I don't get the "Google should be judged on their own phones." Surely all phones should be judged against each other, essentially. Like if the Google 9 Pro Fold is not as good as the One Plus Open, that should be considered.
Enjoying mine, such a step up from the OG fold. I don't game on my phone and charge overnight so those drawbacks don't bother me. The camera is good enough for what I need plus I have an iPhone 15 pro if I want to shoot video
I have this phone and the Z Fold 6. Max complaints are nonsense as clearly he doesnt have the phone. This phone feels amazing! The galaxy is crazy narrow. The cameras look amazing and pretty impressive. The iphone pro max is heavier than the Pixel Fold by almost 20 grams. I think people just come out of their mouth to hate without any real use. Ive had Galaxy devices for years and have NEVER used Dex. Oh and Pixel phones also have desktop mode. People really dont know what theyre talking about. I will be getting rid of my Galaxy Z Fold cause its just not better than the Pixel.
I cannot explain to a galaxy fold owner how much I enjoy using the pixel 9 pro fold that much more than my galaxy fold 5 . I still have my iPhone 15 pro max 😊
Bro everything he said is super valid if you're a fan boy that's fine but you don't need to make everyone agree that using this horrible camera at night is fine. Or that slow chip is fine it's up especially at this price point coming from someone with the OG pixel which has the same exact cameras based on reviews
The only thing that confuses me about your video is that you said you need to see more from samsung in regards to software. Samsung's software goes far deeper than google's lol. Google has the smoothness and ai stuff, but pixel OS is mostly limited and overly simple. Honestly, even the ai stuff isn't that crazy because Samsung offers a lot in that area, too, and I personally think these ai features that these companies are pushing aren't that useful anyway. How can Google put out 2 folding phones now and still not develop floating windows for their software? You would think the tablet and big foldable screens are enough to motivate them to develop multitasking more.
For the most part this phone is good - but I'm tempted to return it for a few reasons. How stupid is it for google to move the qam wireless charging coils lower on the phone so almost every stand wireless charger no longer works? This is insane and ridiculous. I hate the huge extra space near the hinge and the screen on the front as well.
Just upgraded from the Fold 1 to 9 Pro Fold. No, the camera isn't the best you can get but it's still absolutely incredible, if you know what you're doing of course. I was very undecided at first on the longer closed size (Vs fold 1) but that small tablet experience when opened on the 9 pro fold is just something else. So happy with mine
Great video as always. I was sooooo close to ordering this phone. And then at the last minute I ordered the V3 instead. Hoping I don’t regret my decision.
I've just got this phone, first foldable and i absultely love it. Its just beutiful. And with i being Google, it gets all the security updates aswell aswell major Android updates. Absulute no brainer. I have it with the Spigen Armor case and a front screen protector and it feels rock solid.
I ordered a Pixel 9 pro fold 512gb, its in route. I've used a Samsung fold 4 for 2yrs and absolutely loved it, with the caveat of that ridiculously unusable front screen (aside from phone calls only). I am gonna REALLY miss Samsung's good lock software with one ui and all the tweaking I could do everywhere. Also, I'm a big multitasker... The main reason I got a fold in the 1st place, and I'll also miss 3 apps at once, plus a popup. I used 2 and a popup often. Hopefully, Google improves multitasking in a pixel drop down the line. Looking forward to using a pixel for the 1st time though.
As someone who has also had high hopes for the Z fold 6, I was disappointed by the design choice. However, when this phone popped on the scene, I was unexpectedly surprised by the upgraded design. I love foldable smartphones. This was the review I needed on whether I want this phone or not. Thanks.
For what its worth with the Tensor chip; All current tensor chips (from G1 through to G4 now) have actually been based on some Samsung Exynos technology with additional blocks for google's custom image processing etc. The G4 was supposed to land google's new generation of fully custom chips manufactured by TSMC but it didn't land in time so they delayed the fully custom silicon to next years G5. I currently have a ZF4 and will almost certainly be upgrading to a P9PF this year (and hopefully swapping to the P10 Fold next year).
