Covid was an absolute joke I'm not after people feeling sorry for me but the lock downs I almost didn't make it with how it effected my mental health living on my own....so glad that is behind us now it was crazy times....I remember this project, was one of the TH-cam channels that helped me through a difficult time....seeing Scotty's face each week still plotting along trying to deliver something I guess you should know probably helped a lot of people through the lock downs...so now this wagon means something to me too.
Covid ruined my life. Ruined my business, which put extreme stress on my home life and ruined my relationship and I wasn’t able to see my dying father until he’s last days when he didn’t really know what was happening. The word lockdown really gives me the cold sweats. A lot of people got it worse and didn’t make it through, I count myself lucky because I’m still here

A lot of prep time on the body Scotty and I can see your vision in this. I hope you show everyone where you source the parts & trim from as Chrysler parts/trim aren't easy to find these days. The finished product will speak for itself with all the hours of toil you put into it.
just become a patron member. i want to see this wagon done. remembering during covid wait for the episode to drop. watch you work on this been waiting for its return.
426 with a pair of 80mm turbos? Yeah, That'd be a SPICY motor Heck, even leaving it a 361 with a turbo or two will make for a fun street/strip car. It is good to see you getting back into the Lockdown wagon, I kinda missed that series, through all it's highs and lows (darn lockdown making everything rough)
Would love to end up seeing this old girl resprayed the same orange, blown and twin carbs out the bonnet, nice old school street machine. Love ya work Scotty, keep it up mate
Until you mentioned the cracked chassis rail, I had completely forgotten that the VH Sedan dad bought real cheap had a crack in it and dad had to repair it. From memory when he got it had 2 x 13" wheels on it and 2 x 14" wheels. Other than a couple of broken door handles it was a real solid car and dad drove it for several years before it got retired to the paddock for my brother and I to thrash it around playing Dukes Of Hazard in it.
That's the model I learnt to drive on 160hp . My Dad would have bought it New. We went every where in it . Great car. I'll send you some pics if I can find them.
bit overpriced for what it is , quality gone to the shi-ta my small wratchet broke within a few months , the 10 dollar one i replaced it with is still going strong
Loving this, i have a soft spot for wagons, and I myself have a lockdown wagon (i purchased just before lockdown) only shes a 75 XB, but she needs a lot of work too.
ive got to say scotty i bloody love seeing these more laid back video content with a down to earth bloke that tells a few good ol stories! mate keep it up again loving the content mate :)
Love it Scotty, was enjoying the build series on it during covid so am happy to see it coming back again. The Hemi would be great being an old school classic with a modern drive train and I hope someone comes on board with some sponsorship or support and you can do the Hemi but the big block isn’t a bad option either.
RustOleum stuff was pretty handy and fairly good when it came to pressure pak cans so it's be grouse to see them back on the channel again :-) Stroker small block at 426 ci YUSSSSSS and even as an NA setup she'd give the A body longroof some pep, I cant even imaging what forced induction would look like down the 1/4 LOL Be a torque monster!
Looking forward to seeing how this project evolves. Don’t feel like you have to rush mate, it takes as long as it takes to do it right 👍Personally, I like a slow burn as we get to see the highs and the lows. Think Home Built by Jeff, BCW, Rennch, or even Binky (but don’t be THAT slow 😂)
Scotty: "Tell me I'm crazy" Scotty, you are crazy, but I'm totally here for it. I love your vision for the car and I'm a big fan of the car itself. Genuinely cannot wait to see what you'll do with it and see how it goes. Very excited on your behalf and very much looking forward to living vicariously through you on this haha.
Ok. Two ways this build could go. If you go the big block route, build into a classic hot rod/street machine. But if Street Machine say you can have that other motor, use that, and resto mod it. Keep the outside looking original, but totally modernise underneath. That includes the interior. The whole hog. It'll be a first for one of those.
I'm glad to see the safari making a comeback! The big block from your dads ute would be great in the wagon as a 426! That's if SM dont let you slip the hemi in there haha. The sheds looking the goods too mate!
Looking forward to seeing this progress Hope that street machine can be generous an collaborate with you and give you the late model hemi Or another sponsor steps up and takes the wagon to what you originally planned
Love the plans Scotty. +1 for the big block stroker. What colour are you thinking of painting it? I know it's a long way off but a mans gotta dream right? ;)
Hi Scotty , great vid mate. If you're interested i have 2 original 160hp badges you can have . It may help disguise the wagon.........Looking forward to the build.
Or the cheaper option for the big block is bore it to 4.250 and use 383 chrysler off the shelf pistons (KB400 domed) with your factory rods, a boosted 383 will be decent, the stroker option is going into $$$$ oblivion due to the custom piston/rod required. as far as I know there isn't an "off the shelf" kit available for a 361 like there is for the popular 440/400 block options. Just my 2 cents worth Scott, you can paint it pink, hang ribbons off it and call it fluffy for all I care..... but I'll still be watching and following. I enjoy the "In the shed at home" aspect of your content because it relates more to "povo cnuts" like me 🤪. keep at it
Not a big fan of doing strokers in short deck blocks. The rod angles get a bit high for my liking. You could always do a 4.25" piston with the crank you have for a revver. Maybe throw a cheap turbo on it depending on what's left in the cylinder walls?
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering we'll measure the wall thickness before doing anything, but I don't think a 3.75in stroke would be too bad. Not like those 4.15in stroker cranks
@@blownhemi remember if you are going to add boost cubic inches aren't as important. Big rod angle plus boost can easily equal bent rods, especially if they are old stock rods. I'd stay conservative, but that is just me (says the guy who was running 30+ psi on an SR20)
It makes sense to do the 6.4lt hemi swap, even if S/M keeps title on the engine itself. It would be a shame to have done the homework and bought the conversion parts only to abandon it.
