Thanks for this video. I was able to replace my lower control arm following your video. The most difficult part is raising the transmission/motor. On the opposite side, I had to raise the motor mount nut to the top of the motor mount bolt to get the transmission to raise up enough to remove the motor mount, but I was still about 2mm short. I had to use a pry bar to raise it just enough to get the motor mount out. It was a joyous event when it slid out and the motor mount came out.

great video. Well explained. The very beginning of your video where you mentioned the tire shimmy was actually the high point of the whole video for me… considering, my 2009 Camry had severe vibration in the steering wheel when braking , especially at high speeds. I could feel a slight shimmy at low speeds during breaking, but at high-speed braking, you had a keep a really firm grip on that steering wheel. I had already replaced the rotors and brake pads, assuming that the shimmy was from a warped rotor. I was definitely wrong on that one. Examining the rear bushing on my car showed the rear control amount rubber torn significantly at the attachment point to the metal ring. Next week I am going to follow the video and install the lower control arm assemblies. Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to educate us.
On another note, 1 of the comments below indicated that he may have separated his CV joints when doing this job , causing them to fail. what is your take on that? Do you think loosening the axle shaft retaining nut a bit and knocking it back as needed to make sure the axle shaft joints are not under tension so the joints are not separated within the boots?

Thanks for watching. Whenever working with CV joints, you must be careful not to allow the joint to be expanded to the point that the joint will come apart. Some joints, like the older Volkswagens are difficult to put back together. Keeping the joint compressed is a good idea.

Remove axle nut and push axle in before lifting engine/trans

When i did the control arms it broke both cv axles. caused them to leak grease. I think the cv axle is pulled out when you lift the engine for the mount. I am going to do these on another camry, and i will disconnect the cv and knock it out the knuckle before i jack the engine up.

One question ! Before jacking up the engine to remove the bottom engine mount, do you have to remove the top engine mount too ? Jacking the engine while the top mount is still on will destroy it, which I learnt the hard way 😢

Thanks so much...I'm going to attempt mine this long weekend! One question, what's the best way/place to jack up the engine with the floor jack...I don't want to accidentally crush something.

Camera angles suck for this video. Also, you need to work on the terminology.
