I’m sad that Bart is no longer part of Donut Media. His educational videos were unmatched. They’re extremely entertaining, informative, easy to digest and easier to understand. He doesn’t branch off and throughout the whole video it’s never vague.

I laid my 1978 2 stroke mercury v6 to rest only last year and not because it was worn out internally. Corrosion and electric components were the deciding factors which no 4 stroke is immune from either.
I had a rmz 250f last one summer my rm 250 takes every think my dad has a 97 cr 250 got it wen it was all most brand new and never change the cylinder change the piston twice ever my uncle got a 01 cr 250 never rebuild it now tell me a fuck four storke that last that long ya that’s right I didn’t think so they blow up every few years

So they were just using the best quality product tht the content was based on. There are direct injection two cycle engines that burn equally as clean as a four cycle now and make more power for the same displacement. Plus with the direct injection 2 cycles they’re longer lasting than a 4 cycle cuz of less moving parts still. I would love to see you guys go further into depth on these engines as kinds an up to speed like you guys did with the LS if I remember correctly. However this was an excellent episode as always from Donut!

People think it's annoying that I find engines to be more interesting than anything that's trending on social media. They say it doesn't matter how engines work. I say it matters because engines make so many things possible.
Diesel 2 strokes are in their own category. I was more curious about Husky and KTM bringing back their two stroke this year, but with fuel injection and an oil tank.
@@ohnojt From what Ive read, you have a seperate oil tank. No longer need to carry oil to make premix gas. Further more the ECM can dial in how much oil and run it as from as little as 100 to 1 parts oil to gas. Etc for a cleaner burn.

While they inherently don't last as long 2 strokes have come a long way in efficiency. Coming from the snowmobile world. I'm starting to see 10,000 miles on some of the sleds coming into the shop. with no engine work on them.

powerband is different. It's actually opening a second chamber in the carby leading just above the piston to let more fuel and oxygen in. This actually leads to stress on gaskets. Thus the problems.

powerband is different. It's actually opening a second chamber in the carby leading just above the piston to let more fuel and oxygen in. This actually leads to stress on gaskets. Thus the problems.
