Love your aqua machine, the aqua nails, and oh yeh... the aqua cupboard.... Think there may be a theme here? lol. I'm so impressed with your organization. Lots of good help there. Thanks for all your great tips.
Your video is the 3rd one I watched on how to do this block. The way you broke it down makes so much more sense than anyone else’s instructions. Thanks so much.
Miss Holt, wondering if this could be made QAYG? I only have a domestic and have been experimenting with QAYG, sure would like to tackle this if I could! Thank you!
This was the first video I watched Lori actually sew. And I absolutely love that she does not have a fancy new computerized sewing machine. I always feel so left behind, watching videos with the automatic back stitch and thread cutter, or all the other fancy gizmos. But if Lori can do it without all the bells and whistles, maybe I can too!
Thank you!! You certainly can do it:) I love to use my featherweight for piecing...it just has a straight stitch which is all you need for that. When I do machine quilting or need a “fancy” stitch I use my Bernina ❤️
Beautiful quilts were made by hand and treadle machines you can make quilts anyway you like that’s what’s so awesome about it. It was always a case of make do with what you had. I read somewhere a feedsack company that made flour found out women were using the sacks to make clothes. So they started making them with pretty prints which is where we get the gorgeous 1930s prints we all love. 💕 log cabins were used to show signals quilt history is very interesting good luck with it. Hand work is very therapeutic if you want to give it a go. Just a needle and thread and 1/4 inch ruler plus fabric and pencil is all you need
Your video is so helpful! I am cleaning out my grown daughter's sewing scrap stash. When she was 12-16, she sewed bonnets for our living history farm - sooo, I have lots of scrap materials. I have never quilted...but I 'think" I can! This quilt pattern is amazing...thank you for sharing!
All quilters have their own styles though they may use blocks that have existed for years. I like watching various quilters as I get to see different quilts which are of great quality and beauty. Lori Holt has her own style too and I like the quilt she makes. This new video channel is going to be great too.
Hello from Maine. Lori, I remember several years back going to a large fair in New Hampshire with a DIL, whom I had taught how to quilt. There happened to be several quilts made which I remember as being reminiscent of your Farm Girl quilts. Each had their own delightful personalized touches. We lingered there awhile and just enjoyed. Several days ago I saw the #13 video in your series pop up which I watched because I love log cabin blocks. I absolutely loved the video . Since I’m a retired registered nurse and quite organized I have a similar system as yours but tailored to my smaller space. Happy I finally came up with one that works well for my but I always seen to come up with a nugget or two from watching other quilters. I made 2 design bards for myself but really love your finishing touch around the edges, just need to get some rubber fingers before tackling that project. (and never knew about silicon fingers before your video). I loved #13 so much that I’m going to enjoy the entire series as I’m a dedicated scrap quilter. I enjoy an occasional jelly roll but my main love affaire is scrap quilts. Think I got it from sleeping under my Grandma Knowles quilts in the unheated 2nd floor of their farmhouse. One of my favorite memories. And she belonged to the grange so I was able to visit and help her in the days leading up their small town yearly fair. I thank you for your time and your passion for quilting. I know it takes time to prepare and publish videos and I for one am truly appreciative. Love from Maine.
I've been sewing for 37 years, but I'm new to quilting. In ONE video you taught me more than I learned in a 6 week quilting class! LOVE THIS SO MUCH !❤
I used to quilt quite a lot,but stopped several years ago,but now you've inspired me to pick it back up,and i've always loved scrappy quilts.I have a ton of fabrics here as i worked in a quilt store for over 10 years before i retired. Now if there's any way you can add more hours to my day,i'd sure appreciate that.LOL.That quilt is going to be beautiful, and i love the way you organize everything.Great video..Thank You.
I am very much a novice quilter and just made this block, it's my first ever quilt block so I am quite proud. Although it has MANY MANY faults I know learning has taken place and I will keep practising before I dare to use any of my new Lori Holt fabric! Now I need a little fabric roller in my life for the seams!!!
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved this video! From your scrappy storage techniques to piecing the block with your tips- it was so inspirational! Looking forward to this series!! Many thanks!
Nice! Not too little not too much talking--just right, and all informative. Your subtle marketing that is imbedded in this one little vlog is very amazing. Good work!
It's so wonderful to see how you set things up, and how you organize your stash....everything you do is just so clever!!! I just love the Scrappy Crossroads Block...it reminds me of quilts my Granny used to make, she always loved the four patch and it was the very first thing she taught me. This series is going to be such fun!! Thank You, Lori!!!
I have enjoyed all of your sew your stash videos. Thank you for showing us how to make these blocks. I eagerly come home from work eager to try each block. This one is next. I guess you can tell I didn’t watch the videos in order. Thank you. I’ve learn a lot.
I am 86 and ' thought I knew everything' WHY did it take so long to find YOU I am so glad that I did will look at every thing that you have done thanks Joanie White
Hello from Brazil! Even I have not so good English, I am beem able to understand and LOVING YOUR WORK! How much I lerned with only one video! Thanks and kisses!
Love that you are using a Singer Featherweight! I have 10 of them and use the exclusivily for eveything I sew. This block is my next project. Thanks for the Tutorial!
Oh to have Lori's closet and skills! I'd settle to just be as easy going and laid-back as she is. I seem to always be rushed and anxious lol... #life goals=be like Lori!
