@@EthanCarey-l4chi, I've had the V3 for a couple of months now and I do love it. Main thing is the battery, it lasts a very comfortable full day of my use. Before on my zfold4 I'd be getting the charger out mid afternoon, now I'm typing at midnight and I still have 57%. Granted today was a light day, but I have a lot of buffer. Re the hinge, I'm totally fine with it. It feels soft and damped whereas Samsung was crunchy, however yes the hinge will flop open more readily than Samsung, but for me it isn't a major issue.
I must say that even though you sell the Honor in your online store, you are completely honest and impartial when giving us your opinion. 👍 For that reason alone, you get a subscribe from me.
I kinda prefer the pixel but I 'll consider honor. But Here are my genuine thoughts on folds ranking 1. Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Global 2. Honor magic V3 Global 3. OP Open 4. Z fold 6 5. Pixel 9 Pro fold
Sorry the bezels look ugly AF on the Google and having heard both speakers, the honor has way more bass than the Google. I can't speak for the headphones settings as I haven't used them yet. I don't get why anyone would want the inner screen open 5mm anyway. That satisfying noise when the honor closes makes me smile every time. The hardware in the honor is tops. Never using the software on any Chinese phone before now, I can say it's fast as hell really easy to set up with cool animations, fonts, themes makes it look really polished. Games run smoothly and I've had no issues playing them. Both of the screens are gorgeous even in the sun. The cameras do a great job all round I could see every hair on my dog from 5FT away lol. The honor wins hands down on the stylish factor. As I said and have to repeat that Google all wrong. Plastic on plastic and then they made that plastic into a weird frame on the inner screen. I'm sure it's optimised to every Google app going but I have to say I've had no problems with any apps I've used on the honor so far. I do get the option to have Gemini but if/when that subscription kicks in next year I doubt anyone will care about that. Yes the honor is an absolute marvel with the thinness. But I never opted for it because of that alone. I've watched and watched all the reviews you have put out about not just the honor but every foldable and plenty of others too. I think I've done more reading in the last two months than I have in my whole life 😅. The honor v3 just makes sense in every way for everyday people. Maybe not the techies out there but it definitely does for me. Looks do matter and in my opinion the Google fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.🫤 I suppose as foldables evolve they will get better and better with every release. But this year, for me honor takes the gold.🎉
Great hardware review the front screen of the honor is 5000 nits so much brighter and tbh you would more often use the front screen in daylight outside then the inside screen. We already know the winner for multi-tasking seeing as the pixel has a nice big screen that you can only have two apps open on it with no floating windows! I can have more then that on my dated Samsung candybar.
So torn.. currently on a z fold 4 and dont know which one to upgrade to 🙈 initially was all over the magic v3 but have grown to really like the pixel.. decisions decisions!!
If you're making an argument about the hinges, please consider that that space is then gained when open. Otherwise you end up with the embarrassment that is the Galaxy Fold 6. Unusable closed and too narrow for great split screen when open.
I'm in the USA.. Currently on straighttalk which uses Verizon network but I'm willing to switch to another carrier.. Which foldable phone would you recommend? I play games, take pics, watch videos and just normal phone use, I definitely don't want Samsung... Thank you!
I need a foldable phone with an "S" type pen for work, and I would consider this essential hardware. Could you please go over which foldable phones have functioning pens. Until I find this, I will not be buying a foldable. I bought the Galaxy Z Fold 5 last year and returned it within two weeks because the outer screen was way too narrow, the lower right back part of the phone overheated in my hand, and the inner screen was too "sticky" and unresponsive, despite my taking it to a Verizon store where they changed some of the settings. It took Samsun eight weeks to refund my money. Not doing that again!
@@bfdia51I saw one reviewer using his fingernail bay accident. When i get mine I'm going to try with my fold 5 stylus just for fun. I know it won't do everything but if it works. For circling things and i have one free then bonus.
