Finally found what I was looking for. I spotted this move in Mr. Hogan's regular footage but it was difficult to find verification until now. Thanks very much for this!
It would be very interesting to me to get your view on where the weight pressure is going at each stage of this move. Is the motive force for that lateral move coming from his right leg? At what point does the weight shift into his lead leg? Does it happen suddenly or is he floating the pressure across from right to left?
Very interesting but quite a bit different than modern players I think. (For example I have heard don't go past your front ankle on the shift.) See “Lower Body Motion in Elite Players/Shaun Webb Golf” video for another view of a modern elite player.
Can you tell me if I'm seeing this correctly. It looks like the left hip is over or close to being over his left heal at address . Then, after the lateral shift or while the lateral shift is happening, it looks like both hips are over the left heal rotating around it.
what i dont get is that every vid ive ever seen of Mr Hogan from dlt the shaft appears to point left of target (some people call this laid off, some call it on plane) however from this overhead view it, appears for a split second the shaft is exactly parallel to the target line at the top ???
You have to be extremely flexible to pull this off. If you notice at the height of torque at the top of the backswing his shoulders and hips are almost perpendicular
Some instructors would say he is off sides because the head is even with or past the ball at impact 4:01,4:02. Not sure if you see many of the modern players have their heads even with or forward of ball at impact. Typically the head goes back. Just making a comment. I am certainly not an expert just my observation

Or diagonally? Are they pushing, pulling or rolling?
Priceless : thank you. Grateful Aussie.
Glad you enjoyed it
Marvelous.

isolation of Hogan’s hip action from Gregg McHatton’s Blob Man software. You’re lucky to have that!

This is a driver swing from Shell's Wonderful World of Golf match, he did get this one to parallel and the top. Thanks for watching.
Do you have this footage? I would love to see the actual footage never seen this Hogan video from the top before.

Is the ball position accurately places

most people under 30 can do that easily.

How’s was this measured? Is this modelled off a video ? If so it can’t be accurate surely?
