As a historian I gotta say I love the choice of Comanche for the tribe we see; in the older days the Comanche were the dread of the pioneers, they were a death sentence to their enemies and perhaps one of the greatest obstacles towards westward expansion, by putting the predator up against them, it cements him as a real menace considering he’s basically taking on the best warriors the environmwnt had to offer
What's weird is that Comanche were sort of bullied and downtrodden for much of their history by other tribes, Mexicans and Americans. And then they went to war, and we fear their name to this day.
Comanche weren't renowned for their fierce warriors tho, but their proficiency in mounted light cavalry tactics. Fast moving targets that rapidly shoots lethal projectiles was a bad matchup for muskets at that time.

The second time we (the audience) gets to see how the Predator was able to triangulate Arnold's position and very nearly flash fries Arnold's head

This scene has a really good sense of rhythm to it, I noticed. A lot of the action works in tandem with the score, it’s almost got a Baby Driver sort of thing going on, if you know what I mean. Can’t lie, I’ll forever be a slut for that shit.

I love how absolutely brutal and savage this Predator is. Even by Yautja standards the Feral is a butcher, though still mostly honorable. I also like how this movie showcased that a species as physical powerful as the Yautja would also be ungodly fast as well. It makes the scene where Olivia Munn was keeping up with the Fugitive Predator while it was sprinting on the catwalks even more ridiculous.
The implication is that Yautja were less familiar with Earth during this time period. When the Predator arrives, he first kills a rattlesnake, then a wolf, then a bear, and then going after humans as the most dangerous prey.

I love this predators vibe overall, much less sophisticated in weaponry which is obviously a choice versus availability. Definitely much more of a melee fighter and purposely uses bare bones tech and is more about CQC. I noticed that he always matched his weaponry with the fights. He more or less used what he observed being used to keep it balanced. That being said, his honor went out the window with the fight with the brother...he was clearly not ready for the level of combat he was given, and underestimated his opponent. When shit got real, he bitched out and resorted to cloaking to secure the kill.

For example, the Feral exhibited the physical abilities to catch a rattlesnake in mid-strike (70 milliseconds), break a grizzly bear’s neck with a single punch, and defeat several armed men with firearms all on his own. He also pounced from tree to tree and displayed nearly the agility of Spider-Man throughout the film, but suddenly started fighting like a normal man in an 80 lb rubber suit when fighting Taabe. Another inconsistency in the predator hearing the dog’s bark from presumably a mile or two away when dissolving the skin of the wolf skull, yet Taabe can sneak up on him and knock his mask off from mere feet away while trotting on a horse? Not happening unless the writers deliberately weaken the predator. I loved the film overall but it definitely had points where the inconsistency bled through at some points.

I love the scene of brother trying to defend his sister charging like a badass on a horse while being wounded himself managing to seriously weaken the yautya. Original Predator and this prequel are my favourites.
You just had to go find the Predator didn’t you, Naru? You know….this movie was definitely great and had fantastic cinematography but the thing that bothers me is how everyone praises Naru for being so smart and standing up for herself but no one thinks to mention or recall how it was stupid of her to go off on her own to find the Predator. To go find something that while was extremely dangerous wasn’t even bothering her or her tribe and possibly wasn’t even aware of them until she came across it outside their territory. And as a result her tribesmen and brother had to go looking for her until they all ended up dead. If she had left things alone rather than trying to get everyone to believe her they all might’ve lived.

It's implied this particular Yautja comes from a clan that may have a different honor code. Similar to how not all Yautja clans do the Blooding Ritual or have a Young Blood rank, it makes sense some would have a different interpretation of the honor code or an entirely different code.