My only question is will they show support for the honor since its a global version compared to the pixel when we know that google will support its device for a while especially at what you paying for.
@@AverageDadOfficialI have never had a phone for 4 years. Anyone buying this state of the art tech. Also are not keeping it that long. I ❤laugh at the people that say I'm buying Samsung F6 over HV3 because of 7 years vs 4 years of support.
@@EthanCarey-l4c have you not seen all of the bad screen posts on Reddit for the new pixel fold? Definitely wouldn’t say durability is given to google (maybe Samsung), but too early to tell with the new p9pf
@@DillonBlair probably. But you can find a ton for the OnePlus which is definitely as refined as any Chinese foldable on the market. you're not comparing apples to apples. If you're going off the number of anecdotal accounts on English speaking reddit, of course you'll find more stories from the brands that have sold better over here. The fold 6 is probably the safest bet by a not insignificant margin. They don't care if the inner protector is still installed when you trade in either so if it starts to lift and you're afraid that could cause failure, you can remove and continue to use without issue. As a yearly upgrader, that's a nice feeling (but I could just as easily lean on their one free replacement or much more easily accessible support, whether headache inducing or not, at least it's still there)
@@EthanCarey-l4c All very good points. I just can’t reward them with my money when they won’t give me the product I want (Samsung). If the Chinese options weren’t available I’d likely get the P9PF for the form factor.

@k88kee @averagedad please include info if each manufacturer ever offers trade-in deals. I need easy exit from my Samsung Fold 4 to jump into one of these. Samsung is offering $1000 trade-in but I don't want the Fold 6. Hopefully One Plus offers trade-ins for their upcoming Open 2 in the United States in Q12025
@Marky_Markster i dont know about the US as i am in the UK and Samsung trade in for my fold 4 is really low, about half of what you're getting. Honor not giving a great trade in neither but neither were Google, so I'll just sell it via ebay.

The lack of stylus on the pixel fold is such a shame Using One note in the work place as a note taking secondary device when on teams calls.. This is what the duo 2 did so well and nothing so far since has come close.. Maybe the Magic V3 is the one to replace this use case
I am very surprised as I know you love foldable devices but I did not think you would choose a Google over a Chinese foldable. I must admit though I held the Pixe ll Fold 2 and I felt it was better than the Samsung Z Fold 6. This is the size the Z Fold 6 should have been then I think it would be a no brainer for me.
I recently got Samsung Fold 5, and it's my first foldable. it seemed like the only "good" option available at the time. But to my surprise, I later discovered there are actually plenty of other great foldables out there. I've never tried devices from Vivo, Xiaomi, or Honor, but after seeing their foldables, I realized just how much my Fold 5 and Samsung in general are lacking. There's no in-display fingerprint reader, the aspect ratio is awkward, it's bulky, lacks flagship-level cameras, has only 25-watt charging, and is way overpriced for what you get. On top of that, there’s no screen protector, charger, or case included in the box. I feel more cheated than excited about owning my first foldable. That said, I don’t have access to global versions of these other foldable brands. Is it a big issue if I opt for a China ROM version as regular joe? How does it affect day-to-day usage?
I agree with you. I have had three folds. My current phone (until my honor v3 arrives) what I didn't know i needed was FASTER charging. With my open and honor will be the same. 67w i can throw my phone on the charger about any point in the day and in a few minutes its up to 80% same thing with fold five but make that a few hours. Now i might be exaggerating but the difference is 100% noticable in real world use. The other is the form factor. I love the wider outer screen. With Fold 5 i was like 10% closed 90% open. Now I'm like 75 % closed 25% open. What sold me on the honor was the form factor. Lighter and thinner than one plus open. I would recommend one plus open to anyone in the us afraid of buying from third party in the US. I bought directly from them. If it weren't for this channel and the just down to earth nature of the owner I would not have gotten the Honor. So cheers to that.