There are still features available in Samsung UI that Google Pixel is missing. The ones missing for example on the Pixel fold is the "modes and routines" which I use every day and it helps me to save battery. The other is the dynamic wallpapers for the lock screen. There are more features missing, but I don't understand why Google doesn't add these in the stock Android. I do like the form factor on the new Pixel Fold. When I hold it in my hand the corner of the phone doesn't poke into palm of my hand like the ZFold 6 does. Not a big deal, but it starts to hurt if you hold it more than a minute.
Ugh, I've been using the pixel 9 fold pro Xtra supreme and I love it. I didn't think it would hold a candle to my zfold 6. And while I do like the slim one hand ability of the Samsung, I think I like the bigger front screen of the 9 supreme extra deluxe fold pro even more 🤦🏽♂️. Along with fewer bugs (which is something I thought I would ever say about a pixel phone) and less bloat, it's a win.
Why should google only be judged for their own phones? Do other phone manufacturers not exist? Do they not do things better at the same price? Is this not a competitive space? People bashed Oneplus for not having wireless charging. Its more than fair to bring up processor, charging speed, and battery size
Yes I agree it should be compared to other phones other than the pixel fold 1 that was a failure hes totally wrong about that its totally all about comparing it to other phones so we can decide what ones we want
@@jasonelliot9633 rubbish. They didn’t have access to the screens for a start. Copied OnePlus? Like one plus copied most other companies through their owner OPPO? The one plus open is actually a direct copy from them
Great review ✨ Thank you Average Dad...The pure vanilla android experience is the best operating system on the planet - as you say. And it's not about bench marks or an extra megapixel on the camera. It's about the experience - the feeling. The usability......
You're saying that people just bash Google for no reason ? Actually that's not even the case. There's a reason : they are Samsung fanboy. Somehow Samsung fans became over the years the most obnoxious fans I've ever seen on tech products. Never in my life have I thought that I'd witness worst fanboys than Apple ones, but here we are. Samsung fans are unsufferable. And I say it while using Samsung products.
Samsung fans just prefer bloatware over Google's spyware. And Apple fans enjoy their dull phone experience. At the end of the day, it's the same shit, different smell. People just trying to justify their choice.
Samsung fans are also the most "guarded", being lost in Samsung's "ecosystem", so they would have the most cognitive dissonance & resistance. I owned but not a Samsung User. I broke free from both with the OnePlus Open, but still use Google. A "necessary evil".
@@GlennLopez I'll be honest I don't understand this answer. Android is Google anyway, you can't get away from the spying. Samsung of Pixel is not a matter of Spy vs Bloat. It's just marginal difference and flavors. And that's fine. But grown people getting on the internet to defend brands for free is beyond me. I use everything : if the product is good, it's good. I have a S24 ultra slab phone, my next foldable might be this P9PF, I have an iPad and use a windows laptop. Fanboyism is toxic
In my opinion, this second pixel fold is not a failure at all,and that comes from an actual pixel fold hater.I hated the guts out of the first one, because it was just a garbage phone, but, compared to that one, this one is a masterpiece.I actually love this phone a lot despite the bad chip and cameras and if the fold6 wouldn't have existed,i would have picked this pixel fold, but, since i can't do that, this second pixel fold may as well become my favourite foldable phone this year, along with the honor magic v3
Thank you for the overview, very excited about my delievery on Monday of the GPPF9 now, think I can live with the bad points as it will not impact my day to day use. I was panicking whether to get the Pro 9 XL instead. HOWEVER I am a fold guy and the fold use case suits my life style. LOVE the Honor V3, certainly has the best hardware but think Google software is the one this year and syncs with my other products sithin the Samsung Ecosystem. Replacing my Fold5 for this, the big selling point being the wider front screen. Look forward to the full review. Cheers AD!
