Cats are surprisingly deep thinkers. Even though they lack the facility to communicate with us in our language. Although, if they ever overcome the physiological impediment, we will learn so much more from them than we ever imagined possible

My 18-year-old orange boy Ralph passed away a few months ago and I miss him terribly. He was a talker and a fetcher, too (and a shelter rescue as well).
Lost my little tiger, Elvis, also a shelter rescue, just two weeks ago. He had one remarkable personality that I've never experienced in a cat before. After almost ten years with us, he lost the fight against cancer just within a week. He went by far too early. But in a way, our house, his house, still has his incredibly positive energy. We buried him in our garden at his favorite spot. Greeting him every day, feeling him every day. Somehow that helps going through this painful process. I feel with you, it's loosing a family member. But you're not alone. Ralph will always be with you, just in a different way.
@@rudigerrohrig3228 Last year I had a portrait painted of Ralph and his buddy BooBoo (who passed away in 2018). I have that painting on my bedroom wall and they're both with me all night. Sometimes I wake up and am positive they're sleeping at the foot of the bed.
I think the way he moves his eyes is relatable to humans. Especially side to side. I can’t quite explain it better than that. It’s just different in some way compared to other cats. He’s so cute & talkative! What a special gentleman.
I wasn't into orange cats either. I lived on a farm and fed the feral cats, so when I moved away I took them with me, all 12 of them. There was one orange cat in the group. I found homes for some of them since they were happy being in a house but Sam, my orange cat clung to me so I kept him. He slept in bed under the covers with me purring till he fell asleep. He had to be on my lap everytime I sat down. Sam turned out to be the best cat I ever owned. In April of this year the same day I came home from having a knee replacement, he was very sick. My granddaughter took us to the vet and he had to be put down. It was one of the worst days of my life. You have one special cat there who will cherish you as much as you cherish him.❤❤❤❤
Oh my goodness! You were so kind to take them all in. So sorry you had to put Sam down. It never gets easier for us but they know they are loved. Enjoy the holidays and hope you are feeling better now.
You should get another cat, it helps. I now have a cat that sleeps on my bed with me. He is a russian blue that I named Smokey and he is a good cat that loves his wet gravy food that I feed him twice a week.
I'm on my second orange cat and I don't think I ever want to be without one. They are so chatty and funny and demanding. He talks back to me and I love it. Welcome to the club! ♥️
seriously i adopted my first one when i moved out now i have another one and i dont think ill stop 💀 theyve brought so much joy to my life i just wanna do the same
Orange cats are almost always male. Calicos are always female. Orange female cats need two orange parents or one orange and one calico with the orange gene. I prefer female cats. Love them all though.
I had an orange tabby when I was a little kid, his name was Alexander. Best buddy I could have ever had. He was so playful and attentive and always ready to snuggle. That was back in 1965. Those memories of him still bring a smile to my face.
I had a kitten named, Linus in 1968. Still miss him to this day!!! My current boy is, Sundance. Both, orange tiger tabbies!!! Love more than I have in this life!

I remember my fat ginger male cat named Diesel. I had him for almost 15 yrs. He looked like Kona, but rounder. His paws were huge when he was a baby, so I named him Diesel. He was very talkative and charismatic. Something special about kitties. They know your moods and can sense things we don't say out loud. I miss my fat man. I sure do cherish every moment we had and know many like me do too. Give kitties 😸 plenty of cuddles cause they deserve it!
Almost thirty years ago I adopted a half-grown orange kitten from a Wisconsin shelter. His name was Tiger. It was a good name for him. He had a forceful personality, was extremely intelligent, forgot NOTHING (he disliked men because he'd been mistreated by one apparently), and ruled cats twice his size with an iron paw. I could teach him tricks (always for a reward; he wasn't a DOG...) and taught him to use a harness and leash. He would get to chase mice and such in the tall grass, but when I'd say it was time to go in, he'd cuss me out with snarls and hisses. I'd pick him up and he'd continue the tantrum but never bit me as I carried him to the apartment. One day he lost a toy under the couch. I was in a hurry to get to work. I told him, "I don't have time! I will get your toy when I get home!" He blinked at me then sat down. I left the apartment. When I came home eight hours later, he came right over to me, then meowed, then walked over to the couch expectantly. I got the yardstick and fished the toy out. He's long gone but I will never forget that cat. Never have had one since with half the smarts. He was exceptional.
Lol when our dog sees another dog do tricks for no reward he looks at them as if to say "what an idiot" haha! Well he is a husky and brought up by and with cats. Once he sat down for a guy, gave his paw, then the guy threw a ball and doggo just walked away in the opposite direction. Was funny asf, "nah now you're asking way too much dude, you go get your ball".
