    I've owned a few different 600cc and 1000cc motorcycles in my time riding. In a previous video, I talked about the reasons why a 600cc motorcycle is better than a 1000cc (or at least which one you should get. We all know which one is faster!). But what about the other way around? In this video, let's look at why you should pass up that 600 and buy a liter bike.

      The most reasonable reason is the torque which is available across all the rev range. Another reason is that if you travel two up, the torque is way better.

    My 2019 zx-6r does just fine as far as speed goes. I'd like to have a 1000cc exotic bike like a Ducati or s1000rr but more for looks and tech than top speed. I don't really race people on public highways. I've got too much to live for. I just like the sounds and doing quick pulls on straights. the 636 is perfect for the way I ride. I tested the 636 and the zx10 and the 636 sits higher. zx10 was lower to the ground. I really went with the 636 because they sold it to me for $8500 whereas the zx10r was 12000 for the 2019

    Wind the tension out a little on your clutch lever. You will find neutral easier. My friend had a RSV4 and always complained about a tricky neutral. Literally just took some tension off the lever. Fixed it.

  • @bernhtp

    Neutral hint (from the other guy in Austin with a Brentuned 2020 RR): Don't wait until you get to a full stop; rather when coming to a stop shift down from 2 (or up from 1) into N when doing 5-10 mph. This is the easiest and most reliable way.
    Another trick when you find yourself fully stopped and fail to find neutral after a try or two: Give the transmission a bit of load for half a second by letting out the clutch a little bit (use brake and a hair of throttle), and then try neutral again. You'll now likely get it within a try or two (from either 1 or 2).

    The biggest thing that surprised me, stepping off a Suzuki GSX-R *750* K6 on a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K5 (which ergonomically are pretty similar)
    is the fact that, on the 750, I could ride for about 3 hours straight and was DONE! Tired, numb, sore, I had enough for the day
    On the 1000, I went for a ride, and ended up home *7 hours later* _and only because sun was setting and I had my dark visor mounted_
    I could probably have continued a few hours more if it wasn't for that, even saddle soreness was a matter of simply changing position a little
    And it's a constant, I can simply ride longer, more comfortably on the 1K
    Now the 1K is a tad wider, and the tank a bit higher, about 10lbs heavier(some of it is higher fuel capacity), 190 instead of 180 tire, but that's about it
    Seating position, stretch over the clipons is pretty much the same
    But what factors in a lot, is the low end torque, it isn't as exhausting as that of the 750, which you have to rev at least 2K rpm higher (and more when overtaking)
    It numbs the limbs less, you got more initial grunt helping you through the curves, so you're pulling the bars less and there's less need to change gears
    ...and that's not even discussing the power,... TEH POWAH!!1!!
    I swear this thing is trying to kill me and I don't even MIND 🤣

    I get triggered everytime when people say hayabusa or zx14 is a climp up from 1000cc superbike. They're not! They was 10 years ago but now they slower than any modern superbike. I own 2014 zx14 and 2017 r1 and my r1 is straight up faster and got snappier throttle and overall much more radical in everyway. Yes zx14 is still very fast bike and it's good all around bike but as far as only performance goes it's just obsolete, it got 200HP which all modern superbikes got 200+ and weight much lasser and higher and faster reving engines.

    The biggest reason to get a 1000 is the new technology and improvements they put into them. The 600 market is dead and manufacturers know it. That's why every year the 600s only get a minor refresh; no new chassis, engine ect. Same reason why you'll never see a 600 supersport from BMW, no point in spending all that development money for a bike that wont sell.

    Most prefer the sound of an Aprilia V4 literbike, then the R1, then other inline 4s. The V-twins sound very good when engine braking at 20 mph. It is mostly about costs and reliability, and what you like the looks of and how sitting on it feels to you. I have a 600cc inline 4 and a 600cc V-twin. The V-twin is better from 0 to 60 mph, and the inline 4 is better above 60 mph and for longer trips.

    Hey Moto, quick question for ya, brother. Did you recently change anything in post production/video editing, or add a polarized lens or such to your GoPro? Reason I'm asking is that I keep seeing slightly odd/unnatural colors at times in your videos. Like sometimes the ground looks almost green/turquoise in some areas (like at 8:57 when you're overtaking the dark gray truck) and at other times the sky looks green'ish into purple'ish (like at 1:32).
    Let me just point out that I am by no means complaining - I think it looks cool as hell, sort of like how they use different filters and shit for Top Gear segments. I'm just curious if you changed something recently, because I don't recall seeing it a few months ago.

    • @InsanitySep
      @InsanitySep 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Looks like a combination of polarization / ND filter + LUT in post on the video that is a bit sensitive or overdone. Although I think that Moto gets an amazing quality out of the gopro, almost unseen anywhere else in the motovlog scene.

    • @mannydcbianco
      @mannydcbianco 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      InsanitySep Agreed completely, his videos look great. And his videos do not have the dreaded TH-cam macroblocking every five seconds that many uploaders deal with in their eagerness to upload in too high resolution, too high bitrate of too high framerate. Every five seconds, exactly five seconds, the video will get significantly pixelated for half a second before going back to normal. None of that in moto's videos.

    My very first road bike I ever had was a 2004 Suzuki GSXR 1000 with 13,000 miles on it truly amazing you have to have alot of responsibility and really know your surroundings however my experience on really fast machines started early and I've always been confident in my ridding abilities that being said I always always ALWAYS road with all my gear ridding boots, ridding gloves, ridding pants, and sport bike Jacket I was 30 when I got the bike and to this day I've never had as much fun in a summer on that bike then any other 600 or 750 they ride so smooth compared to the smaller CC bikes also you don't have to work the bike as hard you just go I rode everywhere on that bike by the end of the summer into fall season when I sold it the bike had 19,000 miles one very important view I never ever put my self in a situation where someone could run me off the road and always respected the machine for what it was and it's capabilities! Someone once told me this the 600cc sport bike sound fast but the 1000cc inline 4 cylinder's are fast really fast. Oh and I didn't sell the bike cause I didn't like it anymore or that I had a close call I sold it cause my wife and I have 6 children and me having a sport bike of any cc was a variable and I wanted to be somewhat responsible. Ride safe God bless and try to make wise decisions when ridding these exhilarating monsters! It only takes 1 mess up and your done or badly injured stay safe dudes!

Ive been getting comfortable and more confident each time I ride it. However, if I were to jump to a 1000cc as my next bike, I think it would be too much for me. I'm only 5'7" and 170 lbs. I don't do much highway riding and it would be alot of bike for around town and cruising thru the twisties.

But honestly you don’t feel much difference between the modes, it’s mainly for throttle control.. but no I had ZERO issues starting on a 600. The bike will only go as fast as you let it. If you have self control & are mature enough to know your limits you won’t have any issues starting on a 600 🤙🏼

I'm pretty curtain i would be mature enough to take my time on these bikes, i turn 40 next year & drive a sports car now that can break the speed limit quite quickly but i drive it 80% normally most of the time, i like the look & sound of it more than the speed to be honest & i think it would be the same with bikes. I was just stating that because i heard Motonosity changing gears and stop at 100mph I was wondering that with one gear you can hit 100. The video of hammy is blessed to be alive it was crazy how he slide thru the semi truck.

      My 2018 ZX10R hits 104 in 1st. Modern litre bikes are nuts.

    I have ridden a r3 since it's been produced. Sold it 2 weeks ago and bought a 07 Hayabusa. Never going back! A new member in the liter bike family 😁

    Great video.
    Good points.
    I find the extra power as a safety measure in case u want to accelerate to dodge something!