As someone who just moved from a Fold 5 to the P9PF, I think the ideal experience is somewhere between Pixel OS and One UI. Pixel OS lacks a few super convenient customisation options that Samsung offer and is a bit too "Apple" like, you can see the direction Google are going with it to be more like iOS. You can't customise power button actions or notification pulldown options (I would love a brightness slider on that first single finger pull), far too limited lock screen customisation, the Pixel Launcher is too limiting (can't even edit how many rows/columns or icon size, wasted space at the top with the "At a Glance" feature) yet many third party launchers still suck on foldables leaving you in a difficult place with no really great solution. On Pixel OS there's also a lack of simple settings such as hiding the keyboard arrow, a feature that many other Android devices give you. But One UI on the other hand has TOO much going on and is a bit too customisable to the point of getting cluttered and confusing. Theming and Good Lock come to mind as great to have, but can be overkill. One UI tends to just feel "bloated" in comparison to Pixel OS. But with that bloat comes far greater flexibility. Ideally Google would allow a bit more customisation and some more feature parity to Samsung and that would make the Pixel OS just about perfect
Circumstances forced me to go from Pixel Fold to 9 Pro Fold. In just 2 days, I have got to say it was a good move for them to "skip" half a generation and get this much improved (though some will miss the smaller form factor). But there are a few areas I hope they improve on: - move the wireless coil to where it is on every other phone (it is ridiculous I have 3 stand/cradle changers, and none of them work without putting a Lego underneath) - get the bezels smaller; even on the outside display side by side with the Pixel 7, the bezels look massive on the new fold. I'm less bothered by the inner; I think it's actually good to have somewhere to hold it by - Make the inner selfie camera smaller, under the display or just get rid of it. So many apps still don't handle it well, and you end up losing a lot of screen real estate to an empty "title bar." I know some people have a type of photosensitivity to it, so just make it an option to black out these pixels in software, but for the 90% of us, let me use the whole screen area. Also, the price, £1750 for 256GB or £1870 for 512GB, is ridiculous, and no one should pay that. I didn't: - £200 bonus trade-in on an old Samsung S22U, for a total of £440 = £1430 - £120 off the extra storage = £1310 - 10% (£175) store credit for being a Google One member = £1135 That's not too bad already. If you consider I also got £200 off the Watch 3 + 10% (£30) in credit for the watch + a bonus £50 credit everyone is getting that is just over £1350 for £2368 worth of kit
So far for me I am loving the much better screens of this phone, I am on day one and a little worried on battery compared to the first and it sucks that the pixel charging stand doesn't work natively
I was sad to see them change the size. I loved the smaller form factor. But I will be trading it for the 9pro as the camera and battery will always will be an issue when being slim is the priority.
My one and ONLY gripe with any foldable device is that apps are not fully optimized to take advantage of the full, inside screen. If they were I’d direct deposit my check towards them 😂
Apologies to all, as the 9Pro Fold is a good phone. I came from the original Pixel Fold and I wrote the term "Failure" out of context. I should have clarified that my view came from the "perspective" that Google had not surpassed the OnePlus Open. This is the "failure" I meant to state, as OnePlus are the only other competition in US, so should be mentioned. I do believe the 9ProFold is an upgrade over the zfold6, but they both failed to surpass the one year old OnePlus Open. That's what adds to the perception of "failure". I feel like everyone has amnesia, because no one mentions the OnePlus Open, in comparison to these two.
Another unmentionable sin of Google, is the lockdown of two widgets on main screen: 1-search bar widget (on bottom) 2-"At a Glance" widget (on top) This, plus the miserable limitation of only "Two app" multitasking, on such a large screen. A large screen without stylus support. These things add up, when I switched to a superior phone, the "year old" OnePlus Open. These as some of the underlying reasons that made me rant initially.
Once again the facts that you have highlighted are the truth... The minus points are too much to outweigh the plus points... Price alone rules out Google, Samsung and other mainstream sellers..
What a refreshing review. I got my fold 9 yesterday and am so pleased with it. You hit the nail. Gamers shouldn't buy this. Non gamers all want the fastest phones for what? Looking at whatsapp, taking photos and looking at social media that's not what the chip is for. I realised this and switched from Samsung to the fold I don't think I'll go back. Camera on the fold is great! Better than my ultra 22.
