DiabloSport i3 tuner and unlocked PCM install in my Durango SRT

- In this video I install a unlocked PCM from DiabloSport as we as a i3 programmer for loading tunes on my 2019 Dodge Durango SRT. This is legal to do in California as long as I don't load and keep a 3rd party custom tune. I am able to load a basic 91 tune from DiabloSport that is CARB compliant. There is also the Platinum version which "I will be testing" that will allow 3rd party tunes for the Durango from tuners like Jay Greene or HEMIFEVER. That will be for another video.

This will still work with the Tazer from ZAuto but you will need to use the security bypass that comes with the DiabloSport device instead of the one from ZAuto
I chose DiabloSport over HPTuners since I felt for my application that the DiabloSport was a lot more user friendly and also worked with Tuners that I plan on using for testing purposed only. HPTuners works great but is for more advanced tuning and really is for the DIY tuner that knows how to do their own tune.HPTuners credit system is also very confusing to understand as far as what you need to buy and what works with what. Its software if so complicated that some tuners like Jay Greene Charge $100 more just for a HPTuners tune compared to the DiabloSport one. SO it was a no brainer for me to pick DiabloSport for my needs.
You can also buy the Trinity 2 device as well for a little more money and that comes with a tablet like device that allows you to see more info at once and for logging. I don't need to see all that stuff for logging as I have my SRT performance pages on my Durango SRT.

Unfortunately since I was by myself doing it I couldnt hold a camera to film at the same time as you need both hands. Also couldnt use my hat cam as it would have been too dark, I tried to do what I could though!
Nice... I have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 5.7L. I was using the pedal commander until it failed..Looking at getting the Diablo. I put in Corsa exhaust and air intake kit... just looking for a snappy throttle response which the commander did.
Try buy sprint booster !!! Under 300$ a lot of fun I use this on bmw x6m Mercedes’ gla 250 no programming needed but throttle response great
I have 2016 Ram 1500 Hemi 8speed and I ordered I3 from Dioblo in hopes to tune my truck because I did a Cam(stage 1) swap, hemi lifters, MDS delete, Cold air intake, long tube headers with flow master muffler w Cat delete, and upgraded injectors from injector clinic and obviously the truck runs like shit......lol.......I have updated I3 tuner and am about to swap out the unlocked PCM that I also received. I am trying to figure out does the I3 have tunes that will appear once connected to my vehicle or what.......???
yes it will have "canned tunes" or preset tunes depending on what vehicle it detects
Did you figure out a way to run
security by pass for tazer and diablo at same time? Or does diablo bypass also allow tazer to work
sorry for the late reply... The security bypass from the tazer does NOT work with Diablo, but the bypass that Diablo gives you does work for both so Im just using that now!
Is it really worth spending the money? How much gain can you get on a N/A vehicle? Curious to see your thoughts / results on future videos.
I was told by Jay Greene a custom tune on a stock R/T for 91-93 octane would be 30-35HP. This is going to be my next mod as well. I have a stock 16 R/T and will be dynoing the diablo can tune and the jay greene tune to see what power it puts down. Nice video
@@ZacWade I’m glad you have access to a AWD dyno. There’s none around me within 90 miles. I’m just going to be using my draggy and compare stock times to the different canned tunes and then the Jay Greene tune to see the difference
@midwest motorsports we shall see once I do testing with my draggy. I’ve been told to expect 50hp and then the trans tune will then optimize that power even better

I have custom tune with unlocked pcm on my 19 DDRT, can I just buy the Diablo Tuner, or will i have to order the whole setup pcm included?
You can just order the tuner device by itself
I just installed mines n my 19 r/t, with Gas prices going up not sure If I really want to upload the 93 mod, but how do I go about getting a Jay Green mod?
ya at this point with gas prices its really up to you with what tune you want to run. 91 is going to be what it is now but for my other tunes I loaded up on boostane for my 93 and 100 tunes so Im not paying anymore for that, just paying more for the gas itself. Really up to you. Ive been running 91 the last 2-3 weeks just give a break from my octane booster as I ran 100 prior and 93 from there so ya with prices 91 has been fine for me. What was the power /time gain...
Depends on what tune I use. Diablo 91 tune you gain maybe 15hp and 1-2 tenths off your 0-60. Jay Greene tune goes just a bit more than that but the transmission tune is where the power difference is felt the most. 100 octane Jay feeen tune I got sun 4 second 0-60 and 12.2 1/4 mile

Will this take the speed limiter off my durnago rt 2019
Yes it absolutely will. The software allows for you to remove it along with the MDS system if you have that and shift points etc.
@@MattySRT I just have the tuner.. do I need more than the tuner for just removing the limiter? I just wanna be able to take her to the track and see how fast she goes
@@loon3yloc174 Nope, I am pretty sure that just the tuner itself should be fine. I remember seeing a setting on there by default that allows you to remove the speed limiter and/or modify that number. Ill have to play around with it myself to see all the different options that Diablo put in there. I had just loaded my Jay Greene Tune and left it as such.
