Hey Scotty , I have a complete Volvo in the same colour , completely stock and manual with push button over drive . Hasn’t ran in over 15 years. Has damage to left rear quarter. It’s yours if you want it 👌🏽 Cheers Uncle Brent
Good move on excluding LS and Barra! I agree, far too common and done to death. I'm liking the AU VCT motor idea personally. Would be good to see this thing going quick again (and hopefully we can run side-by-side 9's at Heathcote...)
Big Block Chevy!! I saw one in the States a good few years back, it was a complete sleeper! The owner said the motor went in with no cutting, just about!!
Remember summernats and getting a photo with scotty and the Trolvo. Was a very bushfire smokey shit of a day...... my vote is 1000hp+ Intech or 250 xflow
I know I'm not a patreon, but I'd stick with the 1/2JZ, finish what was started, already got a UZ in the lexcen in the carnage garage, no point doing the same thing twice
I had a 240 the same colour, unfortunately no electric sunroof. The 200 series was originally designed for a V8 so it makes sense... It's already had a straight 6 in it. I'd go for the UZ personally. I had one with an 8 in it and it was a ripper of a car.
Installing a V8 is definitely the way to go. 3UZ's are great engines capable of good HP & sound good too but I'd like to see a Holden 355 or 383 stroker but, if not, then a Toyota V8. The Trolvo (perfect name for it BTW) build is what initially got me over to Carnage & I watched it evolve & it's been my fave build on the channel so I'm glad that it's hangin' around.
So glad to see this in your hands, was by far my favourite carnage car. I know people only seem to give views to Holden or Ford stuff but to me this is the Trolvo and it was known for going quick with a JZ as it’s heart so to put anything else in it wouldn’t do it justice. Please go one step further than it was before and build that 2JZ it was dying for and resurrect the Trolvo legacy.
Scotty, you have a great starter to work on mate. I loved the Trolvo as it always gave the finger to other cars. A mate of mine had a '78 2dr 200 Series Volvo & we put in a 13B-REW Rotary to replace the tired Volvo 4cyl. That thing flew around the streets giving V8's the finger. It was a very solid car & he had that for several years until a car went through a set of red lights & wrote it off. Yes it went through a shit ton of fuel but it gave you smiles every time you got in it. I think you have a 2UZ-FE in mind but to be honest, but I think you should do a budget drag car that gives hope to others who want to get into the scene & learn.
Your three options there are all great ideas in their own right. Regards the 1UZ...there's a bloke kicking around in a silver 242GT coupe with a 1UZ in it and that fit and finish of the engine bay is simply superb! Be worth picking his brain if you can find him and if you decide to go that route. Another possibility would be the 2.5 5 Cyl Turbo out of a Ford Focus XR5. I think from memory it is derived from a Volvo engine? Be cool way to keep it Volvo driveline...ish...rather than Toyota. Just another idea. Keep up the good work!
As I'm watching this, you're in the middle of the 12 for 12 with the AU so it sounds like you have the motor (if it's solid) and the new diff. Look forward to the outcome of both.
Ah Scotty its good to see the OVLOV back. As for engine choice? the "Intech SOHC 4.0L" sounds however its a long stroke with tall deck heigh, I know your only going in a straight line but yeah. The Yamaha V8 out of an XC90 sounds super intriguing, a nice short stroke 4.4L 32 valve chain driven V8, problem is no one has done anything with that engine in terms of turbo option and the Supercar (Garry Rogers Motorsport) stroked it out to 5.0L capacity in NA form, so getting stuff you want for it might end up being costly when you consider what else you have to spend on it to get it rolling again. Another option is a Ford/Volvo 2.5L 5cyl, you should be able to find (don't know what the engine code is) one in the wreckers yards out of an Mondeo XR5 or even Ford Kuga (TE 2012 build date), got no idea if they can be bolted up to a GM TH400 auto but yeah that engine would be unique 20-valve 5cyl and they are already turbo charged so can take bigger flow options.
Love the old 240 series Volvos. Have a 1982 244 in the garage, totally stock original 2.1L Red block carb motor with the three speed auto. Not as fast as yours Scotty, (well it is at the moment lol) Looking forward to what your intentions are with the old Trolvo
As many other have said, I'm going to throw my hat in and say yeah, go the InTech engine...would be crazy to see, especially since the top commenter (Troy-l7p) is offering to donate one to you. Seems like an absolute no brainer. Love your work Scotty!! Can't wait to see what you'll do with it!
I reckon some sort of old school carby v8, filter through the bonnet or bug catcher for extra awesomeness. Looking forward to it. Youll have to make some Scottys Garage Trolvo stickers, can go beside me lockdown wagon one on the toolbox. Cheers.
I second a au intech/vct motor, best sounding motor. If the budget to do a turbo build for it itd be so cool. Or even a boss motor if theyd fit not many crazy build of them are popular but have decent support parts wise
Can't go wrong with the Intech those engines were virtually indestructible it would be awesome to see a 1000HP Intech in the Trolvo. I look forward to what your patreons choose.
I like the different engine combos personally, a dirt cheap turbo big block if you can get an industrial Gen 6 7.4L fuel injected roller cam motor, they were in big trucks, pumps, generators, ect
Vr5,vr6 VW,Audi engines...makes heaps of HP on boost, sound crazy,cheap,small..common,different ltrs of capacity Or 1.8T Audi engine..capable of crazy HP reasonably stock
The Volvo 24 valve I6 sould be on your list. There are folks in Sweden making 1000hp to the rear wheels here in Scandinavia on that bullet. Edit: Did not expect you to consider this engine @28:45
for memory carnage started all in your garage with the barina mx5 turbo taxi and trolvo even the orange wagon started in the shed on carnage till you got the workshop i do miss those days but you couldnt fit a hoist lift in your shed. now as for engines i know a 302 winsdor fits in the bay but buy a complete car and use the diff housing and a beefed up 4 speed btr transmission
Uz or intech 6 are the best budget build options and are still capable of reaching good power figures 💪 so be cool to see what you end up running... can't wait 😅
Flat plane crank DOHC 4 valve 335 Chev with centrifugal charger. It would need light rods but you could give it independent rear suspension for vibration dampening. It would be a literal scream😎
I know my vote doesnt count, but the intech is stout. I cant imagine the 2 valves being an issue, but it is 1000hp Hackshop are going to be building one up for the fairlane at some point
Hey Scotty been watching from the start, good job, Aussie entertainment.. Got a early 2000s Korando in my shed that looks to have potential. 3.2 twin cam Mercedes, Borg Warner running gear. Must be plentiful in wreckers. Big horsepower in Europe? Molvo maybe?
All 3 engines have something good about them. Not sure how much of a head fork the 1UZ would be, but that would something different and sound good too.
intech , i can donate a AU fairlane vct intech motor with 200k on it, it was the engine from my fathers car he loved it
Big turbo intech would be sick
Mate go the intech thats my vote😅
As a holden person, I'd go the intech,.
SOHC I6 Scotty - sound awesome full noise!!
I’d love to see a big turbo intech build please Scotty ! Not many people doing it properly out there atm and would love to see how far they can go
Haven't seen you do an RB25 yet, but intech 1000 HP build would be entertaining
Hey Scotty , I have a complete Volvo in the same colour , completely stock and manual with push button over drive .
Hasn’t ran in over 15 years.