Here is the biggest problem when it comes to the majority of people in society focusing on the US market where I live and is my country of birth. The biggest problem is that the majority of the people in society spend their time spitting as stupidities about the major three foldables that are offered in the United States which is the OnePlus open from OnePlus the Galaxy z fold 6 from Samsung and the Google pixel 9. Pro fold from Google which I will focus my testimony on real world usage on the z fold. 6 and Google's new foldable as I owned both of them starting with the z fold. 6. I have used it since the device launched even though it has the same design language from last year. Apart from subtle differences, the biggest one is the sharp corners that mimic the s24 ultra. I've had a lot of fun with that phone. The multitasking is surprisingly spot on perfect and the software is never going to be matched by any foldable in the Chinese market or Google. You are getting a super buttery, smooth, refined experience. Applications behave extremely well with their foldable display due to the relationship Samsung has with app developers and the fact that you got the ability to use the s pen to do many things with it while you're multitasking or having floating windows on top of the three Windows you already have open is a big plus but the drawbacks of Samsung is their hardware. They have milk the design since the z fold. 3 for this year sales charts don't lie if you look up 9to5google's Post on his page in the internet. Samsung only managed to sell 270,000 units of the z fold 6. And flip 6. Compared to last year's z fold 5 and flip 5 that sold 300,000 units that's a 30,000 unit difference that should be an alarming wake up call for Samsung because even though their software is the most polished and refined. Their hardware has become complacent and they're starting to give samsung users like myself who have been loyal to them the Apple treatment. But when I walked into my local Best buy to pick up Google's second gen charging stand for pixel phones that I got my mother. I got to play with the pixel 9 pro fold and put it side by side with my z fold 6. And I realized how perfect that cover display is compared to the z fold 6 which is what drove me to purchase the pixel 9 pro fold I understand Google still has a long way to go to give a more refined and polished software on their foldables as this is their second attempt. But what I like is what they did. They took the feedback of every person who bought their passport style. Foldable put it together. Studied the feedback and made a major leave in their second attempt by redesigning their foldable from scratch and not going from there. First attempt and working off that design and one of my favorite things that I enjoy from the pixel 9 pro fold is the fact that you get the same display of the pixel 9 as a cover display. I've used both devices at the same time and the z fold 6. Just makes me understand why I miss the cover display of my pixel 9 pro fold because you're getting an acceptable cover display to consume content and this is in my real world experience in places like my job as I work in a hardware store or you can't open the inner display, but it's acceptable because you're getting a normal phone, not the XL variant but they're normal pixel 9 as a cover display. Yet you know you have the 8-in display to use it like when you're home and just relaxing on the couch and I'll say it how it is whether people agree or not with my comment it is the truth. Samsung obliterates the pixel 9 pro fold when it comes to software capabilities and the internal chipset and the fact that you can have more than one window opened up to 3 on the screen and the rest of them as floating windows on the same screen above the three that are opened and Google only allows you to have two. But we got to keep in mind that Google is still brand new to the foldable market and this is their second generation foldable which took major and aggressive hardware changes and that's considered a big leap so far. My Galaxy Z4 6 has gone in my mother's drawer where she keeps her clothing as I ask her to let me put it there and I have been using my obsidian pixel 9 pro fold which this is my real world testimony has made me or love foldables again and made me see why foldables are fun and to be honest here in the the American market OnePlus open and Google's pixel 9 pro fold are obliterating Samsung in the hardware space now. If you want the best of both worlds then OnePlus would be the obvious choice because the aging grandfather has age so perfect like fine wine that their software capabilities are amazing with their hardware which makes it the better choice over samsung who have been milking the same design and are giving long time. Samsung users like myself, the Apple treatment
I love it so clean the one thing I am disappointed by the one and only thing is I loved the pixel fold 1 form factor passport. Now any foldable you buy will be basically the same no fun in that ,be different Google
My major disappointment with this phone is the lack of non-ai related software features. Plenty of AI stuff but I can only see 2 new features /customization options on this device.
A lot of time people who hate a phone is because they are other brand lovers, for example that person that said the pixel fold is a failure well that person may be a Samsung lover, please let's not talk bad about a phone because you love another phone brand, I respect people who love Samsung, me I don't like Samsung at all, I won't buy one but I don't talk bad about Samsung, it's just my opinion that I don't like it but they are not bad phone but I don't trash them so let's just respect what we other people like, I got a pixel fold and I love it so much, I have been an Apple fan for awhile but pixel fold is changing that as I also got the Motorola razr 2024, no phone is perfect, blessings.