@@pospower Thanks for your input! Yes I do miss that sweet 65W fast charging. I had a OnePlus 9 Pro before this, and it really spoiled me with that feature. As for the form factor, I feel the same way. I initially thought I’d be using the outer screen more and unfolding the larger screen when I wanted a bigger view. But since the outer screen is so small and hard to type on, I end up having to use it unfolded all the time. It’s really killing the experience for me, especially since I already have a tablet. I was also eyeing the Open, but ultimately eneded up gettig the fold. Plus I was curious about the 2024 version. Honestly, I was planning to trade this in next year, but if the Fold 7 doesn’t seriously improve, I’m definitely switching!
I love the look of the new v3... I had the v2 but tbh it sucked.. I currently have the zf6 and love it.. But considering swapping up for the v3 😂 it's a tough one..
Not interested in any foldable but if I had to choose one I'd go with the honor because it has desktop mode which I prefer over any tablet I do like how the pixel looks better though and don't mind the bezels at all
Thanks for the vid AD i was waiting for the pixel to come out before committing to vivo me being in us and able to get things with carrier with deep discount make things hard when wanting to get chinese phone and having to pay more money outta pocket compared to getting from carrier wish they carried chinese phones still
It's a though one... The Honor has the design except for one thing... The hinge doesn't seem as sturdy and I'm afraid it might just be a little bit to thin too. But in terms of looks, Honor. What i find a bit of an eyesore is the left side of the Pixel - that sticks out to wide. But great comparison, looking forward to the rest.👍
Dude search honor v3 stress test they have put this thing in a washing machine froze it in a block of ice they even have one poster took a chain wrapped at around the one half of the phone holding up a cinder block on hanging from the hinge and it didn't break so this thing is solid
Liked the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold at first glance, nice looking phone. After taking a closer look, its a soulless product. Pixel 9 Pro Fold looked a lot like the oppo and oneplus folding phone, their Pixel 9 Pro look a lot like a iphone. Hardware perspective, everyone was praising the Pixel 9 Pro Fold for something that are so basic, I have seen some of those basic features in Chinese phones from 2 to 3 years ago. In terms of battery, many Chinese companies will go as far as redesign the shape of the internal battery for improvement on slimness and capacity, while Pixel 9 Pro Fold had no breakthrough. The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is depressing.
Well, Average Daddy 😆, let's face it, up to now ALL the folding phones have their flaws... At the end what we (or I?) want is a Samsung Z Fold with it's own software and the same(!) thickness of the Z Fold 6 but with the size, the battery, the wireless charging, the IR blaster of the Honor Magic V3. Add the camera's of the Galaxy S24 Ultra and integration of the real (bluetooth) S Pen that's also usable on the outer(!) screen and we certainly have a WINNER! 😁 Maybe it's a good/funny thing to ask the people what THEY consider as their ideal foldable....I'm curious! 😊
I have a z flip6 and a razr 50 ultra. The former kinda is (you can run everything but you really don't want to for more than a few minutes at a time). The latter is just a small phone and a big phone lol. The flip's inner screen is so nice though, and it's noticeably smaller overall so I think of it as an s24 that folds. The mindset/use case of the razr is different. Ultimately, Samsung just needs to get there 100% on both inner and outer screens with their folding phones. They've always prioritized the folded out experience, some might say to detriment of the outer screen but that was more true a gen or two ago. I think they're *just about there though

I literally did. Have had the V3 for a couple months, but not very happy with the software. Recently got the P9PF and much happier with it. Now my v3 collects dust in a drawer. I wish the software was better, as I absolutely loved the hardware
