@@patt4343 100% but the point of buying one is that there isn't much that can go wrong. Outside of battery failure, it's just tires and check-ups (god willing).
I bought my MY21 at the end of June 2023. It's an HSE with panoramic roof and HUD, in Eiger Grey. 20" wheels and had done 26,000 miles. I love it and have done several long drives but all within range of my home charger. One day I will try DC charging. I did ask for a battery status report and they said they would do it but they didn't in the end! The Jaguar dealership that I bought it from is about 50 miles away so I couldn't be bothered chasing it up. When I bought it, Jaguar were pushing the i-Pace offer, so I got 2 years warranty and a free Pod point charger. Already the driver's door lock failed but it was replaced under warranty in just 2 days at my local dealership, less than 2 miles from home. In fact my local dealership have been very helpful considering I bought the car elsewhere.
I thought long and hard about buying an electric car and eventually I decided that any sort of EV that I would want to buy was way outside my price range. Then, about a month ago (later than your video, obviously) I saw an article about the 'collapsing' prices of EVs. So I had a look round for a used I-Pace. I found one locally, an HSE Black, Firenze Red, 14,000 odd miles, first registered late November 2022, so a 72 reg. The only extras on it were metallic paint, performance seats and light headlining. List price on purchase would have been £79,350! Asking price was - £41,000 - that's one hell of a drop in just under a year - so I bought it. Loving it!
Exactly why we're looking at them now. Hired one back in 2019 and was like this is easy to much money for this, I would never buy it. Now the price is reasonable in the second hand market
Yes it is. Had mine 3yrs bought it 2yrs old. Got the itch to change but nothing comes close in the used market arround 2yr old. Like many new cars which are not on UK roads yet but will wait for them to be a few years old. Polestar 3, Grecale, New Macan, Lotus Eletre or the saloon to come are my main considerations. It's a tough deal being stuck with such an amazing car which is undervalued by so many.
I fully agree with what you said and I’m in the process of buying a January 2019 HSE First Edition (meaning loaded with everything available) for a discount of 64% of the price when new or said differently 36% of the price when it was new. I saw another one ‘just’ HSE which came with a discount of 66.8% of 33,2% of the price when new despite being from August 2019 and with only 22’500 km (not miles) AND a full 1 year guaranty from a JLR dealership. UPDATE : the one with a even bigger discount disappeared, presumably sold, and I got an even better deal on my side : a further 1’000 reduction + 4 new wheels and winters tyres on top + 12 month guarantee. Now I signed the contract and paid.
@@yevhenfesiuk9868 I went ahead, very satisfied BUT prices have dropped a further 12-15% since October, so it is even more of a steal now and I already lost money (if I wanted to sell)
I agree that the 8 year battery warranty is good for peace of mind, and I would certainly recommend seeking out a car with a Jaguar warranty or Jaguar extended warranty. These cars can’t be fixed outside the Jaguar network if anything goes wrong and repairs can be quite pricey. A third party warranty might be difficult to successfully claim against.
All cars can be fixed outside dealers network. Finding someone who can do it is a different problem, but you're allowed to and it doesn't affect your warranty as the manufacturer needs to prove the fault was the cause of the service.
I love my Ipace it's fantastic, looks are second to none, it's practical n goes like stink. It's so comfortable, feels planted on the road and pretty cheap to run with a home charger a solar PV system with battery storage and octopus agile. Oh and it's made with 95% aluminium. what's not to like. I'm getting 260 miles on a full charge on the 18" wheels in winter (December 23). Try screwing the bonnet bump stops down to help make the seal. This worked on mine, my froot is nice and dry now. I have also have the leaking windscreen and my car is at Jaguar Landrover today to have it diagnosed. the manager of the branch is looking to give some good will as it is just out of manufacturers warranty. lets see what they come up with as i think this should be done FOC as it is clearly a manufacturers fault.
I have checked out bmw i4 and the ix1 and ix3. Also the Volvos no car comes near to the interior and looks of the jag. Still not made my mind up my next ev at the moments it’s between the ix3 and the jag used. Thanks for the advice 👍👍
My next door neighbour bought a 19 reg i-pace much less than a year ago for £29k. He said what a bargain it was. Not so much of a bargain now after depreciating about another £12k since he bought it. Just think about the cost per mile he is paying. The astronomical depreciation doesn't stop, just because you buy it.