Thank you so much Lori! I love this block - and I know that with all my scraps I can make a beautiful project. It's so much fun to watch your tutorials! All the pretty colors, doo-dads - colorful featherweight! You just make it all so much fun! Thank you! Patti
So happy about your You tube channel...... This will definitely be one of my favorites to watch......Thanks for keeping it short and simple. Although we love to hear about the lives of all the you tubers we are here for the quilt information. You have a very calming voice and I love the interaction between you and Kimberly. I hope you two can get together soon. Stay safe and healthy. Hugs from Minnesota
Kathy Guenther I agree and I love Lori’s work. I also watch Karen at Just Get it Done channel. Great tips and her more recent videos are straight to the point (not so much her early ones 😬)
As a self taught gal, (2 years) you and your books have made me excited to finish a project. First time ever! Thank you for your wonderful instructions and inspiration. You make my gloomy days sunny ❤
I don't have a big stash, but I do have a small one. I am going to have to work on that! I love your fabrics, and ideas, and I am looking forward to watching all of your videos. Thank you. I am also going to make some small,, and one big, design board.
I love the organization scrappy quilt blocks. I would never think of going natural linen color. It does look great but does not pull away from the colors in the other fabric
You have the best scraps, of course, it’s your fabrics!! Love your videos. You are so inspiring. Thank you and looking forward to more of your videos.💕❤️🌻❤️💕
Glad to see you on YT. I will be here any time you are. I did not know there is a 2 n half inch ruler, will be getting that for sure. Look forward to your scrap stash, and how you do it. Like your new sewing room. Stay Safe till we meet again on YT
I am going through the series now and have been greatly inspired by your creativity and your sewing room. Have you thought about doing a scrappy sampler quilt of all your tutorials that have been shown in the stash series? Thanks again for sharing all your knowledge, you are a gifted teacher. Makes quilting seam so doable for anyone.
Thank you for making this video and showing us your scrap storage system! It has inspired me to implement the same system, which I can tell is very efficient and minimizes wastage. I also really appreciate you showing us your work space setup and sewing techniques using a camera angle that allows me to see things being done from the sewer's viewpoint/perspective. (i.e facing their machine and projects). I love that you were able to demonstrate your workspace setup - designed incredibly well to maximize the amount of piecing, ironing, HST and folded corners done per unit time. It is so much faster without having to get out of your sewing chair to iron, trim, etc. Just doing this alone would triple my speed. I'm looking forward to your future tips and tricks in upcoming videos! Thank you again for your generosity in taking the time to do make these tutorial videos. I know that I and other viewers will gain very useful knowledge and skills as we view each one!
I'm so excited that you are doing this series. I love simple old fashion quilts. I'm making the design boards and some for my quilting buddy she'll love them.
I had several fat quarters I wanted to use up but lacked the proper pattern for them. I tried them in one and they just didn't work. When I came across this pattern it was GOLD! I've been working in it this weekend for a summer picnic quilt for my little grandchildren, 6, 4, and 1. They'll be over in the morning to see if the size needs to be added to or just completed. I've made it five by five blocks plus borders. Thank you for sharing this pattern!
Lori, please adopt me!😉. So happy I found your channel! I LOVE vintage, and I love the easy in which you demonstrate. I feel I can “almost” go pin free! Thank you!
Love this series and the block is really darling. I can truly see the use of the project boards. I use them in cross stitch but I will either make or buy some bigger ones, these videos are great. Thank you for sharing. I love the music and the different colored featherweights and your organization.
Love that you joined you tube. As a beginner quilter, this tutorial is wonderful. You have a beautiful teaching style and I can't wait to make the block. Thank you!

Just watched your string quilt tutorial and loved it now just saw this one and another darling colored sewing machine. Cant wait to watch my third of your videos to see what color is next.... lol Love them and you videos.
Hank you Lori, your videos are great. I've recently started sewing blankets n find you've been a great help. I did three blocks using the strip method and I'm so happy with results. Really glad I found you on the tube. Again, thanks for the instruction videos.
From the fun music to the gorgeous array of colors, I had a smile on my face the whole time watching this. COVID knocked me down for awhile but you’ve inspired me to get back to doing what makes my heart happy. Thank you for making these videos.
Thank you. Really enjoying your new TH-cam videos. I need to get busy and cut all of my leftover fabrics into usable sizes.Right now they are stored in 2-gallon plastic bags by color and stored inside bins under my work tables. Not ideal since the bins are heavy. Trying to figure out a better way to store them. Certainly cutting them to various sizes should help reduce some of the weight. At least that's my hope. I love the quilt block you made in the video. Seeing it in a full quilt is very inspiring. Definitely on my list of quilts to make.
New subscriber. Came across the latest in this series by accident, but when I saw the name Lori Holt, I knew it would be a good series to watch. Wasn't wrong!! Will be watching from the beginning, really love your presentation style and ideas!!
Lovely!!! I do try to organize my straps, but have not mastered anything as beautiful as yours stash!!! I will try harder........ I only today found your youtube video. Too bad because I would love to follow and sew along with your scrappy blocks. I am going to catch up and continue along. At least that is my goal. Thanks for the tips and sew along opportunity. I believe I will be on the road to leveling my stash piles. Stay safe.
I love watching you, the music is so distracting for old folks like me (86) but still I will watch!
Love your aqua machine, the aqua nails, and oh yeh... the aqua cupboard.... Think there may be a theme here? lol. I'm so impressed with your organization. Lots of good help there. Thanks for all your great tips.
Wow - That's not just organization, but beautiful organization...!
Your video is the 3rd one I watched on how to do this block. The way you broke it down makes so much more sense than anyone else’s instructions. Thanks so much.
I prefer this method as well! I saw one where they are a 16 pc patchwork, and then they added the rest, same result, but I do prefer this!
Miss Holt, wondering if this could be made QAYG? I only have a domestic and have been experimenting with QAYG, sure would like to tackle this if I could! Thank you!