@@Tommy43087 couldn't agree more. I like some aspects of the honor, no doubt but just all around phone, pixel is for me. Greetings, I have 2 questions.. The 1st one is regarded foldable phones comparison.. well, Im wondering will you make another comparison like, OPO Fold vs Pixel 9 Pro Fold? IMHO, you are about to start new foldable series battle like, @everyone vs Pixel 9 Pro Fold.??.. and at the end of this series, you will reach peak of the mountain.. the best foldable, on the market, vs Pixel 9 Pro Fold? Im about to buy OPO Fold and Im definitely 'off board ' regarding Honor Magic V3, especially bad speaker /hardware quality.. My 2nd question is.. can you provide 4K YT resolution of your videos, because Im using . C3 77'', I mean.. better video quality is always welcome.. Thanks in advance
Opinions. Like assholes. Everyone has one. Try putting some thought into your arguments. The day one feel of the hinge is the best it's ever going to get. It's all downhill from there. You can say it doesn't matter but there's a reason build quality, 'tankiness', and premium feel in the hand are hallmarks of the best selling brands
@@EthanCarey-l4c again, a terrible argument. Apple has a reputation of build quality, tankiness, and premium in hand feel. Doesn't stop their phones and tablets from bending and breaking all over the place. Google has a negative reputation on their hardware over the years so they're definitely not that reputable on hardware either. And since we're doing baseless arguments if the hinge has that many steps to stay in place maybe it increases the chances of losing its feel and being looser, sooner because of the tension that is constantly being applied when it's not needed. We don't know, do we? The only angles that matter for usage are 180º and 90º. Just because one of the hinges snaps into place after a certain point doesn't necessarily mean it's any less sturdy than the other and vice versa. We're here talking about the feeling and assigning traits we can't possibly prove, that's why I said the hinge argument is dumb.
think about what you just said... if the Pixels hinge is 5x stronger than the V3 from day one.. surely that remains the difference throughout?! this is also NOT an argument, it is call ed a review and my experience I really hope you are not responsible for anyone with that single brain cell mate
@@AverageDadOfficial Reading comprehension... Where did I even say that? I said this is the public perception. It doesn't make it the truth. I meant that just because an hinge has more steps and feels more premium doesn't make it more durable. Pixel afaik is aluminum inside and out and Honor is some kind of composite fiber outside and reinforced steel on the inside. If we go by material strength I could make the case the honor is stronger. The feel of resistance of it has no bearing whatsoever on its durability. I thought tech was about science and not marketing and vibes.
I think the Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 is the best. 😂😂😂 Just kidding. Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 looks like a toy compared to these two foldables. The Honor Magic V3 is truly a premium piece of artwork and the Google Pixel Pro Fold is built way better than Samsung Fold 6 and this is Samsung 6 F-in generation. I personally left Samsung for the OnePlus Open and now I'm moving to the Honor Magic V3. Samsung Knights have truly been dethroned and must lay down their swords and leave the kingdom. @EthanCarey-l4c agree no one wants a crap hinge, but no one is saying that about the V3, just that the pixel (and Samsung) has a better hinge. If it doesnt feel good I'll return it. Agree pixel hinge is ugly, so i'd be tempted to go Vivo (chinese rom) or Oneplus instead
@@k88kee just buy from a place with a good policy/no restocking then! Good luck. Please share your impressions!
For that reason alone, you get a subscribe from me.
always my friend! thanks
Yeah, was surprised tbh.. Thought u would give a easy honor win so you could sell more 😅
I ordered today. Can't wait. Hope to get it in the next 2 weeks
Hinge is more visible on pixel fold or honor or vivo x3 pro fold?! Please answer. It's important to me because i want to buy one of them.
I kinda prefer the pixel but I 'll consider honor.
But Here are my genuine thoughts on folds ranking
1. Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Global
2. Honor magic V3 Global
3. OP Open
4. Z fold 6
5. Pixel 9 Pro fold
The honor phone is destroying the pixel phone not even close
Please a multitasking comparisson between all the fold devices, i think this is a point that matters nearly the most
Sorry the bezels look ugly AF on the Google and having heard both speakers, the honor has way more bass than the Google.
Which speakers sounds loud.
im tossing up between global honor v3 and vivo x3 pro.. just not sure which one
I hear there are both great Check out Mikes comparisons. But the price is way higher for the Vivo global.
