New to the channel. Love the free information very helpful to beginners. Going to look at a vermeer 252 tomorrow. Cheap money just needs a motor overhaul wich i can do myself. Buying the machine for home use but thinking about maybe a little side business. As for the negative comments, watet undrr the bridge brother. Some people just dont want to see other's succeed. Just some constructive criticism on the sticker. I think a grinding wheel indtead of the saw wheel would look cool. But just my opinion. Thanks again for the helpful information! God bless!

Adam, great advice as usual. I ran my grinding business part time for about a decade while working full time as a lineman. I have an Alpine magnum, a 13hp Husqvarna handle bar unit, & a 252. During this time I did a lot of small difficult access stumps which fill in the gaps while I built my business up. My 2 sons have taken it over & we still have the smaller equipment as I have tree guys & stump guys pushing this work my way. I have (2) 35hp grinders we primarily use so usually a breakdown won’t create a problem keeping the work going. Thanks for the advice, I hope your hip is coming alone, it’s a long slow process but should be worthwhile. Fran

I used to run a small portrait and modeling portfolio business. When I started getting busier, I would raise my prices and weed out a lot of my "Problem Children". Sure I might have lost 10-15% of my customer base, but I was making more profit per customer and was not working as many hours. Thus more $$, Less hours.

Your right on about smaller machines . They have a place in the industry. I had to get out the small grinder this weekend to get up into an elevated flower bed to grind out a couple arborvitaes . Tight restricted spots comes with a higher fee.
Hope that hip of yours is coming along well .

Hi there. First time seeing you on youtube and I am now subscribed. Looking forward to learning lots from you. My buddy and I split on a three point hitch stump grinder. It's hard to charge people for doing things, like their driveways in the winter, levelling a pile of gravel in the driveway etc. But we now have stopped. People don't realize the cost of equipment. All they see is that takes 15 minutes with a grinder, so it should only cost $20.00. I have no idea what we should charge per stump or per job. All pointers will be appreciated.
