This is the best instructional video on TH-cam. You will understand if you have looked at Blum's instructions for glides or hinges. Blum should leverage this video.
Thanks. This is just the kind of ‘breakdown it for an idiot’ guide I was looking for. I feel like I can now tackle a small cabinet build myself that I’ve been mulling over.
You must have been a teacher in a former life. Well done. I have saved this to watch again once my online draw slides arrive in the mail. Blum should include a reference to this TH-cam for installation instructions.
Thank you for this video! After hours trying to decipher what Blum calls “instructions” I ran across your logical explanation of how to measure, cut and install these drawer glides.
Here it is November of 2024, this is the best instructional tutorial that I have seen! Thank you. Going to be using them on a bathroom vanity that I will be building. SCARED TO DEATH!!!
It is frustrating to buy an expensive piece of cabinet hardware and open it and find that it did not come with instructions on how to install it correctly. Thank you for producing and posting your instrucitonal video for Blum undermount drawer slides. I appreciate that you explained that the rear mount is an additional piece that I need to purchase to mount the slides as the person on another video uses, but he did not emphasise that they don't come with the slides. Also, I appreciate that you demonstrate and actually use the Rockler jigs. I saw them in the store, but the clerk helping me did not mention them. I'll be gong back to Rockler next week to buy them. Lastly, and you did explain this last, is how to install the Blum undermount drawer slides with a face frame (though I wish not that I didn't buld my cabinets with faces frames). Again, your video is most worhty of watching and praise for throoughness, so thank you.
I LOVE your videos!! You are such an AAMZING teacher and provide very detailed and thorough instructions!!! I learn so much from your videos! THANK YOU!!!!!
Bent, you’re one of the best instructors out there. I’ve watched many others on TH-cam and like many of them but your voice and pacing work real well for me, thanks.
Jason, great video. I am about to start a Kitchen Pantry cabinet with 5 big drawers. I've always used side mount slides but with this video I feel confident enough to go with undermount. I contacted Salice and Mason Cain went over and beyond helping me get to the part numbers I need. Thanks again and your videos are about the best instructional videos in YT.
To locate the position of the locating pins in the rear of the slide, just install the drawer and lightly slams it a few times and the pins will leave an interference mark. Then drill your hole. No need for an expensive jig.
They make a jig that can be used on all the drawers! I do custom cabinets that can have up to a hundred drawers, I don't have the time for that ridiculous way!
I can’t tell you how hard I’ve looked for a comprehensive way of installing these drawer slides over the past three weeks your timing couldn’t have been better thank you Jason
I go back to your video’s over and over just to review and pick up what I missed the last time. You talk about subjects I need to know about and you do it logically and slow enough that I understand your message. (Most of the time, my error not yours.). Unfortunately I can only like it once but I’ve watched then many times. Thanks for putting this content out here. I really appreciate it. And, Thanks for your Service.
Dude! Great video first off. I love the fact that you must have been hammered along the way with people hitting you with crazy questions and comments. I can tell you were trying to cut them off ahead of time. Hope it worked. Definitely didn’t try to read all the comments. Thanks again for a great, informative video!
I have to say, yours is the best one I have seen. Shaun Boyd and Jon Peters have pretty good videos too, but honestly I tip the reference video title to you. Thank you for making it.
Thanks for this. I'm finally foraying into some large kitchen drawer pullouts but wasn't sure which way to go. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with these!
First of all. How refreshing that you use the metric system. I know a lot of people in the trade that refuse to watch anyone that uses the imperial system 😂 You'd be surprised how much your following increases/decreases because of it. I also want to thank you for just being "NORMAL" and not trying to be funny or act like a dummy too. I'm not sure why these people need to be extra. Probably their wives tell them they are funny, when they are just painful to watch. Even some UK woodworkers are a nightmare, so not exclusive to Americans. Thank you! You are my go to, number one American woodwork genius ‼️☝️
Simplified and Brilliantly explained. As mentioned, best TH-cam video out there to demystify the installation process. Saving this into by favourites. Thank you
This is perfect. Thank you for the calm and easy explanation. In a few weeks I'm going to build myself a new at-home office desk, and these slides will help me to up my game a bit in the drawer department.
Great video - for the first 15 minutes of your video I was like "ohhh hell nooooo" - until you got to the box install and then it all "clicked" for me, ha get it? The adjustments are super helpful and you explained those really well. Thank you for your videos, you do a great job with your level of detail without laboring the points. Nice job. Cheers from Wisconsin.
I've used a variety of drawer slides with absolutely zero information and guessed or searched the process on how to do it. Your detailed explanations far exceed what the manufactures put out. I'm going to be switching over to this product now because of your masterful approach. Thank you.
This is an excellent explanation of how to assemble my drawers and most importantly how to install the Blum under undermount slides. Thank you so much!!!
Great video. Easy to follow and makes lots of sense. These Blum undermount soft close slides are so smooth and require very little opening force to overcome the soft close feature (damping force). It's what everyone is asking for these days. Thanks!
That was without a doubt the MOST DETAILED under mount Blum video,,,you really delivered on that !! The explanation on details was the best! Thank you sir.
Your series on cabinet building and the drawer slides helped me build my first cabinet. Thank you so much for providing these videos. I couldn't have done it without them.
Thank you so much for doing this video. I too was a little intimidated by these drawer slides but your video makes it look much easier than side mount, especially when it comes to actually installing the drawer. Matching up the slides on each side with side mounts is a real pain. This is definitely the best video I’ve found explaining this process. Thanks!!
Thanks for the very easy to follow demonstration! I'm getting ready to build and install drawers in a cabinet box, I only had to look at one video to learn how to install the Blum drawer slides. This video made me start following your channel.

From, “the only video you’ll need to see”, I’ve appreciated this video for reference on numerous occasions. Although I can’t keep up with all of the latest Festool tools and accessories featured in more recent videos, I still find the work assembling table and awesome features entertaining to watch. Jason, thanks for demystifying the installation of the Blum undermount drawer slides. I have been hesitant to try these because Blum's literature on installing them isn't all that clear, so I thought they'd be really difficult to install. Great video! Don't forget about the side-to-side adjustment wheel below the hook on the back of the right runner. This allows the rear of the drawer to be adjusted in the same direction as the front so the drawer runs parallel in the opening. Also, if you're having front locking device engagement issues (i.e. the drawer isn't "clicking in" like it should), check your material thickness. Most 1/2" plywood is actually 12mm and this causes your runner to "stretch" further than it was designed. The quick fix for this is to make your box 1/8" shorter than the standard runner length (20-7/8" for a 21" runner) or add an 1/8" spacer between your locking devices and drawer sub-front.
Fantastic video. Thanks for taking the time to create this. As a DIYer this sure saved my a lot of time and aggravation. A picture (video) is certainly worth more than a thousand words!

Thank you so much between your video and building a test drawer, I now understand this drawer glide system very well. Your video was amazing and a giant help!
