    I'm friends with the ND driver. When I started autocrossing I had an MR2 Spyder and he had a NA Miata, we competed in E Street together. Now I've got a Z4 M and he's got the ND.
    I was at the same event for my second time in Novice. Stock pads and 460 UTQG runflat tires but I was around 1:52 when traffic wasn't holding me up (and I wasn't doing a cool down lap for my tired brakes).
    EBC Bluestuff and Kumho Ecsta V730s are in the garage ready for next season!

      What does the ND have done to it? Is it ND1 or ND2?
      Would be great to have some context beyond what the BRZ has done to it. Haha

      @@alexflores5020 ND1 with Kumho Ecsta V730 tires and Hawk HP+ brake pads. And a lowered seat so he fits with a helmet on! I hear his racing stripes add 25 horsepower.

    Noticing a huge improvement in your driving over your early videos. Had no idea the BRZ 2nd gear took it all the way to 80.

      thanks man! it's funny to go back and watch those now lol
      also it def doesn't I think the gear indicator is glitched, it's one gear off for some reason

    Apparently the Focus people this day were not paying attention at the drivers meeting. Fun seeing a Chrysler Crossfire on track, I rarely see these cars in general to see one on track is kinda cool. Great driving, keep it up.

    Hi there Mr. Hats. I am just going to comment here, as I liked these style of videos.
    Are you going to have more soon or a Paetron so we can get longer-form Mr. Hats content or a Discord?
    Thank you for your time, video, and sharing with us, Mr. Hats.

    Finally it seems like you can keep up on the straights! These cars needed this kind of power from the factory honestly. But I suppose, with fitting in a certain price range as well as insurance and emission standards, they did the best they could.

    • @dadhats
      @dadhats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it's so much better now dude! I'm honestly not sure what they were thinking releasing this engine in stock form it's genuinely pretty terrible. the new ones got it right tho

    Been watching for a few weeks. Loving the content. Just realized you're on air suspension?! How is it compared to traditional? Feel any different to drive? Do you still have dampening adjustments?

    • @dadhats
      @dadhats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks man! it's actually half decent since it does have 1 way adjustable damping. but I will say it is still a lil bouncy and soft. once I upgrade to 200tw tires I'm going to have to make the switch to a more track capable coilover setup

    Nice driving. Have you been using the sim a lot? If you have has it been helping, or is real time on track the only way?

    • @dadhats
      @dadhats  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't had as much time on the sim as I'd like recently but I absolutely do believe in them. learning the layout of a track before going there irl is a massive benefit but in general I still think they're super helpful

    HERE'S TWO SECONDS: The two straight-entering bumps need to be treated with as much respect as a corner: in this case, don't keep your corner line, cuz you launch over them and have to lift/recover to _then_ assault the straight. Instead, clip the apex prior to the corner, hit that bump with an angle closer to the (eventual) straight-away, so you can carry MUCH more speed into the straight. (Love your vids, BTW!)

    • @dadhats
      @dadhats  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a visual learner I can't figure out what u mean hahah 😅 but appreciate it man!

    • @thomasmcginnis3783
      @thomasmcginnis3783 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dadhats You are well onto the straightaway before you apply real throttle, because of those bumps. How would you enter the straightaway if the whole thing were covered in ice? NO LATERAL G. Reset your prior apex, enter the straight already spooled up, gain 1 second per bump. No lateral G-forces. Covered in ice. How ya gonna do it? (Now go visualize. Thank me later.)
