Been a Retropie guy for over a decade. Not sure why I am so dedicated to it either?! Oh, I know why, Arcade Punks always has the images and I rarely made my own, lol. Man, sooooo many images I have lol. I might just try Batocera. Great vid!
Great video, very clear and well produced - but it was really distracting that you were reading a cue slightly above the camera. It felt like you were never making eye contact and your eyes were scanning left and right noticeably. I normally wouldn't mention something like this on someone's video, but you've clearly went to a lot of bother to make the video look great that this feels like an avoidable distractor! Thanks again for the info and keep up the awesome work.
Thanks! Yeah, I'm still getting used to talking on camera so I put an iPad with the script on top of my lens. I was hoping no one noticed it but I'm getting better with practice 😅
@@ArtisansAllianceTake your script, break it into keywords only, use the keywords as a guide only, fill the words in naturally from memory. Your speech will sound more natural and it will eliminate the eye contact problem. Great video! Thanks!
Have an argon one v3 case, works well with batocera. Waiting for an official retropie image sometime this month, so I can switch from micro sd to nvme, and install the argon case fan script.
I want to get started with a Pi5 and use is for mediacenter and retro gaming, is it wise to put in a M2 drive or is the sd drive where the OS lives enough
Hey man, I'm having trouble playing GameCube games. They're telling me there's no save file on the memory card slot and won't let me go any further. I also can't open the quick menu (hotkey + a) any ideas?
My guess is that you don't have the GameCube bios file. You can launch games without it but theres some weird stuff that'll happen without it. You can check with the bios checker in the menu. For pulling up the quick menu with hotkey + a, that only works for systems that use emudeck. For GameCube emulator settings, you have to change them inside the Batocera menu for the system.
@@ArtisansAlliance nice one yeah actually I think I did see a message about the bios file but chose to be lazy and ignore it 😂 thanks man I'll give that a try
Thanks so much for this favorite online classes. you are the best teacher
My complements on the whole aesthetic of everything you've got going on there. Cheers.
I dropped in on the list for that Pi case. Looks awesome.
Excellent Raspberry Pi 5 walk-through! Clear and concise with some nice tips and tricks too. Thanks so much for this!
Thank you for the video - I learned so much I never understood before from other videos. I'm excited for the retro gaming to come!
Agreed! This is one of the best guides I have found for Raspberry Pi 5 Batocera setup. As a Pi-noob, this video is just what I needed.
straight to the point, appreciate this! thank you.

If you "just unplug your pi" you run the risk of corrupting the SD card.

I tried Batocera and it wasn't as optimized as RetroPie (through manual install). It's been working fine, so I hope there's an official image soon.
what about LaunchBox that what i use.
Any idea if ps2 works somewhat ok?