You can't call this video "The Good, The Bad and the ugly" because there is nothing ugly about that beast.. maybe the camera bump but it is a necessary evil and probably something you get used to after a while.
"google should be judged on their own phones" .. no absolutely terrible take. Yes, they have improved MASSIVELY since the original fold, however, competition is a great thing and the only winners are the consumers. It is vital to compare phones to one another (in the same line and price) in order for them to keep improving. Think about it like this, if a company releases a new product that is slightly better than their last but massively lacking compared to their competition, it doesn't mean they've succeeded at all. While I disagree with you on this argument, I do agree the new pixel fold isn't all that bad, but they had a LOT of catching up to do from their first iteration and it seems they still have a bit of ways to go. I reckon the next pixel fold will be the real one to look out for.
Ive moved back to the Google ecosystem from Honor Magic V2 - just for the seamless experience. Magic OS is way too clunky for me, from tardy or non existent notifications - banks for example - the honor software times out before they arrive, and interface to my Garmin - awful . Don't ask much - other than it just works and Magic OS just doesn't wash for me. As much as I admire the V2 and would no doubt love the V3 hardware , that OS is the killer
I got it and it's heavy even before putting on a case. The phone itself is really slippery for me and even folded it's a bit too wide in my hand. The pixel 8 size for me was perfect width. The battery life seems pretty good and the chip is plenty fast but I still am failing to figure out how I really benefit from AI enhancement. To be honest I feel like I'm being forced to adopt to something I rarely will use. Kind of like new car entertainment center s. Give me buttons, navigation map and way to connect my smartphone. It's all I need.
I've had the 9 pro fold for a day now.. I love it. I'm not a gamer tho & I charge all my phones overnight. So those things don't affect me. I had the 1st pixel fold. This new pixel fold is amazing. & It's 512 gigs.
I want to congrats vivo CEO for the great achievement of the vivo fold 3 pro I am asking for one thing Be available in the international market Middle east India Europe Be brave Ambitious And work more on software
I disagree I compare failure and success with all brands and companies because my dollar can be spent anywhere so I am not just comparing Google's failures based on their previous phone I'm comparing it to all the companies and brands that I can spend my own money on. I am a pixel 9 pro fold owner myself I can say the phone is a great phone but foldables in general have a long way to go
Average Dad fans, we are back in the presence of his “immaculance”. The most powerful tech TH-camr on planet Earth. We are graced by his wondrous reviews. Bow at the presence of his omnipotence.
i agree some chinese phones are higher spec...but the software is shit compared to Google and Samusng and for me the biggest point is warranty and repairability as these DO go wrong from time to time. I wouldnt touch a chinese phone with a bargepoll
And gaming on any of these phone get a red magic or Asus phone or get both of them for this price, gaming on a tablet or phone is a joke, just buy a switch or steam deck
Ok, I haven't watched the full video yet, but already I have taken issue with what you've said. Phones should NOT be judged based on their own phones. That's the dumbest way to look at tech, and it does the exact opposite of inciting competition. Obviously every phone released generationally will be better than the last (even marginally), otherwise who would buy it? Phones need to be compared to their competition. Therefore, the Pixel needs to be compared to the Vivos, Honors, and Samsungs of the world. Not the previous generation fold. One other note: You shouldn't say that the cameras aren't good even though the final result is good, but the hardware isn't. Feel free to mention that the hardware is lacking compared to the Chinese foldables, of course. I love hearing that. But don't claim that the photos aren't good even after literally saying they're good due to software. Software-excellent photos is Google's strength, so you're basically calling every pixel in existence bad just because it doesn't have Flagship-level camera hardware. Mention the inferior sensor size and quality, but don't make that the judge of whether or not the camera is good. Make the photo the result be the judge of that. Also, while I do like the Pixel Fold, at least based on what I've seen of it, the sheer size of those bezels are enough for me to give it a pass this year. It looks like an iPad from 2010. Its actually ridiculous. Yes, I'm sure the software experience is great and very typical Pixel, but until they shrink the bezels and hole punch camera size (and move it closer to the edge of the screen, what are they even doing at this point), and increase the battery size and overall performance (bigger sensors, better zoom, faster + more efficient CPU + GPU, etc) I just can't see myself getting it, even over something like the Fold 6. If only the Honor was released in the US - my next phone would be an absolute no brainer. P.S. If anyone has any insight into possible repairability options in the US for Chinese phones like the Magic v3, please let me know. I want to get that phone but I can't justify it due to the lack of repair options if something goes wrong. And I'm too broke for phone insurance.
