Hilarious and simple solution...a flashlight😂
Catnip and a laser pointer would have gone far.
this story hits hard, simply because, unlike other stories, where the protagonists pass the odd occurences off as a prank and move on, remaining calm until they actually are practically dead, this protagonist is seeing the small signs from the start, and desperately trying to remain calm, and failing. this hits hard because the protagonists fear is real, even before the monster is put into play.
Slip and fall, employee abuse, Threatening, blackmailing... The lawsuits would have made the protagonist a millionaire! 😀
Unfortunately, HR and the boss would have done everything in their power to smear him if he tried.
@@wanderingcalamity360 They always do, even in real life! 😀 However, an animal's claw slashes are easily distinguishable and getting slashed to ribbons in an office building itself is enough ground for a lawsuit. Failure to provide a safe environment.

My favorite is the half priced voodoo shop (part 1, of course).
I listened to someone else read part of it but it was so lifeless.
He has a really nice voice. I'm from Yorkshire in the UK and I hate my accent, didn't know I had one until I went to Egypt having my evening meal on the Nile and the guy of a honeymoon couple just blurted out "You can tell your from Yorkshire, Leeds?". Is said no, Wakefield. Wish I could change it.

Ugh, there’s a room in my parents house that sometimes gives me this exact feeling. The only difference is that I’m passing it to go up to my bedroom. Unlike OP, I run when I do lol
Apparently, there's a certain vibration that will often make you feel...weird, like a room is haunted, and is often mistaken for such.
It makes you feel uneasy, and the feeling like someone is behind you, etc.
Often, subtly vibrating pipes or something are to blame.
Fix that up and the weird feeling issue goes away as well.
Apparently, we have a sense of vibrations like that makes us feel uneasy in order to help us detect when a cave might be about to cave in...back when we used caves as shelter. It makes us want to run, so we won't get squashed!
So yeah...science! :P

@@alexanderingraham8255 yeah. It's near definitely just some weird pipes or something like that.
Even if there were actually something there, it can't really do much. They work the same as a regular fear. It's like a newborn behind a 3-foot thick bulkhead door that only has a handwheel on your side. If you taunt it, insult it, try to befriend it, or constantly fill your head with things that cause you fear, it's going grow up and eat the door. If you ignore it, it'll shrivel up and die. If you confront it by telling it you're not scared and it has no place there, it will die.
Think it's called Infrasound. Animals, at least some predators, put off frequencies that cause panic. Harder to be rational and fight when your body goes into freakout mode.

I live east of Atlanta, and you can’t find a house anywhere near 200 years old around here.
I stayed a week in a huge old house in Carlisle, Pennsylvania once, and it was awesome.
It had winding staircases, all kinds unique doors, cupboards, attic, rooms added at different times, high ceilings.
It had an ancient stone walled food cellar underneath that was so chilly.
A beautiful property on ten acres, pond, stone shed for gardening, all kinds of wildlife; groundhogs everywhere.
It was so fun to explore.
Sorry for writing a novel here, lol.

@2:40 "I felt like Indiana Jones or Lara Croft"... now I have the mental image of the main character climbing up filing cabinets and bookshelves, feet dangling off the side as they shimmy along on their finger tips, possibly cracking a whip to grab a file from the shelf across the aisle from them every so often.
There is a Japanese manga where the school has an "library exploration club". The skills required are trap disarmament, cartography, and base climbing....when they finally show the Library it is insane. Bookcases amid waterfalls and jungles, tombs and graveyards, and mazes of bookshelves stretching hundreds of feet into the air.
The ONLY notification I wake up for., the phone flash from the lighthouse!

I don’t usually stray from my usual like four creators of creepypasta type videos, as I’m not a fan of change and it feels uncomfortable for me. But I have really been loving your videos. I especially love that you don’t put a jumble of talking at the end (that throws me off and I listen to creepypastas to go to sleep!) I must say I think you’re becoming one of my comfort content creators now. I haven’t gotten a new one in probably about two years. Thank you for your constant uploads and consistency :)

Major suspension of disbelief. A 10,000 lumen flashlight can be picked up for under $30. A headlamp is even less. Motion activated lights are not much more. - Anyone, regardless of shift, would have to deal with the darkness as it seems like there are no windows. Despite the logical missteps, it was a pretty good story.

I was just thinking the primordial fear you feel when going up or down a dark set of stairs like a basement. You know something is behind you.
There is but you can only feel it, when you turn around there is nothing to see😧 take a rare steak with you and tame the monster 😉 because it is lonely.

I kept imagining the thing as an oversized version of my pet cat so I kept giggling at the idea of being scared of little Apricot.
So why not leave the damn lights on,.or use the flashlight on your phone? Nevermind on leaving the light on just got to the part about Dave wanting his shift lol.
I listened to this in the dark, and let me tell you. The suspense was sending chills down my spine. What a story/ narrator!

@@LighthouseHorror I especially like how you don't use distasteful sound effects. Many people use Creepy Pasta to fall asleep to. One thing that can kill the vibe is hearing unnecessary sound effects. Also I think my favorite video by you is the story about the haunted grocery store.
This story brought back memories of being afraid of the basement stairs in my childhood home. It was an enclosed staircase. The only light switch was located at the bottom of the stairs. I dreaded having to go into the basement at night. I thought something was going to grab me when I went to turn on the lights. I felt like I was being chased up the stairs when I turned off the lights. I fell more times than I care to remember trying to get up and down those stairs as quickly as I could.
I REALLY enjoyed this story, I’m terrified of stair cases even in the light, much less the dark. You couldn’t pay me enough to work somewhere like this..lol
