawn mower racing. To me it is an excellent sport. One of the cheapest sports to race in. anyway this is a quick rundown of the budget mower. As the upgrades come in, I’ll be sure to update you guys with some videos. Thanks for hanging out! Please like and subscribe. It’s free. Also peep some of my other videos!

  • @zachburgaz4688
    @zachburgaz4688 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For the throttle you could have just by passed the old system and tied your cable straight to the governor arm. That would be a night and day difference and you should get full rev rang from the engine. The engine has a max rang of 4300rpms. So you so far unlocked like 2500rpms.
    So 27mph would be more like 34mph.

    • @aaronpratt89
      @aaronpratt89  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea I’m aware of how to get more out of it. However with the stock connecting rod, valve springs, and cast iron flywheel, id like to keep the rev range stock lol. It’s super reliable right now. But I agree I can get a few more mph out of it. I have the idea to tie a string to the throttle arm and get those rpms when I need them with a quick yank lol.

      @mr.matthews67 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree I've looked everywhere for the label under the seat for my Murray. I guess it rested off years ago. The original owner said it's been sitting there for close to 15 years. Turns out the engine was manufactured in 1999. Guess it's good enough for a ballpark figure.

    Is it best to have small on the back and big on the front?

    • @aaronpratt89
      @aaronpratt89  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, from the factory the small pulley is on the engine and the large is on the transaxle. You want to spin the transaxle faster to increase the speed of the machine. Only way to do that is to change the pulley ratio. Search some pulley ratios on TH-cam. I’m sure there is a video to help better explain it.
