40 years ago we bought a farm, cat distribution center must have heard about it so we just kept getting cats. First I used to advertise in the local papers and on the local radio where no one came for them, so I stopped all actions and if they came on their own 4 soft paws they immediately got owned by us. When they passed away, they had their cemeteries along with our dogs then we moved away taking all the headstones with us. Cat distribution center was very kind to us, now 3 indoor cats and 6 TNR feral kitties we feed every day, life is good!

The CDS (Cat Distribution System) is in over-drive for me. It doesn’t help that apparently two of my cats are employees of the CDS. One keeps bringing adult cats home and the other (neutered male) brought home a new born a few weeks ago. The kitten is now named Jack and doing fine.

@@frogpalpeeper4249 FACT!! My cats did. I rescued two, one in July (A boy) and another in December (A girl). She was in heat, he was more than happy with that.
I couldn't get them fixed because COVID Shutdowns had just hit. So we had kittens.
One night, I was petting Dora (Short for Dorable), and whining about the hassle and strain and stress of the added expense etcetera, when she just looked at me and smiled, and said, "I is having babbehs."
And all of a sudden, the sun came up in the middle of the night, complete with Rainbows and Butterflies, and an Angelic Host singing, "Hallelujah, he finally gets it..."
Many, MANY more litters of babies later, and we got everyone homed but Mom and Dad and the 3 oldest boys. And I was no longer stuck in a pit of depression.
There's something about having a Lady of Distinction trust me enough to have her babies on my lap.

@ Doesn't even have to be Babbehs. The best toy for a cat is another cat.
However, comma, introducing two adults can be a little intricate, whereas introducing a baby to an adult CAN proceed a little easier.
      CAN, but not always.
I currently have 5. The CDS decided I not only needed a cat, but that I was a suitable Foster Grandpa for Way Too Many Litters™.
I got two that adopted me, 6 months apart. The second was a girl in heat. The boy, adopted 6 months earlier, was ecstatic.
I wasn't quite so pleased. I wasn't upset, either, though. I had planned on having them both broken when my next check came in, but...
Then the COVID shutdowns hit. I lost count of how many cats we had in the house, before I could start taking people to the pound (My local Shelter is a "Mercy Kill Only" one).
I had made a promise to Mom and Dad that they would be my kitties until death do we part. And 3 of the boys from the first litter decided to bond to me, and reject possible adopters. So, I got them back as "TNR Cats." The fiction being that "I'd release them in the neighborhood they knew." Other than these three, all the others were adopted out, and I was told I raise sweet kittens.
I now have 5 cats, and I love and pet and feed them all...
The 3 a.m. Zoomies are amusing. I actually went Biphasic Sleeping because of them, and I rather like it.

17 years ago, I heard mewing from outside my office. It was cold and raining that day. I found 5 kittens down in an irrigation hole, and the water was rushing in. As I pulled them out, I met Salem and his siblings. Sibs all found homes of their own, but Salem stayed with us. He's partially blind and deaf and a little wobbly on his feet now, but he's been my baby since I found him. He meows like an opera singer, complains loudly when we leave doors closed or change something in the house, and demands cuddles after every nap (no matter how short). He's my little old man kitty, and I love him so much. ❤

Cat distribution system found my parents when I was a teen! There was a local stray in our trailer park that always hung around and my step-dad would always feed him every time. He stopped coming around one day and my family found out that animal control had gotten him and he was now a shelter cat. 3 months later, we were looking to get a cat since we just moved into a different area a few miles away from the old one. My parents went to the closest shelter, not knowing it was the right one, and boom! Mr.Whiskers the old local stray my step-dad always fed was there. Adopted on the spot and became my technical older (in actual human years lol) brother. My step-dad was always a dog person and Whiskers was his first cat. They were inseperable till he eventually used the last of his nine lives.

