    I know it’s probably a little late but that switch you showed at the clutch, that’s the cruise control switch. There is another one on the firewall that gets pressed when your pedal goes to the ground, that’s the clutch ignition safety switch

    Great video. Ended up not being my problem. For anyone else looking, i found corrosion on the starter solenoid activate nut, and main power wire to starter. Took it all apart, cleaned them all to a polish, then coated it all with die electeic grease. Good as new

    I tested the first fuse you showed, and when i turn the key I'm getting power there, however is supposed to go to the safety switch next, and that's my issue, I'm not getting any power to the safety switch so no power to big fuse box after > and no power to starter.

    I have a 12 model mustang which seems to have the clutch safety switch bypassed, It is not bypassed at the switch connector wires though , where should I look to undo the bypass? I want the switch functional as a tire tech just started my car in gear and drove it into a wall.

    • @jasmats
      @jasmats 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The switch itself is not stuck either, vehicle starts with switch disconnected. I'm at a loss. I will check both starter relays to see if they are tampered with.

    Hey i may be a little late but im having an intermittent issue with my 4.0 v6 automatic, fuse 21 that is a 10amp in the passenger fuse box keeps blowing on me randomly and ive had to jump the relay to get my car running for work and i wanna know where to check and if my neutral safety switch could cause a short to ground to that fuse itself. Thanks

    • @jimmymeza8478
      @jimmymeza8478 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i dont know if this would help anyone with a similar situation but i went ahead and went through oem diag procedure from ford on prodemand and after performing testing at the battery to starter, then testing the electrical distribution center and in this case i drive an automatic so ford stated to test for resistance at the pnk/wht circuit from the fuse box to the transmission range sensor and when i routed my test lead down the driver side of the motor to backprobe the transmission range sensor connector it tapped the bellhousing and i was getting resistance in which i should not have gotten any reading at all and i looked at the harness and i saw a portion of the harness exposed from chafing on the passenger side head on that sharp edge from my negligence of routing the engine harness when i rebuilt the motor, and with vibrations overtime exposed the wire and touched the head thus shorted the fuse in the smart junction box in the cabin. i hope this could help.

    Just a quick question. Yesterday I drove my car two hours and went into a mall to grab something to eat. I came out 10 minutes later and all my car did was click. Luckily I was parked on a slope and rolled it and jump started it. I went to a auto parts store to get a new battery. Parked on a slope. Stopped the car. But then thought, what the heck. I'll try starting the car again. I had lots of starting power and had no problems for the rest of the day. I have had this problem twice this year. The shop says they tested the battery and alternator and they are good. Would what you described in your video mimc this problem?

    I was checking continuity on my big fuse box for the starter trigger location on the relay, on the actual harness where the pin plugs into with the connector there's not actually a wire/pin there, I'm super confused how there's supposed to be a starter trigger to the relay if the wire is non existent. To clarify I'm talking about location 85 on the relay itself. It doesn't have a wire to plug into.

    Hey! Your videos are very informative. It's difficult to find information. I have a 12v draw that disappears when I pull fuse 42. That fuse is supposed to be activated by the ignition turned on according to one thread but I'm not sure that can lead me to the issue. Most likely wiring.
