      @@GLITCHEDZAHello. Greetings from Houston. I currently have a Samsung 85' QN90A. I want something bigger and better for a dark control room. I love OLED, but the G4 83' or 98' are too expensive. The Hisense 100' U8K is back to $3,000, and the 98' Sony X90L went down to $5,000. Is it worth the $2,000 difference? I also have a Sony OLED 77' X80J, so I know what Sony brings to the table in regards to processing and upscaling low content, but $2,000 is a lot. What would you recommend for size and price at these sizes ( 98-100). I don't do any gaming. I Just do streaming, OTA, and 4k UHD blu-ray movies. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks

      @@menacordero1 I do love Sony TVs. The panel calibration is unmatched. But the U8K is a much brighter TV thanks to its mini-LED tech. If you want something brighter for HDR content then I would say go for that. It is also bigger.
      You could also look at Sony's Bravia 7 but it only goes up to 85". That is a decent Mini-LED TV. I do think $2000 more for a Sony is a lot to ask especially if it only has full array. The U8K at 100" is pretty impressive for that price and panel.

    The best thing about Hisense TV is that they can be found for about R10K less a few months after launch, making them an even greater buy.
    So happy there's a South Africa channel that does these sort of stuff.

    • @GLITCHEDZA
      @GLITCHEDZA  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is true. Even when this new range launched last year, they were R5k off at launch on a "special launch promo". I think a lot of people are sleeping on Hisense but they are slowly taking of the SA TV market. Also, thanks for watching! Got more Hisense stuff coming up this year too. The "N" range and 85UX very soon.

      We really do hey! I realised this a while back when I compared all brands. Hisense, Samsung and TCL all have different models here. Sony and LG seems to be the only TV brands that are one-to-one. Pity we haven't had any new Sony or LG models in SA in two years now. I worry Sony might even be leaving SA again.

    I'm curious between getting a Hisense U8H or a U7K
    Being in a country like Botswana is surely limiting as the only Mini-LED we currently have is the 55inch Hisense U8H which is a 2022 series model currently retailing for P10,999 (roughly 14,600 rands) only sold at one store; Home Corp. Seeing as it is that the U7k is sold out in most stores in South Africa, I doubt Botswana would be receiving the U7/8k models any time soon.
    Would I still be losing out on purchasing the U8H? Seeing that there are already K and now N models out now?? Or should I just wait till possibly next year for the U7/8k to arrive here
    Edit: Lovely reviews by the way! US versions of the Hisense models have been dominating TH-cam for far too long, glad to see you breaking the chain mate.

    • @GLITCHEDZA
      @GLITCHEDZA  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for watching and for the support!
      The U8K was quite a big improvement over the H tbh. The VA panel is especially a big deal for the TV as it helps eliminate the nasty blooming caused by the Mini-LEDs in the U8H. The IPS panel in that TV just suffered from some clouding. It is still present in the U8K but definitely not as bad.
      So if there is a way to get the U8K in your region, even if it means waiting a bit, I would. I am not sure about the U8N just yet. I am waiting for review samples on that TV to arrive. But I don't think Hisense will bring huge improvements to that TV lineup this year tbh. I think they will focus on improving the lower-end U7N and U6N rather than the U8N. There isn't much more they can do with the U8N compared to the U8K.

    If ur buying this tv, u have the money to invest in a proper surround sound system. The tv's built in sound is supposed to replace the sound bar, not ideal, but I think that is hownthe designed it. Alternatively, u could get a stand for the tv to lift it higher.

    Hoping you can shed some light, I'm sure you've seen the overseas u8k models, are they different in any way? I notice the UI and even the power cables are different. I know we usually get the budget version of already budget version'd things so...Did I make a good choice?

    • @GLITCHEDZA
      @GLITCHEDZA  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Glad you came across this review. It is important to share a "local" model review for users as these TVs are "slightly" different.
      But don't stress, you made the right choice. Hisense has been working to align the SA counterpart with the US model and every year they have been getting closer and closer. The "K" range has been the closest.
      The U8K is almost identical to the US model here in SA when it comes to the tech inside of it. Same panel, dimming zones, brightness etc. The only thing you'll need to live with is the operating system which is VIDAA. Hisense has a mandate for EMEA regions to include VIDAA on their TVs so that can't change sadly. But if you want Android I suggest getting a media box.
      Honestly, I would say get a media box for any TV unless it runs Android TV because all TV OS is pretty meh.
      But the TV you got is excellent and one of the best on the market. It may look different but the performance is the same as the US model.

      @GLITCHEDZA Damn! Major props for the additional info brother. Really appreciate it - Definitely earned a new sub.
      Yeah i think I'm gonna just use an additional TV box like you suggested. I'll see how I'm liking the VIDAA OS tho. I'm currently on a 2019 Samsung UHD and it's older software so I might just find this OS being an upgrade lol.
      Really cool to hear the positive feedback and it's much appreciated. Don't want to start a whole Q&A here but just 1 more question - as I'm new to Mini LED's, are there any precautions I should take or anything to be weary off with these units? Like burn in or backlights overheating etc.
      (Experienced this with my UHD a few years back)

    • @GLITCHEDZA
      @GLITCHEDZA  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@NathanTG See where you go with VIDAA. It has all the apps you need but I do prefer to install my own APKs like Smart Tube (A TH-cam app without ads), Syncler (for streaming content) etc.
      The only thing to keep an eye on with Mini LED TVs is the energy consumption. If it is something you worry about. They use a lot of power. 300W - 400W depending on the scene. I know when I used the U8K with my EcoFlow during loadshedding, it would deplete the battery a lot faster than my Sony LED. Nota a huge deal but they are a bit more power-hungry.
