  • First of all, i would like to apologize for the delay of my new videos. My whole family and myself included had COVID but we are all well now. We got lucky and only had mild symptoms. Thank you god for watching over us!
Today, i am changing both ball joint on a Toyota Camry 2010 but it is the same for all camry since 2001 (the easy replaceable ball joint design ). It is very simple and anyone can do it at home even without any electric tools (ok i had to use them to save time).
94 lbtq for the 17mm nuts and bolt
90 lbtq for the 19mm Castle nut

Great video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I'm going to replace mine too. They want too much money at the auto shop! I have been doing all my own repairs.

Thanks for your video. Very similar to what I did however you skipped over how you retorqued the ball joint castle nut using an open spanner.
Like your car, the Australian 2005 model has a large dust shield surrounding the axel/wheel bearing that is super close to the lower ball joint castle nut. You can barely get the nut loosened and only with an open ended spanner. Now i am stuck knowing if i can 'torque' it back up sufficiently or even how to measure that i have.
I'd prefer not having to do the full knuckle disassembly and prising out the dust shield just to get a socket and torque wrench on it.
Do you have any recommendations or tricks to retorque that nut?
Googling says torque to 90 ft-lbs, which i think is 122Nm, which I am guessing is highish for an open ended spanner.

Seems Montreal winters and pot holes are hard with ball joints. Useful video.

The bolt at the 4 minute point is righty-loosey.....as opposed to lefty-loosey, in case anyone is having problems getting that off...

You don't have to disconnect the strut?