In the store is brown v3 really the red? How long will it take to get to my house in New Jersey if I do expedited shipping?
Does the honor have Google maps installed?
Yes, it's pre installed on the global version.
Can you do a review on call quality also call screening and call recording thank you
If you're making an argument about the hinges, please consider that that space is then gained when open. Otherwise you end up with the embarrassment that is the Galaxy Fold 6. Unusable closed and too narrow for great split screen when open.
this makes zero sense but thanks for watching
I'm in the USA.. Currently on straighttalk which uses Verizon network but I'm willing to switch to another carrier.. Which foldable phone would you recommend? I play games, take pics, watch videos and just normal phone use, I definitely don't want Samsung... Thank you!
Can you tell me which phone has a bigger you tube screen
I need a foldable phone with an "S" type pen for work, and I would consider this essential hardware. Could you please go over which foldable phones have functioning pens. Until I find this, I will not be buying a foldable. I bought the Galaxy Z Fold 5 last year and returned it within two weeks because the outer screen was way too narrow, the lower right back part of the phone overheated in my hand, and the inner screen was too "sticky" and unresponsive, despite my taking it to a Verizon store where they changed some of the settings. It took Samsun eight weeks to refund my money. Not doing that again!
The Honor magic V3 fold supports a stylus but it's honor's exclusive. You can buy it from the average dad store
4 years support for Honor
@@AverageDadOfficial appreciate it ADO 👍🏾👍🏾
@@AverageDadOfficialI have never had a phone for 4 years. Anyone buying this state of the art tech. Also are not keeping it that long. I ❤laugh at the people that say I'm buying Samsung F6 over HV3 because of 7 years vs 4 years of support.
Hey Mike. Great video. Do you think you’ll be stocking the Galaxy Fold SE? Unlikely to be available in the Uk. You may be our best hope 😊
Better hinge for the pixel, but the magic v3 has IR blaster and a bigger battery in a slimmer body!
Great video! New subscriber from the USA.
Why are we celebrating mediocrity??? Pixel fold has a long way to go to even be seen as a competitor to the Chinese phones. Especially the V3
Not to mention the under performing chipset
Hinge, software, durability, support, software, etc...all in Google's favor. Samsung has the same advantages to an even greater degree
@average dad ❤ thank you so much for all your work
My Magic V3 is coming on Tuesday. 🍻
Let me know how that goes. Currently using fold 4

I have the v3 global but am honestly thinking of getting the 9 pro fold. I’m concerned about its durability in the long term.
You said that the Pixel is 90hz om the external screen, its not though?
my honor V2 once the factory film came off outer screen(rather fast) it scratched like crazy and easy, even from car cupholders, pockets non stop fine scratches
Just bought a vivo x fold 3 pro (china model), hoping its still on par with the magic v3 or still considered somewhat better in departments.
If you are covering hardware should you also have covered charging? Pixel 7.5 wireless charging..... good grief! But great comparison video. Looking forward to part 2..... But mostly part 3 😊
He would have inckuded charging review if pixel had more. I feel like these youtubers just dont want to comment on charging as it will hurt apple google and Samsung
Id love to see the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Global included please, that one is probably better than both of these!
It is better but not worth the extra 500 quid...
I have vivo x fold 3 pro and v3 global. The v3 is better to keep your hand it was very similar nto regular phone
@@Marky_MarksterI love my one plus open but they burned me on my trade in. Offered $999 for my fold 5 and months later sent it back saying bad pixels. I called and did talk to them (impressive) all they said was it was a third party and blamed them no resolution. Now i have a fold 5 i can't sell for $600. So be carfule.
I just upgraded to the V3. The formfactor is so underrated
Omg so your name is Mike?! I thought the guy who replied to my email regarding my order was one of your minions!
Could we have a comparison with the vivo x fold 3 pro please???
