    One thing I've learned is that when it comes to these little differences is that when you're in the throws of a good movie and sucked into the story of what you're watching, you'll never really notice these little things. Totally worth the buy. I'm not sure I'll ever buy an OLED now with Hisense out here doing what they're doing.

    In the white boxes scene it looked as if the Samsung hued more towards the red warm tone color and the Hisense more cool blue color. I'm definitely buying the Hisense this Friday and will be joining to get the calibration for the U8K. That picture quality you calibrated for the U8K looks amazing...Thank you for all that you do Quantum...

    Hey Q two questions. One can you do a U8K comparison against the U8G? 2, I have the X900E, bought it (used) in 2019 off your recommendation.. To date has been the highest end set i've owned. like everyone else I've been in best buy etc, seen sets like the C1,C2 and S95b in store on their settings. How would you describe the upgrade in viewing experience to someone coming from a panasonic elite plasma, to an x900e, to something like the s95b. Who wonders if it'll actually be a jaw dropping experience?. As always thank you for all the work you do.

    Wow! The Hisense U8K really is putting out a fantastic picture! I really wish I could dial in my Mom‘s Hisense for her but it’s an older model and unfortunately it’s not one you have settings for so I just did the best by my eyesight and tried to apply what I have learned from being here, and I don’t think it’s horrible but I wish I could do better.

    I haven't been able to view this TV in person but I am very interested in upgrading to a 65 inch U8K from my 50 inch Panasonic plasma from 2010.. My issue is that my wife and I sit in recliners to watch TV so neither of us can be directly in front of the screen. Viewing angles are very important to us and I just can't find anyone commenting about the off-axis viewing performance of this set. Will we be satisfied with the U8K or do I have to buy an OLED for the viewing angles? Thank you for any help.

    I picked up a 48" LG A2 OLED for about $569 of Dec of last year. I though that was a great deal for an OLED, got it for my bedroom. I'm still running my 55" Hisense H9F in the living room, still love my Hisense for the brightness and picture quality. Now this makes me look forward to upgrading to a newer Hisense mini-led in the future!

    So my question is what do you think this would look like of in 2024 they make it a 10 bit and not an 8 bit? Assume everything else stayed exactly the same for Hisense but they Just made it 10 bit. Would it be exactly at the level of the S95B or would it be Arley a hair away that it would be almost impossible to notice with the naked eye? I wonder?
    Also, any news for next year model?

      Their price has been consistently Rock bottom price in USA 🇺🇸 last 4 yrs. So maybe once ppl are finally accepting d brand n willing to pay extra to support the tech. I am sure they will.
      In China they ahve like 12 bit 16bit Tv, $$$$$$$
      Their U8K in china, is like $450 more for 65”. It’s been like that last 4 yrs.
      I am in Canada, i hav to pay 30% more than US consumers for my 2 Hisense TV (cost me $2400) so far just for 1 55” 1 65”. Thats their Global Price.
      USA Hisense Flagship are Strip bare bone to give ppl d BEST image/quality for unthinkable price ,,,ppl just want cake eat it too n greedy.
      Lol. But the thing is in Busienss school….”when a reputable brand, if u make the product TOO good. U have to MATCH global high end price . If u mark down too low, u are NOT going to impress the $3000 tv ppl, they have the MONEY already they do NOT need d discount. U end up attracting the LOW budget GAmming community that GREEDY, want cake eat it too. when make TV/CAR too perfect, NOT only U LOSE d portentially HIGH end customers that sees d Gadget as LOW end, that they will never bother in the future(when too many Gammers buy it Cheap), when low budget gammers stilling living home or all they do is Gamming . They are USED to have EVERYTHING but pay NOTHING . It will just ANGER them if NOT keep delivering BEST spects for NO Frill price . It will Actual cause major cash flow issue n Brand image ruin. “
      The stuff is available. Ppl just need to be happy with what they pay, willing to spend extra $300-$400 for each size to get d Most premium stuff. Then it Makes sense for them to launch their More premium stuff in USA/Canada :)

Just made my call on a hisense u8h instead of the u8k since they are so similar, $300 savings, and it's going in a crazy bright room. I have seen more reviews on the u8h being one of, if not the best, tvs for anti glare. The oled c1 is like a mirror in this room so it's going in my bedroom. Luckily the hisense will be paired with a higher end 7.2.2 system so the sound quality isn't a factor. Excited to see how this u8h compares to the c1 in this room.

