- We've now tested the Shlby GT350R extensively, and suffice to say, we're in love with it. But considering the dealer markups and a few inconveniences with driving a track-focused car on the road every day, some viewers have suggested maybe the regular GT350 is the way to go? This is a base model version, and as a road car, it's simply fantastic.

Thanks for loving the car. after the 300th car passes over head they just become another car but I watch these videos and see how much people enjoy the cars we build and I appreciate it more. I can't speak for all of uaw local 3000 at Flat rock assembly but I thanks you guys for loving the cars we build.

Why? I think Top Gear should be over now that three are gone. Matt has something special going on here, and people like Chris Harris had something special going on. I think someone needs to make a show based off of a bunch of small segments like One takes and Chris Harris on cars and then have Randy Pobst flog them for track times. I know it sounds similar to Top Gear but why does the format have t0 be the same? Why does it have to be called TOP GEAR?
I'm ready to move on from TG. I enjoy these videos by Matt, Petrolicious, and Jay Leno plenty enough.
Top gear began in 1977. Clarkson top gear version started in 2002 so top gear will continue with or without its host. Problem is they should have reinvented the show with another format. And I dont see what people are praising Chris Harris for, I haw his reviews that are good but not great.
It may have began in 1977, but was not very popular and was being considered for termination before and even after Clarkson joined. Clarkson alone made that show popular and it will not be as popular without him and the others.
Chris Harris has a massive following and his reviews give something that is missing from all other reviews: Technical knowledge and actual race experience. Chris is a full on professional driver now, how many other reviewers (save Pobst) are professional drivers? Tanner Foust I guess, but their show is a joke, as will be the new UK Top Gear.

Im not much of a follower of the cars, but damn, I do love that exhaust sound.
I raced with two of these GT350 last weekend on the road course. If you are going to try and race these things make sure you get the extra coolers because they overheat. Without coolers they were off track in only 4 laps and were unable to keep up or racing as they go into limp mode. Beautiful cars but they still have some bugs to work out.

I think he also sold this car, if I'm not mistaken. The Everyday Driver podcast/TH-cam channel filmed his Mustang Boss and the GT350 together, and on a recent podcast mentioned that he sold the car for something like $10k over sticker with 4000 miles on it.

Fantastic car. The Z/28 needs to be really special if it wants to compete with this, not just in numbers.
The reason why the z/28 and hellcat will never be as great as any 350/r or hell any mustang for that matter is there is no soul. GM and Dodge just make a fat high HP car with a few handling tricks but there is no soul with those cars. The mustang is a icon it started it all and that is the allure the awesomeness of the Mustang in any spec you know you have a legend something wonderful.
+calvin poe True! The Mustang was never popular to us foreigners because of numbers and Nurburgring times. It's popular because it's a Mustang and it roars, not burbles. It's not a cheaply made racecar wannabe like those 10-speed Camaro ZL1's and other gimmicky muscle cars. It's just that successful formula of an engine with soul and mad suspension settings.
The 2016 SS Camaro is already on par with the GT350 at a lower price, the ZL1 and Z/28 are going to blow the GT350R away

No, I'm the king of realistic business decisions. And I like variety. Filming the same car over and over doesn't add anything new or interesting to the mix. Filming my own cars sucks. I hate other people's channels where they film their own cars. I seek out and film cars that I find interesting. And there is nothing I find interesting about a car I've owned for 18 years and already made like four videos on.

Matt is there a video of the new Camaro SS in the pipeline? It is quite an interesting car since it only costs 56k € full speced in Germany without the sun roof. It is praised a lot in the American press. Sadly no word is lost about it in the German media. Even Top Gear UK likes it. I would like to hear your opinion about that car.
I drove the Camaro for a couple days, but didn't have time to do a One Take since we were filming it for the NBC Show. I have another presser coming at the end of July and will film a one take with that one.

I know he paid the price you said you would sell it for, but, can I ask why you decided to still sell it? I know you have many cars, but damn, R32 GTR's are special... Even as an Aussie who sees R32s near-daily, R32 GTR's are still legendary status.

He already sold the GT350 to a dealer and still made alittle profit. The EverydayDriver guys made a video with his Boss 302 and GT350 and spoke about the details of the owners sale of the GT350. Apparently the dealer he sold it too has it listed at $70k

You still have to give Ford credit for the engine and the balls to do it. If it remains reliable over time. I'm sure they've done enough testing before bringing to market. All of the Ford lovers would have to admit GM has done marvels with the pushrod system but who wouldn't like to see a LS with DOHC and a flatplane. I'm waiting on pneumatic valves in a production vehicle to go along with the carbon rims. Pneumatic valve train will change the market once again. It'll probably be Ford to do it.

Whats the price for this in states? The starting price for non shelby mustang is 80 000€ here in Finland and they dont even sell shelby :D

I'm definitely a GM/Camaro guy but the looks on the GT350/R are striking, I can admire a good track car when I see one. The mark up on these cars are insane and forecasted with the Ford GT. The dealers are gonna make out like bandits. A good horizontal integration campaign might benefit Ford.

I'm not sure its a Money issue as much as it is an availability issue.
He has a Focus RS, an Aston he shipped to England to convert to MT, a 911 he's building into a rally/safari car, a foxbody he dumped 50k into and just sold a Corvette and a DeLorean, his podcast starts with 5 minutes of straight ads, and people have to pay to ask questions to "help eliminate ads" but that so far hasn't happened. I mean good for him but I have an unbelievably low amount of sympathy when it comes to anything he can't afford. Lol
Actually while I'm on that subject.

If you’ve never driven a GT350, you’re missing out. If you’ve never driven a GT350 with e85 then you’ve never lived. Now with that said I know it’s insanely rare to even ride in a GT350 so I know that it’s even more rare to drive one. I’m extremely lucky that one of my buddies (who I’m obviously jealous of) has a GT350 with a e85 tune, he let me drive it and omg that is the best feeling I’ve ever had in my life. Anything else is currently on hold and I’m saving up, only 14k to go until that thang is mine baby. Wish me luck gentlemen