They are a bargain up until they need to be repaired. Extended warranties are every expensive. Like $1600 a year, and unlikely to find one at that rate after 10 years. But ya, you can get an $86k car for $26k. Buy pray it doesn't break outside warranty
I really consodering a nice ev esspecialy this jaguar i pace. But the amount of issue i see is really hard to trust in the car. So sad. I have 2018 volvo v40 d3 and never had any issue with.
Certainly tempting looking at second hand market price now, driving a model 3 looking for second car and the iPace looks a great option. Ps like the LED lamp is this Philips hue? 😊

I’m not sure anyone can answer that about any car. However if you are worried then make sure you have at least 5 years left on the battery warranty and you could also get an extended warranty for repairs perhaps…
Nice one. Definitely a used car bargain and agree with the looks and driveability being top notch. Sad to hear your frunk leak is not fixed yet. When would it be done by as i see Jag dealers as frustratingly slow. Did the diagnosis and parts match mine?
I assume you mean the Pivi Pro? If so no they have not updated older models. Personally I have no complaints but probably because I use Apple Car play and rarely have to go into any functions.
@@electricfocus1710 Yes, pivi pro. It looks smashing on newer models. I ordered 2018 model and was wondering about this. It was said when 2018 released, that it was not very good.
Yes it’s great to have the 8 year or 100,000 mile warranty. However when it comes to battery degradation it would have to go below 70% SOC before the warranty kicks in. Therefore I would advise to get SOH checked out to ensure it has not lost more than expected as ultimately more degradation means lower range. Ask the Jaguar dealer to perform the test and provide a readout.
Been looking for an iPace since last year and right now in 2024 the HSE 2022 models are selling around £30K (which is my budget). But wondering why these EVs are losing so much of their value. If I buy one now and want to sell it in 3 years time will they be worth £15 by then?
Difficult to say what the future value will be but if new EV prices start falling this will inevitably have an impact on second hand values. 22% of new car sales in 2024 UK need to be electric or manufactures face huge penalties. If they struggle to meet this target we may see new car prices dropping.
Are you sure , or are you subjetive ? I am comsidering one of 2019 , 170 k kilometers , warranty ran out , since 170k kilometer is 106 k miles . Thats in N.L.
You take a risk with any car out of warranty with that mileage and JLR are not top of the charts for reliability so perhaps consider a lower mileage one.
It makes no difference in terms of battery range, charging and 0-60. It’s really about what you consider essential. I have the S because it was hard to justify the extra for the ‘packs’ that had some things I would have liked. However knowing what I know now I would choose air suspension, the upgraded seats (you got these with the SE originally) and adaptive cruise control but that’s about it. Also the bigger the wheels the more impact on range. 22s do look nice but 20s are good enough for me. Hope that helps!
@@electricfocus1710 ok , I’m upgrading from a Nissan Leaf Tekna so adaptive cruise , heated seats and wheel , full leather DAB , 360 cameras, blind spot detection , rear cross alert etc . I’m finding it difficult to upgrade without losing too much of the stuff I have become accustomed to 🤣
I have the S and its well specked. I have had my rear windows professionally tinted just for aesthetics and privacy. The ride on the 18" wheels and springs is far superior than on the air suspension and bigger wheels, I had a 22 plate HSE as a courtesy car for a full day when I had the battery software update recall carried out and the ride was noticeably different Not as smooth or refined as my car. not to mention the difference in range on the bigger wheels. Bigger wheels look better but are less practical IMO plus my wheels are pretty imposible to curb with the bigger tyre wall.
There is still no navigation through charging station and on longer trips you have to choose charging stops manually? Another question. With one pedal driving when car stops completely, it won't move itself when car in front start moving ?
I never rely on the car navigation as it’s never up to date with the latest chargers. I use Apple Car play and Google Maps and plan my route in advance. Re your second question, I’m assuming you mean if you are using adaptive cruise control? If so I’m not sure that it will follow the car in front once you come to a stop. However I didn’t take the option of adaptive cruise so not 100% sure.
