- [Update] A fix for the games seems to be out, and saving normally should do the trick now!
A good thing to know if you wanna keep playing this game!
I've had this comfirmed. For Steam Deck and PS5. I'm assuming that it's the same on all platforms, but let me know!

Even for the ps5 I saved my game progress and came back there’s no save data at all smh

guys this video isn't correct, you need to use the codac to call to mei ling (140.96) and she will let you save. When you exit like in rhe video its does not save
At the point of recording and posting the video, of uou saved trough mei ling and just quit the game, the save game got deleted. I'll check late rif it changed, but this was nog to formally save your game. But to make sure your (mei ling) save didn't dissapear.
My save data for mgs2 is showing up in console storage on ps5. When I choose to load game, it says no MGS2 Substance data not found. Wtf 😒 hours lost..
@@justingentry8732 same story, use the codac to call raidens gf or otacon (140.96) it saves in game and not on console storage

@@RedshirtsGaming codec? Maybe main menu? I don't remember there being any other way of saving honestly. It's right there in my console storage as 31.1 MB. It won't let me do anything with it, like trying to upload THAT data to the cloud without PS plus, so I just started a new game. I guess I could get PS plus and try to upload it to the cloud makes me so mad you have to pay to upload save date on the cloud for ps5. If it's showing up on console save data, why the heck is it not loading it from there. This whole game collection was a mistake. I'm saving for a steam deck and going full on emulation. Sick of consoles draining what money I have left. I remember exiting out several times properly. I honestly don't know. It just pisses me off so bad.

How do I save mgs2? On ps5 I was a hour in and lost everything
You have to call in to frequency 140,96 on the codec. There you'll get a prompt to save.
I can’t save in the original Msx metal gear. Playing on ps5. The in game save option does not work and L1 +R1 game menu does not exist on it. What in the actual fuck?
I have honestly not tried the Msx game with regards to saving yet. I'll see if I can find something!
I figured it out. The in game save feature only works when you are in the elevator shaft. Now I know why all of the games are separate files. The controls and functionality is inconsistent across the board.

Ooh that brings me back. Renting a game without memory card and then leavingbit on until the rental was up.
Shame it didn't work. Suprised as well as other people said it did work. Maybe a patch changed it.
@@RedshirtsGaming in Saudi Arabia there was nothin called renting you need to buy the game, my uncle used to tell stories about it.
I think they had different console like x-box or PC .
@@7wald_hrb329 you could always buy. But years back, when video and dvd rentals where a thing still, you sometimes could rent a console and games as well. This was ps2 and before.

@7wald_hrb329 honestly, I didn't do it often. And this was like, 20 years ago?
And I really didn't think about that. If they'd do that, I think they'd be at risk of not looking trustworthy to the rest of their customers.