It’s yours if you want it 👌🏽

How much do you want for it?
what a legend!!! 👍

Great to see some trolvo content. One of my favourite builds of all time on TH-cam. What a Frankenstein of a build, and what a un-aerodynamic weapon.
I know I'm not a patreon, but I'd stick with the 1/2JZ, finish what was started, already got a UZ in the lexcen in the carnage garage, no point doing the same thing twice
I've done the JZ twice, but if the vote go for 1UZ, I'll do it
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Scotty to you & the family
scotty!! how about swapping in a 1FZ-FE
Big block jz business. Stonkin amounts of torque.
Put another garage ornament in it the mighty GMH 186 cu piece of cast iron.
intech all the way Scotty ... 👍
intech would be sick
Cant wait for the Trolvo Merch. I have been waiting a long time for Trolvo Merch, the Turbo Brick has been one of my most favourite cars 😄

Scotty, you're a great storyteller mate. Long Live ScottysGarage!
Intech 6, you've done the jz and the uz, look forward to seeing the build and the outcomes
5 cylinder out of the early audis or focus ? big turbo e85
Ironically the 5cyl focus engine is a volvo engine 😂
Up the INTECH!!!!!!

Yes, love the SOHC idea Scotty
So happy to see the Trolvo back.
Either an intech 6 motor or or a 6.4 hemi if it fits, but definitely a turbo intech

I find your stories are very interesting, full of great content,no rambling on about any part of the story, just tell it from start to finish👌
Glad you like them!
A nice 351 Cleveland or even a Clevor/Boss 302 would be cool, with a bit of NOS or a side mount supercharger
@bop351 Unfortunately, the factory Ford blocks will struggle at 1000hp
Intec would be my vote 💪🏻
Just for brainstorming i'd like to throw in the BMW inline 6 engines, like f.e. the N54..
Happy to see the intech as well though.

Grab a front cut of an SRT HEMI 300c or the SRT Jeep...
Or 400 small block twin turbo.
My second favorite Carnage car right after the Barina (😂😂) so happy to get to see more of it
Scotty what about the Ford/Volvo 5 cylinder engine out of the XR5/C30. Might not get 1000hp and 8 sec pass but at least it’d sound and go hard
The BB Barina was cool AF. Over here in the UK it was common to find the C20XE in the Corsa B. (Holden Barina) not so much now.
Intech! I’m turbo charging my AU XR6 and I will be building the motor myself. I would love to see you build one!
I would go the intech...... Could always do a Holden 304 or the mighty Winsor 302
