I’ve been following these since they started getting imported to the US. I got a spreadsheet and this one is on it. My first car was a 2003 Galant LS. I loved that thing and I feel like this will be the perfect collectible daily. Doesn’t have too much power, AWD is a must for winters where I live, can’t go wrong with a wagon, and it’s not insanely expensive for being an import like evos or stageas are. Now I just gotta convince the wife to let me buy one 😂
The automatic learns how you drive and shifts accordingly. I have a 2001 model with some mods and love seeing people's faces when the experience the performance, definitely not what they expect.
I'm something of a connoisseur of auto boxes and from the moment I first drove my Galant Wagon I was not disappointed. Immediately the INVECS-II reminded me of a Hondamatic design of gearbox and I later found out that indeed it's not a BorgWarner type slush box but an in house design of box that uses clutch to clutch shifting. The learning and logic is very pronounced and noticeable. If you pick up the pace you suddenly notice very fast and firm shifts and compression braking out of nowhere. It's such a tiny and light little gearbox as well. The fact they come with a radiator by default is awesome, that was usually an option back in the day for people who wanted to tow. In this awful world of sealed for life transmissions it's unbelievable that you get a dipstick, yes, but a goddamned screw on filter that's easy to access😮😮😮😮😮😮. Almost as if Mitsubishi thought you might want the car to run for a long time and many miles. If I had any criticism at all I could only say that in manual mode the harshness of upshifts can be so quick it's actually neck snapping a bit! Then the INVECS-III.....CVT. No thanks!
Good to see vr4s out there. Also if you didn't know, it also has auto wind up and down windows with the remote key. Press the button twice and hold it down.
I don't know will have to try it! Thank you for the information. And we should have more videos coming on it we moved shop and about doing moving so we will have more time for video 👊😎 it a really cool car!
Nice keep it up. I have some videos on my channel on my Galant vr4, looking to do more of it soon on the rebuild. If you looking for parts, there's TME motorsport and RPW here in Australia, should check it out, and join the Ozvr4 forums should find more info about them.
@@tommykentner My was fairly stock in those videos, just some bolt ons. Front mount intercooler, 255 fuel pump, front pipes and 3' exhaust with a remapped ECU, and drove a lot better 👌 215kw at the wheels. And few suspension works. But now doing a full built, and high flow turbos etc, keeping the twins turbo for now.
So happy to see these starting to show up in the states!!
Right! They are really fun to drive power Wagon! 👊😎
Just saw one for the first time at a gas station and the dude let me take pictures! That led me to this vid. Such a baller wagon
