Good info. I switched to Greenteeth about 3 yrs ago for my Rayco 1625 super JR. and love em. Have used the 700 Red as well as the WS. Have not sharpened any but think I’m going to start. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Great video. I learned something. About a year ago I purchased a case of 900's, from a guy going out of business, Couldn't figure out why I was breaking so many teeth. Then found out they were chinese counterfeits.

Great video👍👍👍. I'm totally new to the business. I live down here in New Mexico. We seem to be taking out alot of old pines. Most I do with the backhoe, but recently I have been running into customers that need to have them ground down, excavation is not an option. I'm into a small machine for now, but I've seen several of your videos and I really like your presentation. I think you have a 3rd career opportunity selling and training new customers for one of the major manufacturers😉😉😉. Thanks again for the videos. They answered alot of my questions already.

made the switch a year ago, I still don't understand why I waited so long, Chris sold me my first set helped me get the right pocket set up. Agreed, it felt like I gained 10hp on my RG37.

I got a dosko stump grinder, grenteeth are the best way to go.
Turning 58 myself in two weeks and I just ordered my first grinder, a small PowerKing for my first one. In time I might move up to a larger grinder... time will tell. I mow rural lawns and between my own needs and my customers I figured I wanted to grind stumps. I just started watching your videos and I have a lot to learn. Our soil up here in NW Wisconsin is very rocky and a friend has said he’s taken out many teeth or chippers or whatever you call them on his Vermeer.
How is the business going with the small grinder?
@@bryanutility9609 Eh… I haven’t pursued it, I only did two stump jobs for mowing customers of mine and I decided it wasn’t worth pushing the thing up the trailer ramp for the little I get to do the stumps but I have done a few of the neighbors stumps for favors and I’ve ground my 4 or 5 stumps that I had when I got the grinder. Im busy enough with the mowing I do and now I’m working at two hydroelectric dams too. The grinder isn’t too bad for the $1600 I paid though.

What ever type teeth you use keep them sharp because it does two things , less wear on the machine as a total and time grinding

Places that rent stump grinders should be required to watch your video. I rented one and the teeth were completely rounded over. It more or less pounded the wood off the stump. I looked at the teeth after I made a pass on the first stump after it seemed the teeth weren't really removing much wood. The teeth did not have the cupped look like in your video, but looked like the head of a ball peen hammer. If I ever need to rent one again I will check the teeth before renting it.

How do the greenteeth compare to the yellowjacket teeth? Just bought a sc362, grinds nice. But would definitely upgrade if it's worth it.

You could look for an older vermeer 252 on facebook market place
I'd say at least a third of all my wear sharps have exploded. I hit at least 1 large rock in every stump. I wish there was an option that was tougher for smaller grinders.

@@ozarkscarguy540 many say even on smaller machines the 900 set up does better but the wear sharps do break and I find the original greens are stronger you have to ask for them when you order

I do have a question. First off I'm Mike. I have a Toro STX 26. Badass machine on tracks. I'm wanting to purchase a new Toro STX38, was wondering about putting the Revolution blade on it. Or would it be best too stick with whats on it?
Ok whats on it now ? I have run both Revolution and green wheels and yellow jacket systems ... If you live or grind in a rocky environment you cant beat the revolution for tooth strength but the normal wheel drags down a smaller hp machine . Here is the good news thay have come up with a new wheel for lower hp machine called Rev Lite newriverequipment.com/ now I run green teeth due to less rocky ground www.greenteeth.com/ and you can ask for a guy named Chris Peters there to see if they have an upgraded system for your wheel ( tell him Adams Stump Grinding the guy from youtube referred you)

My vermeer sc252 has a smoking problem , im tearing the motor off it , who bores out kohler motors , its .003 passed min spec. cylinder size , thought about order piston and rings next size up and honing it myself , id rather find a shop to bore it though
You might have to call around some of the motorcycle shops and ask for a name of a machine shop

I just bought rayco stump grinder sjrs 2012. It's only 25 hp. What kinda green tooth should I be using? I heard there is a specific type that I should be using because it's not that tough of a grinder.

and it also depends on what soil type and trees you have , the reds are sharper but are for like softwoods and clean of rocks in the soil

Its a tow behind and not useful in an urban area like I am in but was a great machine back in the day also the engine was a Wisconsin which are hard to find parts for so many guys change out the engine when they die

1110 are the largest for 60hp and more 500 are for smallest machines .... what machine do you have

Yes but depends on the conditions of the area you grind in (rocky or not ) and the hp of your machine
@@mustangrebuilder we have a Rayco 35 h.p. And we are running ws 700 greenteeth and we really watch when we are grinding and have no luck with them. Have you ever owned any Rayco machines.
Okay so the difference in series has that got to do anything with how hard of metal used to make the teeth
ok the number like500, 700,900, or 1100 is the diameter of the tooth, and size is determined by hp of the machine to be used on now the shape of the carbide ( the dish cut in the tooth is what is the difference with the red , green or wear sharp}