I was looking for a kitten and was originally planning to buy a tuxedo kitten from my mother's neighbors, but the first meeting didn't go well and they decided to sell him to a family friend instead. A couple days later i met the most adorable red kitten. When i picked him up he looked at me with his giant kitten eyes, laid his head against my chest and started purring up a storm. The funny thing is that I fall into the category of the cat distribution, starting off my pandemic baby family found when he we between 2-3 weeks old, his ears barely perked and he was learning to walk. By himself, and of course the day we found him it was a stormy day and likely if we left him behind he wasn’t going to make it or struggle through the night. He was a tiny little guy, a little underweight of what he should have been, honestly was worried he wasn’t going to make it. Few days turned into weeks, by then it dawned on me he was going to be fine and I had to start thinking of giving him a name lol.
Today he is such a beast, big boy, and one of the most loving thing ever. Very surprised how social he turned out to be, it was one of my worries he’d end up being skittish but he loves people, still need to work on getting him used to dogs though. Truly he is such a blessing in my life 🥰

@@K_idkI find it quite miraculous how the animal kingdom easily has the gift of healing & magic touch when it comes to having emotional/mental state. I'm there with you on that, cuz I know what it's like to suffer major depression to a point where you just can't take it anymore. Believe me, I've been there several times already while growing up & I got pretty darn close the last time it happened! Chronic depression is a horrific monster of a disorder & very, very real. It's sad that a lot of people don't see how bad & serious it can get. We all gotta remember to spread awareness about this scary disorder, & help people realize how better of a world it would be to reach out & help those who really stand in need of comfort.
Normally I don't share my own story of coping with it with everyone I meet, but it happened to me last time during one night back during the summer of 2015. My medication at that time that I had been on since I was 13 had worn off & wasn't making much of an effect on my mental state. I had lost my job at Walmart after working for three years with not so nice & misunderstanding people. I was pushed to the very brink not long afterwards when my husband & I had to give my cat up to a loving home because we couldn't afford to keep her with us & love on her. It was the last straw for me & hit me hard like concrete bricks, because I felt like she & our other cat were not only members of our family, but they were my personal ESA's whenever my hubby was busy at work. They were separately always everywhere that I was at home, because they never got along with one another. However, they were the very things that kept me going while my husband worked his job, & wasn't always there to hold me close & comfort me when I really needed him. Those devastating emotions of feeling hopeless were the darkest & lowest I've ever had in my entire life later that night, after only hours of giving her up! It literally felt like I had lost a big chunk of myself, which led me to fall into a deep dark hole that I couldn't escape from. It got to a point where I almost literally gave up hope & thought I was beyond worth of being rescued. I look back & regret the entire thing because of how close I was to succeeding that last time. I often reminisce the memories, & see how much it really hurt & partly traumatized my husband & damaged my family😟😢 I felt so out of touch afterwards, despite everyone praying for my survival. During the weeks & months that followed after it occurred, I began to slowly realize my own self worth. I then made a vow to myself & to God that I'd do my utmost to not let myself get that close again. I'm doing alright for the time being, & am on 2 medications to help me through it all. But it still has yet to change the fact of feeling incomplete without a feline or canine companion to also help me out. I'm hoping so badly that once we move out into our own place, our turn will come again soon so that my hubby & I can feel completely whole once more.

I got lucky with the Cat Distribution System. I was chosen three times. One eventually moved into my friend's house, the other passed away (RIP Little Tiger), and the third, who is still with us, had three kittens. So all in all, the Cat Distribution System provided me six cats. 😁

I had a cat named lilly who was my baby. She was beautiful. So loving. We shared 12 years together of bestest friend bliss. When she passed away i said never will i have another cat. I couldn't possibly love a cat as much as i loved my lilly. Then about a month later i heard a loud noise on my porch around 1 am. I instantly thought a thief was messing around. I was kind of correct cuz when i opened my door and hollered acting all badass i saw a black momma cat with a baby that was very sick. The momma had laid her baby right by the door then she apparently decided to get my attention by knocking my plant off the patio furniture. She kept meowing loudly until i picked up her baby. Then she ran away stopping to look back once. Ive never seen her again but that baby stole my heart!! I took her to the emergency vet and she was dying. They kept her for 3 days giving her iv and medicines she needed. Shes now 2 years old. my sweet Mashka was given to me by her momma who loved her so much she found a way to save her babys life.

