21hp Twin Racing Mower | Pulley Swaps & Test Runs

  • In this video I pulley swap my racing lawnmower on the engine and jackshaft to slow it down just a little bit and ultimately get rid of the 40 series torque converter because it is a massive stall converter and is VERY jumpy. A top speed of 40-45 will be fine. I also take it down the road to see how it is and yeah it is awesome!

    hi, I saw your video and I also installed the torque converter. 40 series on my electric tractor it has a 10kw motor it weighs 400kg but the belt overheats after a few km and the same thing happens

      I don't fully know exactly however, tires and steel was the most expensive pieces and all the little stuff all adds up fairly quickly too, but if I had to guess maybe 3-400 lol.

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah is still the original transaxle, never been inside of it and diff is still open. I did however change the fluid a couple of times.

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alright! The way it is currently is 4 inch on the engine, 3 1/2 on the jackshaft(bottom), 8 inch on the top of the jackshaft, and 3 inch on the transaxle. If I were to guess it is probably a 3 to 1 total ratio from the engine to the transaxle.

    I have a craftsman dlt 3000 and it would go very slow forward and very fast in reverse. I did a pulley swap on it and it goes a tiny bit faster forward but really fast in reverse. Is there a way I can change this? I would like it to be the other way around. Any info would be nice. Please and thank you. I look around on the internet and can’t seem to find a straight answer. 😅

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The transmission possibly could be mounted backwards or upside down making it that way. If it is a F-N-R MTD with the vary-drive then maybe. I would have to look at in person to really know lol.

    does the transaxle have anything done to it?. I mean like is it still grease, or is it oil filled?

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Racing Mower is completely stock, changed the diff fluid accouple of times. Right now is 12oz of 75w90 and 4-6oz of 0w20 motor oil to help thin it out for the insane speed the shafts are spinning(10x faster than stock). The Off-road Mower has a welded diff and 18oz of 75w90 differential fluid. I have full diff oil in it because it is geared lower than the Racing Mower at only 21mph max, whereas the racing mower is geared for like 50-55mph.

    • @joshysgarage8036
      @joshysgarage8036 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @IngenTechNational I have a race mower I'm making I want it to go 35mph do you think it will be fine with the stock grease?. (i will not be going 35 constantly)

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don't know what type of transmission you have but mine is a Tecumseh Peerless MST-206 that is oil filled, if it is a very similar transmission with actual gears then if you are doing high speed, yes I would take the grease out because it is a semi-solid and doesn't work well for highspeed, you need some thinner oil to lubricate better and stay cooler. I would just fill it with some 75w90 or take the whole transmission apart to clean the grease(I guess you probably won't do that lmao cuz I wouldn't either) You can research your transmission online to find more information on what you can do.

    • @IngenTechNational
      @IngenTechNational  ปีที่แล้ว +1