    I just bought a U8H 75" Australian version and the dimming zones are atrocious. I can count them turning on and off as word roll up the screen. There's 10 from top to bottom and 20 from left to right. Blooming is out of control. I don't know if it's a dud, but when there's a bright object on a dark background moving across the screen, I can literally see 4 inch squared blocks of light turning on and off. In real life u prob wont see much of cool tone at all. Like how ivory beside a pale white , suddenly looks MORE of YELLOW? But beside colors, its so “Pale”.
      So what we see today, its either d Samsung made U8K looked more blue than it is. Or the U8K made Samsung looked more warm. They r both amazing minor toned . SONY this year is like PURPLE tuned. Omg its bad. Lol TCL, QM8 😮their Red looks all Orange.
      We prob see nothing when actually watch TV. Lol. :) 😊 that “cool” tone is quite mild. Very mild.

    • @birdtj82
      @birdtj82 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Have u heard of the term LESS is more??? This is exact what it meant. For example last 3 yrs SONY flagship panel…. X900h, A90J, X95K,,,,,LG C9 CX C1 all of em were like 550, 650 680, 700, 780nit PEAK. But for ppl Gammers in TECH. That they associate BETTER as --HGHER numbers, sort of 1 track mind.
      So in order to compete with other brands, they have to UP d brightness so much that prob -HAVE no choice. But MOST TV SHOWS/steaming 1000nit. Anything around 1000-1200 is good enough for like MOST comfortable WATCHING of yr eyes, which make u SEE MORE Bright Vibrant Colors. They up the 2000nit last yr, cuz Hisense is Relatively UN-recognized Brand for premium TV. They made Name in d Market now, they probe focus on Quality /performance for Over all TV watching.
      Like if u think 1500 is dim. Go talk to all the ppl bought 2018 2019 OLEDs like 480nit peak, lol. D ppl were like OVER d MOON buying LG CX…”yay 700 something” lol. 😂
      Just sharing this, cuz i I have their 65” 1500nit peak 2021 Flagship panel. Very Bright, sweet spot. 🎉bright but MOST vibrant that Eyes wont see Color as too bright --mistake bright color as white.

      It’s kinda like when CARs go up to like 600 horse power, u dont need it. U need other parts to help To control the driving so they wont CRASH 💥 like what happened to Paul Walker. So Sweet Spot for price, handling, speed, control, recovery..is about 260-340 Horse power for premium 🚗, everything runs more fluid driving. Hisense U8H made name in d Market, prob realize want to focus on Image delivery this year. 😊

      It’s like using iPhone 12pro, thought NO need to use 14PRO. It’s so close. ONCE I use it i cant go back. The EXTRA feature that I didnt know i needed it, i cant reverse it.
      If u are getting 55” u prob wont feel too much diff but, if 65” or 75” the U8K wil really give much POP, n deeper black.
      Like doing -pensil drawing in art class. Those 🍎 in white n grey 3D. The whitest part of apple will be WHITER, it self will make d 🍏 look more 3D even end up the SAME grey. So the peak nits do matter. U get more 3D visual.
      But will be subtal, if u dont have em side by side, u wont be able to tell cuz U7K is amazing itself . If not side by side u really wont be able to tell.
      I have their Flagship panels…..2X. Yeah u think u pay 💰 $2-300 more for U8 version. UPON using, u will feel Ike u got EXTRA $600-800 upgrade worth out of it depends on size. No fail.

  • @TechButler
    @TechButler 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    One thing I've noticed in all the reviews I've seen on the U8K is that the white levels appear over-exposed. This explains why in dark scenes you do see more detail, since lighter areas are getting a "bump," so even the slightest lighter shadow provides more than just darkness. I'm guessing they applied this same approach to all white areas in the scene across the board, regardless of their levels. This explains why the lightest areas look over-exposed and give that "bloom" effect. They should set a threshold above which this approach isn't applied and would flatten out the picture so that the lightest areas aren't so blown out. As it stands, it defeats the point of HDR - to bring up the lowest levels and bring down the highest levels of an image such that you can see every detail. It doesn't have to be by much and is likely why the skin tones look a little washed out compared to the Samsung in some places. I heard what you said at around 16:56 noting that you think they're already applying some "crushing" to the higher levels, but I noticed in a lot of the scenes how the whitest areas are blown out compared to the Samsung.

      Go U8K! For one thing LG's WebOS is a cluttered mess. I left out LG in my own search solely because of WebOS. But IDK, maybe you wouldn't care. I also don't like LG's remote which works like the Nintendo Nunchuck where a cursor floats all over the screen as you move the remote around. It may SEEM intuitive, but it's not. I've used that before and never got used to that. It gets particularly clunky when you want to rewind or fast-forward a scene. It's just a hassle. Or maybe they've fixed it since my experience with a 2019 LG flagship TV, but the general experience leaves a lot to be desired and apparently their latest OS makeover has received negative backlash.