Back in 2003, the cat distribution system found me while biking on some trails in the Florida forest. Beautiful black kitten with large paws and a broad nose. Fast forward three months and she was huge, bigger than my five year old cat with really large paws.
Took her to the vet to get fixed and some info on the breed... she was a baby black panther...
Vet arranged for transport to the local cat sanctuary for prep & release. Sad day.

We especially my husband did not want to get another cat ever again because it was too painful. After about 2 years a little cat came to our house looking for food and it’s now 2 years later and we have Mr. Hissy Fit and two months later a senior cat who was abandoned made its way to our house and thus Toto will spend his golden years with us he will NEVER get rid of us were one happy family now.❤❤❤

She did run away once due to being scared off by a dog, but did come back a week later, much to my relief. I was 5 or 6 at the time. Sadly had to put her down during high-school due to her developing stomach issues and unable to keep food down. Still miss my princess.

My roommate and I used to joke about what we'd do if we ever found a baby in a bush. Well...we found a 5wk severely emaciated kitten in the middle of morning traffic in 2020. Her head was smaller than a Gerber baby food can lid. She weighed less than 5oz and at her age should have been around 15oz. She will be turning 4 years old in July 2024. She's scared of everything but when she wants love she wants LOVE. She has three other siblings to torment and is just all around a great cat. We love her so fucking much.

I remember back in 2016 when we moved into my current house, I was home alone. We already had a cat, but I heard meowing outside. I got scared that she got loose, so I peeked out the sliding glass door to see a kitten that looked exactly like her. Apparently the person that lived in our house before owned her, but left her since she was an outside cat. I sat outside with her for 30 mins, she was the friendliest cat I had ever met. We proceeded to take care of her for the next 7 years. She passed a year after my cat did, who lived to be 15.
Now we got 2 more indoor cats and 4 more outdoor, who chose us too. The cat distribution system seems to know we take good care of cats lol

My cat Noah was washed onto our property by flood waters that came through it during a freak storm about 11 or 12 years ago. As the waters receded and the clean up began, I heard something. No one else could hear it, but I honed in on the faintest meows to a distressed & muddy little Kitten, hiding up an olive tree in the front yard. Scratched myself something fierce forcing through the thin, sharp branches. Came out covered in blood, triumphant, with cat. Had to call him Noah. He made the post flood trauma easier to cope with. Still lives here. Generously takes it upon himself to run everyone's lives to whatever extent he can.
Lost my Garfield last year. My Father coaches Tennis. A park adjoining the tennis courts had a proud orange furball playing it down, but doin' it tough. First time I met him he asked for a home and got one. The Vet said he was 11yo, and chipped. His "owner" lived at an address almost at the tennis courts. The vet couldn't legally vaccinate him without owner's authority. I packed him in my cat carrier and drove there. Knocked and an old Italian geezer comes out with his middle aged daughter. He says yeah, that's Garfield. He lived there til they bought a dog and they didn't get along. So they left him at the park to fend for himself 5 or 6 years before and hadn't seen him since. Like they looked. So I said, not asked, that he'll be living with me now. I gave him a paper to sign, and a pen, giving me authority over Garfield. He offered no resistance. Couldn't care less. After some initial hostility, Noah learned to accept his presence and they were kool. No fights. Garfield lived out his 6 remaining years as happy as an orange furball could hope to be. I buried him in my backyard last year. His absence is still unbearable.
As is Ginger's, before him. A stray I found living in the dumpster behind the restaurant my Dad's girlfriend manages. He was very sick. Had to have all his teeth out, and other treatment. Cost me nearly $2K. I had to live with a painful broken tooth for a year and a half longer. Nursed him back to health. But he had a condition I had to monitor. I was told cats with his rare illness usually don't live more than two, or three years max. Ginger had 7 more happy, almost completely pain free years. Until it got him at about 13 yo. He was a really special little guy. Garfield helped me get over him when he came along a year later. But I still can't think about Ginger without being overcome by his absence. I was told by a lady Vet in Texas who was the world's recognised authority on Ginger's condition, who my Vet consulted to help me devise Ginger's sometimes complex treatment regime with numerous medicines, that I was the first person known to have had a cat with that condition, who got it to live a great life for that long. It required a routine of medicines in the morning and late afternoon every day, of varying dosage commensurate with how he was doing. Which I learned to read. Plus some additional medication if he was having a flare up. His condition had one of those impenetrable medical names.....something Stomatosis something something. I did without and worked hard to make him really happy & healthy. Both Vets were stunned by his miraculous turnaround from when I found him at death's door. He used to play with Noah in the garden. He was about 13 or 14 yo when he succumbed.
Point being, like the folks in this video....if you see a little critter in need, and you have the capacity to save him or her. Just do it. Adopt them. I've always had animals and all were adopted strays. Or adopt one from a shelter. DON'T buy from pet stores or breeders. There are millions of REALLY nice critters who don't have a home or chance without you. If you can look 'em in the eye and say no, you're tougher than me.
And IF you're one of those sh!ts who dumps Kittens or Puppies in trash cans or whatever because they're surplus to your requirements, or is cruel to animals in any way, just remember. Someone like me might see you. And you really do not want that.
It will not end well for you.

