And by being children, they should be learning about who they are and where they came from. And that shouldn't be sugar coated. We shouldn't shield children from reality. The only thing that does is foster resentment later in life because at some point those children grow up realising their entire child hood was a lie. And then they have to start learning about themselves later in life. Their culture, their heritage and EVERYTHING that goes with that is what children should be learning from a young age. Children are resilient. We should never shield them from who they are because its inconvenient for us.

@Duckz558 Because all governing bodies around the world are loosing their control. Kids are well informed. They don't care what is forced upon them . Unlike our generations . We got a hiding.
Kids now are free to believe what they choose. And what they are choosing on mass is change. Black lives and Gaza protest are funded by nutters paying Kids to revolt. Yet the kids are revolting because the powers that be are corrupt.
Yeah they are being used however the choice for Anarchy is a deep felt need for change.
The normal looking well raised teenagers are killing for no reason. They are not just kids from the ghettos anymore. People have had enough. The true enemy hide in their gated fortresses walking amongst us hidden. The truth always comes out. I'm glad I here to see it play out.

In many instances they are told the truth. Anyone would be angry. The truth hurts, both ways.
The goal is unity. I hope you have investigated enough to know all the truth. Pakeha as well as Maori have cherry pickers.
Anger doesn't need to equal violence. Maybe a hearty haka. The kind that raises the hair at the back of your neck.
It is merely an expression of emotions and in some instance a warning that a line although invisible to some has been drawn in the sands of time....and so are the days of our lives.
Much Aroha to you and your whanau Paul.

@@tracymichaelsen493 We absolutely need untiy, but we can NEVER have it, until the wrongs of the past are righted. The injustices corrected and/ or compensated for, and we should keep fighting until that happens. Until then, unity is a pipedream, a fantasy, a lie. No one should EVER accept their culture, and therefor THEMSELVES being walked over, and being treated like a 2nd class citizen because its more convenient for the white majority. There is no unity until there is equality, and there is no equality when injustice is accepted and never addressed or corrected.

Shane Jones has his head in his a$$. Children NEED to be learning who they are and where they came from from a young age. We should NEVER EVER shield or shelter our kids from inconvenient truths. All we are doing is basing their entire existence on a lie because its more convenient for us. NO WAY. We shouldn't lie to our kids. We teach them about the reality of who they are and where they come from, and we teach them the good AND the bad. And if they want to ask questions, we should answer them honestly. Kids are resilient. Shane may lie to his own children for his own convenience, but that doesn't mean the rest of us should.

Be honest Rangi, We both know about your rewritten version of history.

I teach her about inter tribal warfare, colonisation, the fact that one of her iwi she whakapapa's back to are considered "kupapa" traitors for their role in the NZ Land Wars in siding with the British against her other Iwi which fought alongside the Kingitanga during the invasion of the Waikato. I teach her what I know, including Te Reo Maori, why she has to learn Te Reo at home while she must learn English at school. I teach her about the fact that her Mana Whenua is on one side of town, stolen by the colonizers who built a road straight through the middle of our urupa, while the rest of our whanau were herded onto what is effectively a reservation on the other side of town where there are no street lights, no footpaths, no Police (unless of course something bad happens) no nothing, because no one gives a s**t. Those are the lasting effects of mass land confiscation. Poverty, premature death, no trust of the government, incarceration. These are daily occurrences for us. You people treat them as talking points, to us its life. To us its reality, and it all goes back to Injustice, theft of land, Raupatu, mass land confiscation by the NZ Government. But we will NEVER stop fighting.