Haha, AD Minions😂

Really needed this
great video, yes im bias to the V3 as i just bought one but you did make a compelling argument for both devices. ill need to be careful when i have the phone in tripod mode. great tests 😁
Is Samsung watch 7 and buds 3 pro work on magic v3?
yes
@@AverageDadOfficial is there a AI composer function on magic V3 like Fold 6?
Wouldnt be an AD video without that catchy NCS song :D
The lack of stylus on the pixel fold is such a shame
Using One note in the work place as a note taking secondary device when on teams calls..
I had v2 thought it was excellent.
Not interested in any foldable but if I had to choose one I'd go with the honor because it has desktop mode which I prefer over any tablet
I do like how the pixel looks better though and don't mind the bezels at all
How can I get a Honor v3 in the US?
Average Dad store and WandaMobile are going to be your best bets
my store link is in every video description! ship 50 phones a week to the USA
Wait Pixel 9PF's front screen refresh rate is either 60 or 90hz????? Damnnn that alone is a dealbreaker for me.
thank you for this. you helped me made a decision
As a proud owner on v magic 2 and 3...! There is no foldable beating honor this year!
Awesome stuff mate!
Thank you! Cheers!
V3 you can put it in the washer with no problem.
You left the fact that the V3 does much faster charging
I like the Pixel design but the software I'm not too sure about
The brownish red colour is terracotta

Maybe it's a good/funny thing to ask the people what THEY consider as their ideal foldable....I'm curious! 😊
What even is a candy bar?
It's a sweet treat
Hershey bar
When you compare cameras, please zoom in on the moon . Thanks
😂 finding excuses because the honor is lighter and the hinge can not get too a useless angle... The Pixel is a big letdown
excuses? i sell the V3 you Goon! i was demonstrating the strength of the hinge but hey... you do better
Pixel fold is badass alot of hater imo. Team Pixel is fun to use
I think a flip phone is a candy bar phone and a smartwatch rolled into one.
I think they're *just about there though
eh..... weird comment! you wear your watch on your wrist?
@@AverageDadOfficial The front display has similar functionality to a smartwatch. It tells you the time and gives you your notifications in a compact form.
So there's no chance of anything accidentally falling in between the screens on a Honor Magic because it clicks shut..
Honor Magic it is then 😉..
Hello average dad from Kirkcaldy.
The bezel on the front of the pixel is terrible.
Sadly they downgraded the ram to 12 and the storage to 512, so there's no 1tb nor 16ram for the global version
I have the magic v2. No matter what Chinese suck with software
oh man! so wrong nut too tired to argue
Thank you for the video and the information. Your content is truly one of a kind!
no one is picking that pixel over honor, not in this universe
I literally did. Have had the V3 for a couple months, but not very happy with the software. Recently got the P9PF and much happier with it. Now my v3 collects dust in a drawer. I wish the software was better, as I absolutely loved the hardware
@@Tommy43087 couldn't agree more. I like some aspects of the honor, no doubt but just all around phone, pixel is for me. (My opinion, I don't game, never use the pen, and that applish software just kills it for me, feels like an apple fold)
Wish pixel had the IR blaster and faster charging but as my second phone I really don't need the faster charging.
Greetings,
I have 2 questions..
I have TH-cam premium. 4k is an option and looks noticeably crisper.
all my videos are 4K
Lol the hinge argument is so incredibly dumb.
We're here talking about the feeling and assigning traits we can't possibly prove, that's why I said the hinge argument is dumb.
think about what you just said...
if the Pixels hinge is 5x stronger than the V3 from day one.. surely that remains the difference throughout?!
this is also NOT an argument, it is call ed a review and my experience
I really hope you are not responsible for anyone with that single brain cell mate
and Kaiz... officially the most durable and reliable phones are iphones.... jesus i fear for our future with people like you!
@@AverageDadOfficial
Reading comprehension...
What use to anyone is the pixels hinge staying open at 10degrees stupid 😂😂
it was about the build quality and the fact it stays open at all angles...