If a cat is not afraid to approach or be touched by you, a complete stranger, then you should probably consult a veterinarian to see if the cat is lost.
I lost mine for a year, untraceable, I had to move to another city, but exactly a year after his disappearance, someone had found him, alive and quite muscular although very skinny, apparently he was survived by being fed by old women from a nearby neighborhood. .
The people who found him thought about keeping him but tried to see the vet first, seeing that he belonged, the vet called us and we got him back like that, a year later.
It's sad for those who wanted to keep him.
But we really love him and wanted him back, the most painful thing was not knowing if our cat was alive and lost, or dead, hit by a car. Not knowing is a really difficult thing because we couldn't mourn.

After my cat passed away I didn't really want another cat.
Someone asked what I would want in a cat if I ever adopted again. I threw out a list of wants i didn't think would ever be possible. A few weeks later my roommate was scrolling on facebook and saw their friend was trying to find a home for a kitten. When I saw the picture I cracked. I really had no plans to ever get a cat again, but when I saw his face I knew he was the one. A week later I picked up the kitten. He was the runt of the litter, and was the last one looking for a home. His previous owner did the right thing by rehoming Him. They had other pets and weren't giving the kitten the best care. He was way too skinny and had flees, and they weren't going to fix him or vaccinate him.
I cried when i got to hold him. He's 3 now and he's my best friend. The best part? that list I made up, He was everything I wanted and more.

True. For at least 4-5 years I've had a beautiful gray cat show up occationally to stare at my cats in the basement window.
He's very friendly, healthy. He loves a few treats but turns down actual food so he's not hungry. I don't know where he lives but he's someone's.
Last fall he actually showed up with a collar on. Makes me wonder if he's chipped and someone found him took him to the vet and his family got him back. Hence the new collar to let people know he's claimed.
So I just call him my outdoor cat and take beautiful pictures. I enjoy his visits.

It's 100% true! The cat distribution system is EXACTLY how I got my two babies Bonnie and Clyde.

Almost all of ours have been via cat distribution one way or another whether they popped up out of the wild or were randomly bestowed upon us by others. We have only had to go out of our way to adopt two, and we've had a multi-cat household of 2 or 3 all the years we've been married - more than 25.

We found two kittens under our porch. I was SO upset that my mother blatantly ignored the cat distribution system but we already had a very jealous single cat

I got my first cat from an animal shelter, and have subsequently had many over the years. Other than that first one, they were all given to me by friends that either couldn't care for them or found them outside. I have loved them all. The cat distribution system works in mysterious ways.
