How often do you clean the screen? Being a 2 stroke i would assume it could get clogged over time with oil. And has a ranger ever told yea that its not an approved spark arrestor because the silencer is not stamped?? I have a stock silencer with a sparky mounted to it and while its effective, it is an eyesore. I have a factory sound 304 pro circuit silencer and would like to do this. Very slick man.
***** Thanks man really helpful info. I actually just realized that I sold my Pro circuit 304 silencer a long time ago. Oh well. I could probably find a decent used one On ebay or CL for cheap though and do this. I dont really like how long the Turbine Core 2 or Nature friendly spark arrestors are. Im gonna be looking for the fmf shorty. But the power core 2 or Pro circuit factory sound 304 will be fine. On the jetting i think i should be good since i already have a spark arrestor on my bike. But if i notice a difference i will re-jet.

I have an fmf shorty and ran into the same problem. Did you do this method with that silencer as well?
correct me if I'm wrong....but will two stroke not clog this fine mesh in a heartbeat?
No. I usually blow it out with air once a month or so.

Yeah. You can get it loose with a screw driver and hammer no problem. I cleaned mine about once month. But we rode just about every weekend.

The one I used was a Pro Circuit screen. You can use any cone shaped screen though.