Re Max's comments... Bollocks that it's a failure... Its a superb device and a step up from the original Pixel Fold... That was a fantastic device in itself and the form factor was superb also. Better than the Z folds, IMO, due to not being stupidly narrow (no good if you've shovel hands like me)! I've had my Pixel 9 Pro Fold since 4th and I've gelled with it immediately. I've come from a 15PM and AWU2 via an S24U and Galaxy Watch Ultra, and now settled on my 9 Pro Fold paired with my Galaxy Watch Ultra (they work seamlessly)... The Google software is superb. I'm not a power user and probably 95% of users aren't power users, so it'll suit more or less everyone that wants a foldable. I've been test driving the cameras too and the end results have been brilliant. Macro mode is superb, evemery day point n shoot results are excellent and zoom is very good also. The software is excellent. The screens are fantastic. Inner screen is amazing, bright and feels pinpoint accurate. Yes the front screen has the bezel, but you don't notice it when you're using it because the front screen is that good. And the crease just isn't there, more so compared to the original Pixel Fold and even the Z Folds IMO So all in, from an every day user and gadget nut, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is hell of a device and folk are writing them off simply because they can... Don't forget here in the UK and probably EU, the likes of the Honor and Oneplus devices simply don't get the support that you'd get from Google, so they're a risky device to purchase, IMO Here endeth thy rant 😂
For a medium-level gamer I think the phone does okay. For hardcore pubg or cod you definitely skip frames in high gfx settings. Unfortunately I'm what you'd call "hardcore" so I'm a little upset with the underpowered sensor.
@@mrkring1526 tried it. Am trying it right now in call of duty. Doesn't let you max out the graphics, just up to very high but yeah you see it being jerky compared to the zfold 6. Clear as day.
I'm enjoying mine, I have less negatives than positives to say about it. I do wish the cameras were better but I say that about my fold 6 as well lol. Not being able to have different home screens on the inner and outer screens drives me crazy but I'm exploring different launchers to try and work around that. Mike is the outer screen on the V3 or x fold 3 pro much bigger than the pixel or pretty close? On paper is one thing but in hand is another lol
When it's Samsung, you're all about comparing it with honor this, vivo that, but with Google, Oh look they improved from the crap last year, let's not look at the competition! Just look at last year! 🤡😊
I don't get the "Google should be judged on their own phones." Surely all phones should be judged against each other, essentially. Like if the Google 9 Pro Fold is not as good as the One Plus Open, that should be considered.
They scared to talk about Google Pixels now.
Yep a lot of hate surround this phone
You should try Vivo x foly3 pro lol

Fair assessment. I love the P9PF so far but I can't argue with any of this - especially the charging.

Go with the pixel
Compare them on TH-cam and go with your heart my friend.
What's annoying me is the camera when using now you see me mode, it uses the selfie camera
Great video as always. I was sooooo close to ordering this phone. And then at the last minute I ordered the V3 instead. Hoping I don’t regret my decision.
The v3 looks so much better, tried the pixel fold in store today.. The outside bezel, especially the hinge bezel on left side is so big, annoying.
Glad I didn't have the option to order the V3 😂 I didn't have to feel torn about my P9PF

If you're thinking about buying a foldable, I would suggest waiting for the One plus open 2... Rumored to be realised in early November.
Dang that's around the corner especially when they just released the Apex edition not too long ago.
The one plus open 2 will be q1 2025, no rumours for November
lol!! you need to get new sources!! mid next year for that
Ugh, I've been using the pixel 9 fold pro Xtra supreme and I love it.

Well said and I couldn't agree with what you have said any clearer.
@@GlennLopezwhen you delete the Google spyware. that simple😅
I believe Vivo x fold 3 pro is the fold of the year already..

Agreed. It's a beast.