      Dude it is ONLY name brand in REST of world except USA for longest time. Ppl here live in bubbles.
      Just like till 1989-1990 ,,,,Japanese Luxury Brand Infiniti/ Luxus did NOT enter USA, ppl Had NO idea HOW much more elegant/smooth powerful Cars they are comparing BMW/Mecedes/Audi…all bumpy n very bad.. they are like”what’s that, this is new”.
      In fact Hisense dominate Luxury TV corner in Asia. Ppl here just live in US bubble. 😅 often stuck up. 😊 same with BMW, Their BMW entry level X3 x5 are WAY inferior in USA than d same model in EU. Lol. 😊

    I watched this video because I've narrowed down my choices for a 65 inch television and they include these two. I thought it was going to be the answer to my prayers but I ended more confused than ever. You speak so highly of the S95B but after watching this video, I went back and watched previous videos you've done on the S95B and in one of them, you put it on your "do not buy " list.

    • @birdtj82
      @birdtj82 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s because d TIMMING!
      When he put S95B on -- do not buy list. That’s when S95B released a -- firmwareUPdate😮n completely RUINED d TV for almost 2 months !!!!!!!!!! All d ppl just pulled $3000 for 65” went rage .
      --- during Xmas , Hisense 😮U8H n LG C1 C2 were Way way cheaper during Xmas 🎉. Of course he would advice ppl avoid buying a $3000 messed up Samsung till they Fix Firmware 😮update . Samsung later released something AFTER Xmas like well later in Jan . Super slow . 😮 just to revert Back to before Firmware update . 😮 S95B went back to normal stunning again .😅

    I have both (just got my Samsung a few days ago). I agree just about 100% with what was said here. Honestly sometimes my u8k just looks better than my Samsung in some movies/shows. But the u8k has much worse viewing angles and overall looks quite a bit worse in gaming partly due to response times and dark biasing / blooming suppression which takes away the pop of tiny highlights.

      @@birdtj82I watched a fomo video and hisense had better colors but with gaming on the dirt 5 game they displayed headlights and lights looked greenish on hisense and white on tcl. Also tcl had better contrast. But want to see another comparison and not just go off one reviewer. I'm so torn. The tv will mainly be for console gaming

      I went to store checked n saw 75 “ U8K with family (they even had chair 🪑 couch 🛋️ for sit in front of display)
      Damn it has IMAX experience vs normal theatre exp.
      U need to make sure d back of yr couch 🛋️ to d surface of TV at least 10.5-11 feet ! Too close to tv yr eyes will get crazy.

    07:52 - The shading of the trees in the Samsung (up top) definitely had a more... "realistic" looking shades of green for the trees, whereas the hisense was a lot more vibrant, almost synthetic color looking. I've been debating on getting this TV for so long now because of the 144hz. No oled TV today hits that 144hz. But I also watch a lot of movies/TV. I'd say definitely a 50/50 split. I'm torn between getting an OLED TV, The Hisense ULED, and a Samsung Neo QLED. Still can't decide lol

    • @petedetraglia4776

      He already made several comparison videos on the U8K and QM8. Quantum said the U8K edged the QM8 out by picture quality, sharper images, and black control and the QM8 had the better motion handling..It's up to your preference really but both need to be calibrated to get the picture quality amazing...No doubt I'm getting the U8K 55 inch this Friday from Best Buy for $799.99. Also the QM8 only comes in at a 65 inch and above so the cheapest price for a QM8 at this time is $1,199.99. Unless the go on sale...which i doubt as both tvs are new to the market.

    Great comparison video! I absolutely agree about out of the box reviews. I actually find it rediculous and a waste of time. If people are intestested in out of the box side by sides, then go to the store. It's lazy. These tvs have lots of settings for a reason. You push the settings to get the best out of these tvs and I thank you for this! I watch other videos to pass time, but I wait for your reviews to actually see what they can do 👍

      Pppl do --ONLY OUT OF BOX…review are in Chohoots. They are Paid stores like Bestbuy/UHD association backed up by BIG 3 to promote OLEDs. 😮😅
      Cuz instead of TRash talking Hisense. They are Very sneaky. They Leave Hisense in UN-TWEAKED state n like beside a TWEAKED OLED . Like “SEE SEE” this is so malicious but almost Narccisistc. Cuz they are making fool of ppl. 😢 yet making money .

The TVs in TH-cam video looks like mushy crap 💩$300. ---I am shocked iPad Pro 2 screen…..so grey, n gooey. My 2 yr old U8G made my $1000 IPad look $300 again. 😮
