No one ever condemns the "mothers" of these toddlers for getting involved or associating with the bloke in the first place. How could they let their child be exposed to someone with such an obvious sinister background ?

Yeah, the law is an ass. The failure of pomposity. Very few went to law school out of a passion for truth and justice, it's the snobby jobby most of them seek.

By not publishing names the legal system is not providing protection to the next family involved in this persons violence...this kind of person is not going to be limited to one shack up in their lives...guaranteed...

You are quite right. As I listened to you I thought the same before you mentioned that these suppression orders of names are possibly imposed to silent those that may highlight such evil acts of violence.
    Sounds all very currupt.

Good on you for talking about the name suppression of criminals …. As related to my own family experience, a family member was given not only name suppression but the whole court case, holding him to account for familial sexual abuse, was suppressed - it was never publicised and was given the appearance of not ever having taken place. At this (his second court case for sexual abuse - he had already been found guilty at his first court case in which he was given name suppression throughout), the family member came from prison each day from where he was still serving his first sentence.…reporters at the time, discussed openly their disbelief over the whole court case suppression. Both court cases took place in Christchurch just over 30 years ago.

Off the top my head I think NZ did have capital punishment up to 1959. Back then just one murder was big news. Is it time to discuss capital punishment again?

Spot on Mr. Laws. What can ewe do ? I think that the govt. agencies & courts put the name suppression in place is to isolate a particular ethnic group from repercussions: they are long of voice when their cultural beliefs or traditions may have been impacted in some way but not a whimper when their youth are MURDERED. Mr. Luxon may do something about this ?

If I can remember correctly, I used to question, questionable decisions while I was young, growing up - This has been a making in the works that’s finally rearing its ugly head.. I just remember questioning decisions that favoured offenders more then the victims 😩