But there are a few areas I hope they improve on:
- move the wireless coil to where it is on every other phone (it is ridiculous I have 3 stand/cradle changers, and none of them work without putting a Lego underneath)
- get the bezels smaller; even on the outside display side by side with the Pixel 7, the bezels look massive on the new fold. I'm less bothered by the inner; I think it's actually good to have somewhere to hold it by
- Make the inner selfie camera smaller, under the display or just get rid of it.
I didn't:
- £200 bonus trade-in on an old Samsung S22U, for a total of £440 = £1430
- £120 off the extra storage = £1310
- 10% (£175) store credit for being a Google One member = £1135
That's not too bad already. If you consider I also got £200 off the Watch 3 + 10% (£30) in credit for the watch + a bonus £50 credit everyone is getting that is just over £1350 for £2368 worth of kit
Couple of points. It doesnt have to in line with the fold 6 and doesn't have to be cr@p. The chip and the price is the biggest drawback. Good video.
Who is the “Max” he’s referring to?
Thanks for vid AD
No problem 👍
I don't get the camera comparisons on phones it is all software when it comes to phone cameras, just look at a real full frame or APC camera lens
Thanks for the reviews. Do you know if the fold supports the the desktop mode which is supported by 9 Pro
If they were I’d direct deposit my check towards them 😂
How do you add the time widget you have on your phone
Very fair as always. I can live with the weak points and enjoy the strong ones 🙂
Always!
I also love Pixel UI. I do wish there were a bit more customization. But I do think it's probably the best.
Totally agree!
Thanks for the honest review! The accent made it even better!
I appreciate that!
For me the best friend foldable right now is the Vivo.
How about the speakers?
They are okay, id say fold 6 is slightly better there
Apologies to all, as the 9Pro Fold is a good phone.
Another unmentionable sin of Google, is the lockdown of two widgets on main screen:
1-search bar widget (on bottom)
2-"At a Glance" widget (on top)
This, plus the miserable limitation of only "Two app" multitasking, on such a large screen.
A large screen without stylus support.
These things add up, when I switched to a superior phone, the "year old" OnePlus Open.
These as some of the underlying reasons that made me rant initially.
Price aside.. Pixel 9 pro XL or 9 Pro Fold. Which one would you choose?
The important thing is the result, not the pure specs.
Which one better
Google
Honor v3
Samsung z 6?
Awesome perspective
I'm back looking at your phone cos 02 Still hasn't delivered mine !
Og Pfold was also ipx8 rated.

So far I'm loving the phone. But it's also my first foldable. So maybe your first skews your opinion about all others you see or use
7 years of update WWOooooow I doubt it last that long. I ve read people say their previous pixel fold screen broke within a couple of months
I traded in my fold 5 and waiting for pixel 9 pro fold delivery.
I've had the 9 pro fold for a day now.. I love it. I'm not a gamer tho & I charge all my phones overnight. So those things don't affect me. I had the 1st pixel fold. This new pixel fold is amazing. & It's 512 gigs.
battery and charging speed are dealbreakers. Vivo xfold 3 pro and honor magic v3 crush this, not even close.

And the crease just isn't there, more so compared to the original Pixel Fold and even the Z Folds IMO
So all in, from an every day user and gadget nut, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is hell of a device and folk are writing them off simply because they can...
Don't forget here in the UK and probably EU, the likes of the Honor and Oneplus devices simply don't get the support that you'd get from Google, so they're a risky device to purchase, IMO
Here endeth thy rant 😂
agree fully
For a medium-level gamer I think the phone does okay. For hardcore pubg or cod you definitely skip frames in high gfx settings. Unfortunately I'm what you'd call "hardcore" so I'm a little upset with the underpowered sensor.
Have you actually tried the Tensor G4 and seen skipped frames or just guessing?
@@mrkring1526 tried it. Am trying it right now in call of duty. Doesn't let you max out the graphics, just up to very high but yeah you see it being jerky compared to the zfold 6. Clear as day.
Rubbing phone full stop
In about one year nobody would want a foldable if it isn't a tri fold 😂
So don't put your honest earned money on this. It's just last gen.
I don't see that happening but also didn't think foldables would be where they are today either 🤷
